"Two Scariest Lies in Our World Right Now" Francis Chan from Doctrine Youth Study - Bluefish TV

For more Francis Chan, follow our updated KZread channel: bit.ly/2MmV8pX
Francis Chan teaches about the sinful condition of mankind, and God's willingness to punish sin in spite of His love for us.
Doctrine
Knowing the Truth and Acting On It
What are the essential beliefs of Christianity? And how should a healthy understanding of doctrinal issues-like The Trinity, the Church, sin and salvation-impact the way we live and act toward God and others?
We will all face times where our faith will be challenged either by other people or by difficult circumstances. That's why it's critical that we have a foundational knowledge of the core beliefs of Christianity and a willing heart to obey God.
In these seven dynamic sessions, students share real-life stories about their own struggles with living out the essentials of their faith on a daily basis. And Francis Chan provides powerful teaching from Scripture and helps teens understand the core of our Christian faith.

The truth is you can do nothing without Jesus and his teachings, you must apply them, visit a voice in the dessert youtube. John:15: “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. 5 “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples. 9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. 10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

Ramon Vallejo You don't know that scripture is truth, you believe that scripture is truth. Faith is faith. It doesn't matter if you have faith that God exists, or that Peter Pan exist. One is not more true than the other, according to their equal complete lack of evidence. There's only one definition of faith. Faith means you believe in something without evidence. If you disagree with this, you don't know what faith means. You don't have the slightest evidence for any of the things you believe, where I have evidence for everything I know. I'm not just looking for any answer, I'm looking for the correct answer, or the closest to it. You should be more skeptic and critical. Good luck.

You don't suck. You are probably about average. Anything "wrong" with humans is God's fault for 1. Designing us this way, 2. Putting a forbidden tree right next to two brand new humans that didnt know right from wrong 3. Designing the "perfect" creation to break/"fall" the second a human doesn't perfectly obey God 4. Making sin hereditary. There is nothing to repent or feel bad about for being born, and it's sickening that you are being told that you have to apologize for existing.

If we don't.. we wouldn't begin to lay aside the "things and stuff" that SEEM so important..to pray and intercede for our families and friends and enemy's.. and get into the Word to find the answers. The "things" of the world keep us so occupied..but we MUST take back that time..and spend it in His presence... calling back.. and crying out for those who need Him..and those who are lost.

+Michael NewZealand People often like to leave out scripture to justify being naughty. Kind of like people twist the bible to make it say not to judge. Very common these days which is sad. People also mix up hell the jail and the lake of fire the prison that is eternal. They don't like the fact that God does punish. They forgot why Jesus Christ saved them apparently. God loved them so much he gave the life of his only begotten Son as payment for mankind so they wouldn't be separated from God. Eternal separation from God is torment and which results in the Lake of Fire. People love themselves a hippie version of the Bible but not the actual Bible.

+Marquis Reid .........There is NO eternal hell…’aionios’ is the Greek word mistranslated as ‘eternal’ in many Bible translations…'aionios' is the Greek word for the Old Testament term, 'olam' and 'olam' definitely does not mean 'eternal'...read the Septuagint, the Greek translation of the Old Testament which was quoted by the New Testament writers many times so the Septuagint is authoritative.....'aionios' appears hundreds of times in the Septuagint Greek translation of the Old Testament, and does NOT mean 'eternal' in the Septuagint Greek Old Testament...therefore the Bible does not teach 'eternal punishment'.

He made everything, so He deserves to write the rules for everything. And whoever writes the rules has the right to deal however they want with anyone who breaks them. Especially when the rules are broken wilfully and repeatedly.

If he claims to be omnipotent omnipresent and omnibenevolent. How can he just punish and smite his perfect creation in your words. If you say because humans are the cause of all even the you have to consider two possibilities that fall solely on the responsibilities of God. 1) he created man as perfect yet with a imperfect will that he knowing full well would result in some of them going to hell. 2) he some how turned of the benevolence aspect of his being and created imperfect things like the a devil serpent knowing Satan would trick and destroy his most perfect creation in his eyes. Either one is a tough pill to swallow. But you seem to be blindly following the undeterminable dispositions of your God, so what say you if he decided to change his mind

Reading 90% of the comments I think yall are missing the message. It is not what Chan believes, it is what God says. By nature we have Sin in us, there is no way that we can be good on our own. "We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment(women menstrual bloody rags). We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away." Isaiah 64. The message is that we all need Jesus, He is the only way to God, not our good works or deeds. Read God's word and find agreement with The Creator not the created. Want to see God's Love? Read Hosea, He loves, He is faithful, He wants us! Even tho we don't. Joy comes in rejoicing in the GOODNESS of God! not ours. This message is from a brother to another, make much of Him :D

How exactly do we correct false doctrines without argument? A world without argument is a world that is apathetic. A world that compromises morality without contention. We are literally told to go and preach repentance unto all nations. A literal impossibility without argument. Christ is not apathetic or passive. He is active in command.

