Your list is amazing Jaime. Is there anything you would change about it going forward? I've used the exact same HQ's & loadout as you and likewise using a successor chapter for those amazing traits. Only difference for me is I took 5x Bladeguard, 5x T-Hammer/shield Wulfen & some axe/shield Wulfen Dreads instead of the Contemptor & Redemptors. Am i leaning too much into combat and not enough support fire in your opinion? Looking for advise from an experienced SW player like yourself 😀

@@stu_gibson I love all your combat lol, nothing wrong with that. I just worry that sometimes you won't be able to move up the board. With guns, you give your opponent the choice of shoot what is running towards them or shoot what is currently doing damage. If it is all combat, I don't want them to shoot what is closest, moveblock something else and stay outside of charge of another unit. If it is working for you keep at it!!!

@@stu_gibson So i run pretty much a copy of Jaime's list as he's probably the best space wolves player around atm. Initially i had it with bladeguards, eradicators and a small utility TWC unit. I just went to my first tourny on the weekend and seeing some of the powerful lists out there has made me realise the value that shooting gives us (i went 1w-4l). Bladeguard with impulsor is probably pretty decent variation. I've found that without a decent brick of wounds in the mid board, my characters get popped pretty easily (largely inexperience and user error). I'd try and copy his most recent list almost to the letter 2 Redemptors with plasma are almost essential. Even though the plasma is swingy, there's a chance that it isnt swingy and that threat alone can hold alot of pressure at 36". The long fangs are also essential. Buying you an extra turn of the enemy thinking "oh, they actually do work" is invaluable to get units into position. At that point, it's either shoot them or shoot redemptors - all while ignoring your wolfguard and cyberpup. Of all the platforms, i think volkite contemptor is probably the least required and if it cops a nerf then that's probably what can be dropped (either for a wulfen dread or some attackbikes or something - drop the onslaughts on the redemptors to pinch points and you can fit 2 multimelta bikes in for the contemptor). The absolute key to this list is protect your librarian at all costs. If the enemy is about to kill your librarian, either bite them, concede or start talking about how well painted their army is until they clock out.

Yes, Space Wolf lists and great lists indeed! Brutal and devastating Successor chapter!! The Tempestas discipline is incresible. I really dig the classic Wolf list too. I use a similar list but include a MOTF Primaris Techmarine with BOR instead of a Wolf Lord, works well. Thanks for the video!!

Honestly one of the more useful vids for helping me pick my wolves. I bought a blood claws box, njal and bjorn coz they look cool. I don't need much more to make something similar to list 2 at 1k

Really like both lists, and mine is pretty much the same as Jaime's (he has a great YT video on his list build) but I've swapped the Blood Claws for Assault Intercessors and my list doesn't include the Redemptor's or Contemptor. I totally get why people include them - the Volkite Contemptors are very meta - but for me, Space Wolves are not a shooting army so little point in trying to shoehorn in shooty units. Better off taking an Impulsor full of Bladeguard and some fighty Dreadnoughts like Wulfen dread or Murderfang, like in list 2.

Will we be seeing any content from the warp wanderer's tournament? I really enjoyed seeing your recaps from the previous one

It wasn't mentioned but it seems like people forget that blood claws only get their bonus attack on the charge if they're using the default chapter tactic

see, i always thought the space wolves codex looked pretty strong when i read it, despite hearing a ton of lamentation about how underpowered the space wolves codex was from it's player base at the time. i think the problem is that space wolves players tend to look at their unique stuff like thunderwolves and wulfen to determine whether their codex is good rather than looking at how it applies to all their options overall. i get it, space wolves players want to bring a bunch of their unique space wolves options, but the codex does have some great traits, relics, and stratagems. sort of like how i feel deathwatch has been heavily slept on because they aren't a very popular space marine chapter, cause the kill teams allow for some incredibly strong obsec units, and their stratagems are very adaptably powerful.

Im new to 40k and im playing a list similarly to the first one. Is it possible to get to know which secondaries Jamie chose on the hismissions? I usually go with Engage, Oaths and mostly Octarius but i feel i could adjust a little bit better.

I would love to see a good list for Space Wolves with only Firstborn.

Would you ever consider doing one of these for current tau? I struggle to make a list for even casual games that isn't either incredibly dull to play for both me and my opponent or one that feels underpowered in every game mode. Even as an Ironhands player I've never been able to get onto the Grav-Cannon Devastators + Drop Pod hype train. S5 just isn't what it used to be.

is it an oversight that vanguard vets got nerfed in points for jumpack, LC/SS but wolf guard didnt even though they are the same thing

Maybe but it could also be an intentional buff to a unique unit. Technically Wolf guard are not Vanguard vets.

Not an oversight. Wolfguard have -1 ld, no meltabombs and no ability to combat squad compared to vanguard vets.

And cost 19 points a model (the exact same as a base Vanguard Vet even when the Vet has all of the advantages mentioned above). All I'm saying is don't be surprised if their war-gear costs get changed in the next Munitorum Field Manual equivalent. 🤷‍♂️

GW often uses wargear costs to balance units. I'm not saying it's logical just that I think it was deliberate. All that being said I also wouldn't be surprised if they adjust them in future, simply because GW is nothing if not inconsistent.

Really noob question here but how do people make their SW Smash Captains? Do the old jumpacks fit on primaris boys?

They fit perfectly. I made my jump pack Wolf Guard out of Intercessors.

Im pretty sure the long fangs still suffer -1 to hit from droppods

Why run blood claws as successor chapter instead of grey hunters if they are just back field campers? For an extra 10 points (for the two squads) they out perform them in every way

becuase he wants the melee counter punch over basic bolter fire, he can also put both blood claws into the drop pod instead of long fangs if his opponent is screened well, giving him charge opportunities, more flexability basicly.

@@nathanott4544 Successor blood claws are trash they don't get the extra attack, so Grey Hunter shoot better and with chainswords for an extra 10 pts fight the same.

What about 2 Squads of 9 Wolf Guard with Shields and Claws supported by Ulric and 1 Libi with Stormcaller and Insticts Awoken? Coming down in Drop Pods for first Turn Charges? What I hate the most about Codex Spaces Wolfs is the Primaris Keyword on Ragnar. By Lore Ragnar is famous for his Drop Pod Assaults by now a Days he can't get into One. Pure Bull Shit
