Love them two tones! Really need to be used more often as they are much noisier and more distinctive than most electronic sirens.

Beautiful sound, especially with the reverb before it comes into shot.

I miss those old two tomes. Just a part of our generation. I'm glad that I grew up with these old sirens. They need to make a retro come back to the era.

Two Tones, far more effective and a lot more distinctive.

The first truck is fitted with 'almost good' warning lights. The traffic-clearing or grille lights flash in pairs: excellent for tracking by other drivers and distance information transfer. But this is impeded by the distraction of the roof lights which flash alternately, confusing distance information. But, the following truck is even worse, with alternating grille lights and completely uncoordinated roof lights. Makes it difficult for other drivers to track and even make a unitary identification of the truck, increasing the other drivers' perceptual and planning workload and potentially reaction time. On the audible alarm: air horns v electronic sirens: I'm not aware of any field studies on road user behaviour, but my subjective impression, having driven fire appliances using each (and electro-mechanical sirens), is that the two-tone air horns have the best traffic reaction at close range. Dual sirens seem to be elicit better medium range reactions

Nice two-tone usage. Didn’t expect the Austrian Rosenbauer to have such British twos. Expected the European model.

@@andyprice72 .... nothing says "Get out of the f*ckin' way!" like the proper British air two-tones. I used to love the WMFS pumps of the '70s and '80s with their twin-sets. I remember being on New Street in Birmingham, 1980-ish, when a convoy of A1 Central's Pump Escape, Pump, TL & ET came flying around the corner with all horns blazing... It nearly made my ears bleed. Happy days. 😊

Not sure how I got to find this, but two tone is so much better, bring them back I say. They when we say Blues and Twos, it will mean something again.

The old air horns are certainly the highest volume.

TRUs are to stay at leigh and Ashton. Both boats are also staying put. Everyone at leigh and Ashton will have TRU training and capabilities. Ashton are getting a brand new boat.

The TRU will still ride 5. The main point is so the TRU will be able to be crewed constantly