Marius Sørenes lutherans are not christian. Luther was an Apostate because he trusted a false gospel of works for salvation. Yes, he came to realize the truth after self-condemning himself but he still believed in works such as baptismal regeneration. Water baptism is administered after you have already been regenerated to come to repentance and faith. The water was to show you repented(changed your mind to no longer live for dead works) and it was because of and not for the remission of sins because justification is only due to faith and not water baptizing. spiritual regeneration is the Work of The Spirit and not us.

Most churches outwardly idol worship the fake images of jesus, many believe in works salvation, many only hold to two ordinances when their are 4 not just the supper and baptism. Many speak against modesty or tolerate immodesty causing lust to increase, many dont discipline their local and abroad members, most are not non-violent in lifestyle. Most are duped in trying to form a theocracy instead of waiting for Jesus to establish the true one upon His return. Most believe this country was founded by christians when instead it was deists whom formed and influenced the Constitution. Most approve of so called Christian's to judge to death and discipline by enforcing moral law through secular law and government on practiced sinners and saints. Many tolerate and approve homosexuality, women teachers and leaders of men, women apostles and deacons to the pastor etc.etc the list goes on and on of how greatly those professing Christ have fallen away and will continue to fall away until the great apostasy is fulfilled.

Of course, I'd say repentance is personal and needs to be done over prayer.

So many People here are so eager to put this message down or to belittle the Faith. Nobody is talking about "worthlessness". No one said anything about people being worthless. Are you all deef? Yes I said Deef! (deaf) lol. The passage is very clear! The Bible also has a Scripture the mentions this frase, "Seeing they will not see and hearing they will not hear". God made it this way so that scripture and revelation of it would not be found by people who could not care less anyway. Folks who have this life all figured out and hate "religion" love to watch video's like this one and act like they have anything to say about it when the real interpretation of the scripture cant even be known by them unless they truly had a sincerity of heart towards the Lord. Again, no one said anything about worthlessness. The Bible is talking about a person or person who may think that they are good or good enough to go to Heaven without actually receiving Jesus as their personal Savior and without the sacrificial blood that Jesus shed to cover the sin. It say's that there is no one who is "Good", no not even one. Good in the sight of the Almighty is not the good that we humans can even comprehend. You could very well be a person of very High worth but you are still not "Good" in God's eyes. What is worth anyway? And why would so many here think that is what Francis is even talking about. People will grasp at anything and say anything to make sure that they never have to give up they're own desires and they're way of life. The fact is that there is a world full of high worth and lovely people, that God loves by the way, that are going to a place that was created by God for Satan and the demons because they have fallen short of the Glory of God! If you disagree with the Gospel and Christians in General, why not just avoid listening and arguing and go live your life of worth? What a shame that there are so many who God loves so, but who will never really hear or understand. Lord help them.

I feel like the crux of Francis' message is correct -- we all need a Savior -- we need Jesus. He is the only way to heaven. However, there are nuances in what he says that I feel may misrepresent the Father's motives and heart. You could easily hear what he is saying and take it to mean that because God is also "a God of wrath", when we sin He turns His wrath on us and is planning to punish us eternally because of how wrathful He is. I would say that in that situation He still loves us dearly. His wrath is aimed at the sin, not at us. But if we spurn the salvation that Jesus has purchased for us, we are choosing to hang onto the sin in our lives and let it drag us to hell with it. I don't think it's right to equate the devil, the false prophet and the beast with humans in the area of God wanting to punish us eternally. He created humans and said it was very good. Humans are created in His image and likeness. Yes, we will wind up in hell if we don't accept the gift of salvation that Jesus has purchased for us with His death on the cross, but I don't think it's a correct characterization to paint the picture of God wanting to punish us because He is a wrathful God. I could probably get into more nuance, but I think I've said enough. We need Jesus and are doomed without Him, and He and the Father are both wonderful, and loving, and just.

God's wrath is an extension of his love. If you love your child playing in the yard you are going to hate the snake in the grass that's about to bite him. If you hold on to your false identity as a sinner, then the love of god will burn you until you, possibly forever. But there's hope even then: Ps 22:27 "ALL the ends of the world will remember and turn to the Lord, and ALL the families of the nations will worship before you."

I think the hair to split is regarding what the target of God's wrath is. You could easily interpret Francis' message as saying that people who sin are the target of God's wrath, rather than the sin that is entangling them. I agree with your post, though.

Don't believe the wolves in sheep's clothing, they are only to discourage you, make you feel you're never good enough. John14:21 He that hath My Commandments and keepeth them, he it is that loveth Me and he that loveth Me Shall Be LOVED Of My FATHER, and I will love him and will manifest Myself to him. Psalm84:11 For the Lord GOD is a sun and shield, the Lord will give Grace and Glory, no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. One of the scariest Lies that the false prophets and false teachers will teach is that the Ten Commandments were done away with at the Cross, Not true. They know that if you break them you will be left behind and then they can lead you to the One World Religion. It will be a law enforced, and that's the law you are to break, the enemies law.

Actually the wolf in sheep's clothing diminish the Gospel by telling you, you are good. In other words Jesus redeemed people who could be justified by works. That's completely the opposite. If we are good then Jesus Christ is just a foot note to show works not a redeemed who did what we can't. Not only that but at our hearts don't want to-do.

No once saved always saved is real Romans 11:5-6. The misunderstanding is that we choose to be born again by using texts like John 3:16 and John 1:12 out of context. Just saying a prayer doesn't save us. Christ does. Which is very much an act of grace on his part. Yet most ignore that fruit will be produced in a saved life verses continuing to live in sin. We are very much saved by Grace. This is work God does in us Eph 2:7-10 and also Phil 1:6. We do not deserve saving faith nor can we produce this on our own.

So then all Paul says is a lie? Romans 11:5-6 " 5 So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. 6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. Eph 2:8-10 " 8 For by grace you have been savedthrough faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them." Simply put you have misused James to prove our works save us vs Christ's work. James is saying real faith(which comes from God because of the Grace Christ earned,) is alive and active Just like love. Phil 1:6 "and I am sure of this, that he(this would be God) Who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Now at this point I must assume that you put more emphasis on the red letters thinking the whole bible isn't as authoritative. Which I give John 5:39 Scripture is about Christ. But if you think your works save you instead of faith let's look at Romans 3:20 For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin." So which is it? Was Paul wrong? And James right? They are both right. John 1:16 For from his fullness we have have all received, Grace upon Grace. You think you choose to be born again? John 1:13 and Romans 9:16 say other wise. Want red letters? John 3:8 the wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from and where it is going, so is everyone born of the spirit." Add also John and Ezk 36. I will let you read to see if sinful man can work his way into heaven vs God's grace produces fruit in those whom he has chosen to save. All deserve hell. No one deserves heaven, not one. I will agree there is a heresy being taught and that is just pray this prayer and you are saved. 2 Cor 13:5 tells us to examine ourselves. See God chooses to save some and some he chooses not to save. Another great heresy is thinking we do these works and get to heaven. That also is not true. Instead those who God predestined according to his foreknowledge he has chosen to be conformed into the image of Christ. Romans 8 in the 20s. See God isn't up in heaven waiting to see who follows. God is active in the Salvation of his people. God is at work in those whom he has chosen to save.

Stevie Koch actually those are not misunderstood that lead people to once saved always saved. That is actually what scripture teaches. I do not in anyway dismiss obedience to Christ. You will know a tree by its fruit. I am saying(like scripture Romans 11 is pretty clear) you are saved because God chose to save(grace) repentance is an obedient act yet it is granted by God 2 Tim 2:25. Simply put perseverance shows God has chosen to save us.

1 Cor 4:7 For who sees anything different in you? What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast as if you did not receive it?" Stevie Koch this is easy, if God grants repentance, 2 Tim 2:25 God gives saving faith, Eph 2:8-8, and Romans 9:16 says So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy. Romans 11:5-6 5 So too at the present time there is a remnant, chosen by grace. 6 But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace. If you are saved it is by God's grace. You put more emphasis on the red letters when the red letters quote the rest of scripture and are in full support of the rest of scripture. You keep talking about how Jesus never said anything about Grace. How about John 6:44, for starters. Add Ezk 36. God brought you to Christ. In other words it was God's decision to heal you. If that ain't Grace that he would give the Holy Spirit that you may be conformed to the image of Christ then I don't know what is. Romans 9:11 1 though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad-in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls-" If you are truly obedient as you say it's cause God chose you before hand to save you. For his names sake not yours. Its about him, his glory, his love, his goodness. There is none in you apart from the Holy Spirit. Romans 8:9 " You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if in fact the Spirit of God dwells in you. Anyone who does not have the Spirit of Christ does not belong to him." You can preach your works all day but you don't choose to born again anymore than you chose to be born the first time John 1:13. As for me I will boast in Christ. Not my works, not my sin. I love him because he first loved me. This means I obey him because he chose me. Not he chose me because I obey(how did works, work out for the Pharisees) John 10:26 " but you do not believe because you are not among my sheep." The cause of them not believing is because they don't belong. If you are saved it isn't cause of your works that's just the proof in the pudding. But what works do you have? Hoses 6:6 and Matt 9:13 show my works.

Drifter 003 but you're not a robot.....you make decisions on your own, no? Or are you blaming God and others for the choices you have made? By nature (genetically) yes you are a sinner but you are also a sinner by thoughts, motives and deeds. You choose to do evil even when you know that what you are doing is wrong. Everyone has done this. So you are guilty before a perfect and holy God. There is none righteous or good, we all cleave to doing evil. And when we do them, we have absolutely no concern how our actions affect others, ourselves and ultimately the One who created us. Because of this we ALL stand guilty before God. He is right in judging us for how we choose to live our lives, just like a judge is just for sentencing a "bad" (society's standard) person to punishment. Does this person not have free will? Aren't they supposed to be allowed to do whatever they want since this is the country of freedom? Who cares if he kills someone, rapes a person, robs a bank. He has free will! Do you see how detrimental that thought process is. God gave us free will because He wants us to choose wisdom, to choose to want to do right and ultimately to choose to love Him not out of force but out of willfulness. Those who choose evil over the love of God, are in themselves worthless. Why are you sticking around for, to cause more harm to the world, to people? It makes no sense and that is why God is going to get rid of every evil doer.

Btw ..the wages of sin is DEATH ..that is the consequence ..as you can see we are all dying. Jesus came so that you may have eternal life and save us from perishing, if only you would believe n put your trust in Him completely. This is an act of someone who is NOT guilty, as we are, taking our punishment as if they have committed the crime just so that you can go free. You are the sinner, you are the one who chooses to do wrong, Yet Jesus who never sinned died and bore the sins of the world in order for you and I to be freed from Gods righteous anger, which we rightfully deserve. God cleansed the world of wickedness by flooding the earth with water, when He comes back He will cleanse the earth this time with fire, and sin/evil will be no more. If you choose to ignore Gods gift of grace n mercy, and you're caught in your sin, you will be left on this earth n perish in that cleansing of fire. He's getting rid of sin forever, that is the punishment, not that you will be burning forever for fun. Your punishment is eternal, there will be no more of you because you were too consumed in your sin to head to Gods warning.

Jenny Anderson , I used to be christian myself and getting out of the Christian cult is one the best thing I've done for my self. I realized it was all nonsense. I mean how can one not see all the horrible things described in the OT . Murder, rape, incest, slavery just to name a few. Christians ignore those part of the bible and cherry pick whats palatable to them. Just look at the whole christian doctrine. We are all screwed just because the first two people god chose to be in the garden "disobeyed" . Do you really believe a talking snake screwed up all god's plan so bad that he'd have to go for plan B OR is all part of his sick game? That the whole humanity is now deserving of eternal burning in hell? Eternal. Let that sink your head for a minute. Not unless of course he sacrifices himself to himself. Are you telling me that the god you call all knowing did not know humanity would screw up? He didn't know he'd have to drown all humans and animals on the planet minus 8 people and 2 of each animals? All because a snake or the devil whom HE shouldn't have never put in the garden in the first place, fucked up all humanity? Don't know about you but I think that's so goddamned immoral. Consider a situation where a father leaves his toddler in a room with a pistol. He tells him not to touch the gun or he could die. Of course the child doesn't know any better , picks up the gun and shoots himself accidentally. Do you blame the innocent child or the father? The father stood there watched his child die. Of course he couldn't intervene, he loves him so much he can't possible take away the child's "freewill" . Wake up! What you call freewill is ultimatum. Believe or burn forever. Aren't you tired of going through cognitive dissonance? Your bible tells you whatever you ask will be given to you. When your prayer doesn't get answered you say it's not "gods will" to resolve that disharmony in your head. Instead facing the possibility that god doesn't exist , you choose to lie to lie to your self and say "it's not the right time" ,,,"it's not god's will " blah blah . I say why the hell pray in the first place if that's the case.

Drifter 003 I can see just by your response, that you have a personal issue with God. Trust that I wasn't always a believer, used to be just like you. I grew up in a religion, my mom brought me up as a Catholic but I started doing my own thing seeing as my mom was a hypocrite who talked down on certain behaviors that were "ungodly" all the while enjoying partaking in her own sin. That made me question a lot n I hated God because well "why are Gods people so judgmental and hypocritical, He must be the same way." For years I stopped going to church, started drinking, sex, kinda did whatever I wanted to do and it felt liberating to me....at first. Then everything started seeping in, all of this I was doing which were fun, but are temporary. Deep inside I was angry, bitter, suicidal and no matter how much I tried to find true peace, wasn't working for me. By the middle of 2014, It was something drawing me, I all of a sudden started thinking about God but it wasn't til my breaking point in April 2015, I finally opened my mouth n cried out to God out of desperation n brokenness over the way I was living, He finally was able to make a way into my life. Don't get me wrong, I think it's essential that everyone breaks away from their religion, so that they can go searching for love in the things of this world, only to figure out that those things can't satisfy you. That within itself rains true that "no one seeks God and everyone sins and goes there own way." You have a huge misconception of who God is my friend, n you also have a huge misconception of who we are as humans. We make choices everyday on our own, if we can be quite honest, we can make some very bad and selfish choices. Take a look around you, this world is full of evil messed up stuff and they are all the effects of HUMANS. Humans rape, humans murder, humans lie, humans steal, humans cheat and it is all in our free will that we choose to do these evil things. You call yourself a drone as if you or anybody else do not make choices on their own, as if God is controlling your every move. God gives us options; how will you know what is good without evil, how would you know what is happiness without once being sad. With Adam and Eve, God supplied them with EVERYTHING; He literally gave them everything, they legit lacked nothing and yet in their want to be like God, feeling as if God was keeping them from something greater, they disobeyed Gods one rule. God warned them that they would die, they didn't listen n now we are all dying as a consequence. Satan only presented the idea to them, they ran along with it. The Bible refers to a serpent as Satan. He's not some big red creature like form with horns lol as most like to paint him. He is sneaky though and very deceptive, I mean he deceived the entire world. You discredit the Bible because they say things like "The serpent deceived them ..." In revelation it speaks about BEASTS arising from the waters people will look at this and think it's literal. Surely someone can read the Bible and have absolutely NO idea what it's truly saying because it's spiritual, you only see it with your bias thinking. Only God who inspired it can reveal to you what's actually being said in His word. You speak about His omniscience, that He knew beforehand that all of this would happen. That humanity would be deceived n He would have to flood the earth , and all of these things would come with it. Understand that we are created in Gods image, which means He created us with emotions just like Him, He created us wisdom and knowledge, He created us with a conscience against right and wrong which means that EVERYONE knows whether or not they are violating that conscience. God knows the difference between Good and evil and yet He can not sin. We know the difference between Good and Evil and yet we constantly choose to do evil. Why? And why do we glorify doing evil; why do we glorify lying to each other, to killing one another, sacrificing babies etc. We only see a glimpse of what humans are capable of doing, imagine God who sees EVERYTHING, knows our hearts, our motives, He sees what people do behind closed doors, imagine how He feels. He flooded the earth because people were So wicked, and He even warned them FOR YEARS to turn from their evil ways n they still didn't want to out of pride and love for their sins. Like I said in my previous post, He gave us free will so that we would choose to do want to do right, and also choose His love over our selfish needs and actions but unfortunately we don't. God knowing that His own creation would turn their backs on Him, that He would have to come don to reconcile His children back unto Him, that it would be a long pursuit of winning back the very people He created and hate Him says a lot about His good character and not ours. When He gave us free will and didn't create robots, He gambled with His heart knowing that some His own creation would love Him and some will downright hate Him. As for judgement, God is the very essence of love and because He is love, He's getting rid of the very thing that causes suffering in the world (sin) and all who partake in it. Hell is a doctrine of fear created by the Catholic Church to get you to follow their religion or burn. That's not even biblical. Jesus said " For God so loved the world, He sent his son that whoever believes in Him, won't PERISH (die) but have everlasting life. Jesus did not come to save us from an eternal place of torment because it doesn't exist, He came to give us life and to deliver us from the grips of sin and death. Simple. However, same way He once flooded the earth to get rid of sin, next time He will cleanse this earth with fire and ALL sin, the effects of sin and anyone wrapped up in sin are going to PERISH in it and they will be no more. No more hurting, no more crying because everyone who enjoyed and NEVER felt the need to ask God for help to change will cease to exist completely. Sounds pretty fair and loving to me. As for the Bible condoning rape, murder, incest. Where?? The Bible RECORDED the lives of people, people did these things, that doesn't mean God agreed with the actions of them. The Bible recorded that people were burning their babies and offering them as sacrifices to their idols, and never did God say He condoned it, if anything He punished them for it. Please read in context. The example I provided is me telling you that God is a judge and there are consequences for our actions. There is no moral outside of God..who makes it up? Do we along the way choose what's right and what's wrong? Thats dumb. A moral standard is already set in stone and that moral is God. Sure, if you want to compare your goodness to those of the world then yes you'll always find someone worse than you, but compare it to God who is perfect, you'll see that you have fallen short. You don't need religion to tell you that obviously, you have a conscience and you know right from wrong but doesn't mean you don't go against your conscience and still choose to do wrong. For that God will judge you also. There are absolute laws that we as humans have all broken before God and there are consequences for breaking them which is death. The purpose of the Gospel is not to turn bad people good and good people more good, the point is to bring dead people back to life. Before God we are all dead in our sin but having faith in Jesus will give us eternal life, a prosperous life, here on earth and eternally. God still being merciful and gracious, pays for our debt so that we can go free and we still don't take it? How stubborn and prideful can we be. What you're really saying is "Thanks but no thanks God, I know that what I'm doing is wrong and is worthy of death n I really just don't care. I don't need your mercy or your grace, I'll just take this punishment on myself" n surely he'll give you what you want, since you think you can handle standing before a holy and righteous God. Even in our disobedience and unbelief in Him, He extends His hand still n we reject it. I'm sorry that you felt as if your prayers were never answered and I know it's not something you want to hear but a lot of things do happen that we don't understand why. However, your sin separates you from God period, whether it's because you have guilt and shame because of your sin that makes you feel as if He doesn't love you or you just hate Him because of the actions of infallible man. Unless you put your pride aside and humble yourself, you will continue to have misconceptions of who God is. You may view my beliefs in God as brainwash, I mean we're all brainwashed by something lol; you're brainwashed by society's thinking, by a bunch of changeable theories and just can't seem to figure out the truth or why you were even brought here on earth. This world is under the bondage of their feelings, emotions, basically whatever their body tells them to do they do it and ultimately people are under the bondage of death. I find it funny that people fear death n hate the idea of it but run to the very things that end up killing them not only physically but mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Without God people are walking dead men but they think that they are so free. We think we can live a peaceful prosperous life spiritually without involving the very One who gives us this breath to breathe everyday. We think we can work our way to Heaven although he clearly tells us that no one is perfect, no one is good and the only way to Him is to accept Jesus. "Nope, nope but we feed the homeless, we are nice to people sometimes, we donate blood, we really are good. I mean it's not like I murder people like him, or rape people like that scum over there. I might lie a few times here and there, or steal only when I really need to, punch someone in the face if they get on my nerves, but I'm not even THAT bad." Lol but you're still bad tho..How highly and self righteous of us.

Drifter 003 And btw there are bunch of people who are Christians by name and not by action or faith in Jesus. God deals with those people as well, they are called hypocrites because they claim to know Him but their hearts are far from Him. Religious people even killed Jesus so that should say a lot about how God wants to know us personally and not through religion. Religious people are self righteous and a lot of them come in the name of Christianity, doesn't mean that they know God and God is working through them because they even persecuted Him. Oh yea and the Bible does say ask and it shall be given to you. God is not some Genie who is here to fulfill your wishes, He is a father and the Creator of everything including us. He knows us better than we know ourselves. Sometimes what we ask for is often very destructive for us and He doesn't give it to us, we hate Him. We want a God who thinks just like us, likes the same thing we desire and gives us everything we ask for, but then that means God wouldnt be God, He would be ..well..us. 1. This request isn't speaking to sinners, you need to first reconcile to God in order for Him to hear your prayers 2. "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!” Is this what you were referring to? Lol again read in context. He's speaking about receiving the Holy Spirit. Ask and it shall be given to you.... Lastly, As for me, finally coming into the truth of God, finally knowing that I have purpose, that I am not alone and don't need to feel alone because I have father in Heaven who loves me and thought I was worthy enough to die for has given me all of the peace that I need. I am so much more free now that I acknowledge God for who He is and that I'm forgiven for all of the things that I've did prior to knowing Him. Its very much available to you too but you need to un harden your heart towards Him cus He wants relationship with you. You are clearly hurting about something that I don't know about, but He knows, humble yourself and cast your cares to Him, ask for help whatever but don't be bitter toward a God you don't even seem to believe in. He doesn't force himself on anyone, He's just waiting for you to let Him in. God bless you, I hope this helped in some way, whatever questions you have bring them to Him, I can promise you without a doubt, He'll reveal those answers to you. Not through blind faith, I say this through experience because He has done it for me. ❤

I believe his point is that being a "good person" is one thing, being "good" is another thing. If I compare myself to other people, I am a good person in general. If I compare myself to God, I am certainly not good. The Good News is that while we were yet sinners, God loved (and still loves) us so much to send Christ to die on our behalf. By God's grace He WILL greet us his children with divine perfect love, but it is because of His grace, not our goodness. I find that encouraging.

Only Jesus Christ can cleanses you from your sins. No one of us is able to be without sin. “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” [1Jn 1:6-10] "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments." [1Jn 2:1 - 3]

Chan's point is that no one is truly "good" on their own. In fact, we're so wicked that Jesus had to suffer immeasurably so that we could be restored. That is the fundamental truth of Mark 10:18. If there is any good in you, it is not your goodness, but God's goodness that is being manifested. Without God, you cannot call yourself a "good person" by divine standards. This shouldn't be news to anyone who claims to be a Christian, and therefore no Christian should be depressed by this truth.

SwordofManticorE My friend these people, as well as Chan, have given you wisdom. If there is any true good in you it is Christ alone. Isaiah 64:6 "We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment. We all fade like a leaf, and our iniquities, like the wind, take us away." This isn't just for then. It's all mankind. That guilt you feel is meant to point you to Christ and his goodness. The purpose of conviction and coming to the conclusion we are saved cause God chose to save us and for no other reason. Romans 9:16 "16 So then it depends not on human will or exertion,[b] but on God, who has mercy." You are saved not cause God some good in you. You are saved because God is good. May what grace truly is shine so you may see God's goodness. Not yours.

False teaching he removed the verse from context. If you read further you will see that the verse is making the point we are all sinners by the law but that Jesus redemned us from the law. We are perfect through the blood of Jesus Christ. Romans 3: 19 thru 25 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Romans 3:19‭-‬25 KJV bible.com/bible/1/rom.3.19-25.KJV

Calling these beliefs lies, based on nothing but your own beliefs in the truth of the bible (which is written by man and full of contradictions) seems foolish to me. Also your beliefs are an ideology of fear. What is the worth of the struggle to be a good person when it only happens because of the fear of punishment?

OFCLREALMinistries It might be because I watch a bunch of political stuff and in the US that often intersects with religion. It might also simply be because I recently watched something with "lies" in the title. Who knows. Anyways, I believe it is fruitful to expose yourself to beliefs and philosophies that you don`t share, because it helps you to understand other people and sometimes you even find them to have good points, which causes self-reflection.

Seeric85 You have a really awesome point, why would anyone just do something out of fear? It seems like many Christians are simply motivated by fear of Hell - a lot like other religions, sad... But Jesus actually said that He was a treasure so valuable that we could give up everything just to follow him, and gain much much more in Him! If you watch more of Chan's videos he explains that... Anyway, the bible says we all need Jesus to have eternal life, but it's more about reward than punishment, because having a relationship Jesus is so worth it! Thanks...

Seeric85 I hope you take the time to read this. So what is your belief? We all have a belief. if you choose not to believe it is still a belief. if you believe in nothing, well then where did all the something come from. If you believe in the big bang and then the evolution of species you still have a belief. The thought for me is this. Christians are told at times that we have a blind faith. Now I can understand that statement on it's own. Now to believe in nothing is pretty silly as there is clearly something that must of started it all. Yet still a belief. Then the "wise" people of today say that it was the big bang, or that there was a little ball of something that spun out the universe and so forth. Problem is so many have pulled that theory apart who are non-religious and have showed it has too many flaws. Yet this theory is pushed as truth. But that doesn't even worry me that much. We all have a belief. The thing that makes me wonder is why am I here, what is this all for, and what happens to me when I die? Everybody in some way or another either by science or religion is trying to answers these questions. Truth is we all want to know the answer to this or have thought about it and choose not to give it any more thought as it can really stress you out. For if there is a God, then I need to find out what He wants, what is His deal and I would need to change while I am enjoying the pleasures that this God calls sin. But that is still not what I am trying to get at. We have a blind faith yet I fail to see how. The whole big bang theory or whatever they might be calling it now on a deeper level says, I came from whatever started it all so many billion of years ago. That I am here for no other reason than just pure chance of evolution and when I die I go absolutely no where. So as a criminal I might spend some time in jail, or I might have had a terrible life been raped and abused. It makes no difference because when I die we all gone and nothing matters. There is no justice for those who have had a terrible life or for the criminals and greedy people who take advantage of the system and abuse people. So if I kill someone it doesn't matter. Sure we can say evolution has evolved us to care and have morals as such. But who decides what is correct moral behavior? I see evolution not as something smart and in fact a greater step of blind faith. Yes there are bad people who claim to be Christians but actually have no intention of doing what Jesus actually taught. There are bad people period who do evil things period. Joseph Staling did many evils in the name of evolution. So many evil people did so much evil in view of that like Hitler too. Who by evolution believed German people where the superior races. Then you can look at the Christian crusades and point fingers at people who thought they where christian and did many evils in the name of God. That alone doesn't prove that Christianity is not real. it proofs men are evil. Blind faith I don't think so. I believe evolution is a blind faith. We say God created us for a purpose and when we die we can spend eternity with him if we choose Him. It is not based on fear of punishment. Yes as a good God who has to judge fairly, he must act for justice as well. Suppose you where in court for a crime you never did, and the judge gives you a unfair trail and sends you to jail without hearing your case. Would you call him a fair judge. Now God gives us a free will to chose life or to chose life without Him. That choice is up to you and no one can force you. He provides a way out, what seems so foolish but yet in it is life. He sends His Son to die for our sins offering us a mercy and grace free of charge. We only got to believe. God promises us that no matter what if you believe in Him you are saved. We only have to fear punishment if we going somewhere bad. Now if that same judge had to judge you for a crime you did do, and he provided a way out for you. A way out which means you never have to suffer or go to jail, the question is would you take it? Also you would see that this judge also cares for you. This is what God has done. But he wants our hearts. He wants you to choose Him as He has chosen you. If he forces you to choose then he hasn't got your heart. Yet we must choose now, for one day it will be to late and God would say I gave you so many opportunities to take my free pardon for your sins. Any man that looks at this world and draws the conclusion that there is no God has allowed his heart to be blinded for the sake of his/her own conscious because what they really want is not to accept there is a God. Because that would mean I would have to change. To change a bad habit for something good is hardly a given up of something. We all want to do good, that is why we believe we not so bad and believe we actually good people. God just wants to give you what you really want and the ability through and by Jesus only to have life and that in abundance. Will there still be troubles. everyday. My family is a mess, and I have a no easy life even as a Christian. I just have a secure hope in Christ. I sin and make mistakes all the time. Though I know that when I die because I believe in Jesus I will be in a better place. I believe God is God and therefore I have no right as a created human to tell God how He is to ran His creation and what rules He should make. Yet I am sure glad that He showed me Jesus and gave me a pardon because of Jesus. By that I am free to live life without the fear of punishment irrespective of my sins I have done and will do. I do make every effort to live a life that will honor God, but I can only do that by faith and faith alone. Faith in Jesus pleases God. He is a easy God to please. Just believe in Jesus and allow Him into your life and He will do the work in you. I am really sorry that all you have seen maybe is just terrible professing Christians claiming to know Jesus make true Christianity and what it really stands for seem silly and stupid. I hope this helps you see that there is more, and I ask that you don't judge us by the few wolves in sheep's clothes as we won't judge you by what you think of us. There is so much more to this life than what we see. No true Christian is after your money either. In fact we don't even really care for it. We know you need it to do things with in this life, but it holds no sway on us. People that want your money, I would also tell you to be careful of them. People that say one thing and quickly do another. I would also say be careful of them. In the end it will only be God who judges you. So don't worry about those who make Christianity seem bad for they can do nothing for you. Cheers

Michael Pretorius Hey there. I took the time to read through your reply. Let me start by telling you a bit about me and my approach to these matters. I was raised a protestant in Germany and believed in God for most of my early life. I started to have serious doubts around the time I was 15-16 and lost my faith in God. Today I could not tell you what it was in particular that caused this. I remember I went through a phase where I was that typical edgy atheist kid that thinks religion was the worst thing to happen to humanity. I left that behind as well, and today, as an adult, I would rather describe myself as a skeptic than an atheist. I do not believe in easy answers when it comes to the nature of our existence. I do however believe that evolution is a real thing, since it is scientific consensus and can be observed in nature. Obvious examples that are very clear to a layman is the breeding of domesticated animals. Are you aware of the silver fox domestication project that the Soviets started in the 50's? Today we can observe the results of that, with only 50 years of selective breeding causing significant changes in behaviour and appearance of the foxes. The existence of evolution however does not disprove the existence of a God or in fact the christian God. I do not think less of people because they are religious, in fact, I am a bit envious when it comes to people like you who have such strong convictions. It offers answers to questions that I will probably never be able to answer and makes life easier in general. However I can not lie to myself and start believeing in something that my rational mind is telling me is not true. When I observe the world around me I see nothing that fits the christian myths of the allmighty creator. To me the world around me is chaotic struggle for survival and superiority, were the strong and adaptive thrive. The inherent value of moral behaviour, "being a good person" as they call it, from a distanced view is that it is a human survival mechanism. Forming social bonds is inherently importent for our success as a species. But that is only the distanced view. Being "a good person", being moral and respecting others feels right to me. That is why I strive to be a better person. I am listening to my instincts. On some level I believe most of what we do to be biological determinism, but that doesn`t devalue my actions or me as a person, at least in my own eyes. I also believe in a personal code of honour, but that is a very subjective personal philosophy.

PROOF TEXTING... YOU ARE DISCREDITED.... You evangelical protestants have no clue what you are talking about. You are doing more harm to the Christian people than any other group. In Genesis God called his creation good. Humanity is part of creation. Going by your argument, is no is good than why was Noah saved? Also, there will be a final judgement... not punishment.

It is frightening that this is how christians view the world. To say that there is not one good person in the world with so much conviction because of a book that makes many false claims like curing leprosy with dipping a bird in another dead bird's blood makes me question the future of humanity.

James I see where the supposed discrepancy is. The passage instructs on ceremonial cleansing for, not the curing of, leprosy. Notice that cleansing and curing are not synonymous. In fact, verse 3 makes it clear that this ceremony was only to be performed if the man no longer had leprosy. I hope that clarifies it for you. As for the topic of the clean vs unclean (which is _not_ synonymous with "sinful"), that requires a much deeper study on why the Levitical laws even exist. It is the ignorance of many skeptics that cause them to question such laws in the first place. Any other supposed "false claims" you'd like to reference? I'd be more than happy to dig into them for you. On another note, I have a challenge for you. Most atheists disbelieve in God because they've bought into the ridiculing argument that Christians don't think or do their research. Yet many of these atheists haven't done proper research for themselves. My challenge is this - discard any prejudice you have against Christianity and look at their beliefs yourself as objectively as possible. Read the Bible. If that's too much, read the first four or five books of the New Testament - Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Acts. Study the historical narrative and conclude for yourself whether or not Jesus is legit. Furthermore, I'll make myself available if you have any questions or challenges about God, providing you keep an open mind to the possibility that faith in God really isn't all that irrational. My email is pixelsage@gmail.com, if you ever want to reach me.

James Christians view people(not the world which needs to be defined) as needing a savior. We view things(people, places, animals) which in some cases means the world(other cases it means behavior and flaws) by God's word. It says we can't do this. That even our good is evil by God's standard cause it's actually done for ourselves. Selfish purposes. Let me clarify please, If we do things for our own reason's even by what we call selflessly it's still done according to our purposes and not the creator's purposes. Does that make sense? Basically evil is thinking we don't need God and our ways are better. At our core this is who we are(yes even Christians) repentance(change of heart and admittance we got it wrong in any degree at even our best moments) is a life long process for any believer. What you see preached and even lived out today(on the most visible level think TBN and such) is actually a perversion of real Christian faith. Which is what makes this so hard cause non believers do not pose the greatest threats or arguments against Christianity it is professing believers(some very sincere and most visibly(Joel Osteen even) those who don't actually know anything about true Faith in Christ. Christianity offers a very viable solution to the problems of the world. That is one God gets to define the purposes of everything, two: by showing us it is impossible to work to get eternal life, has provided the means to be reconciled with God by believing Christ was enough.(this is very hard for people even some of the most faithful Christians still get caught up in works at times.) We like to think we can earn things and we are capable. This is why Christ was healing people all the time. It wasn't just about the physical, the physical healings actually represents our souls and what Christ does for us. In our souls we are all lepers and paralytics. handicapped if you will. Hope I made sense. BTW PixelSage and I are just kinda roaming around together I hope you don't mind me butting in. If so just say the word and I will shut up.
