Two RASHES one TICK - How to Identify a Tick Rash

Lyme disease does not always present with one definitive rash. In fact, the deer tick is responsible for many different presentations of rashes. In medicine, there are many variations of presentations of zoonotic illness. The more one is aware of the various presentations the quicker one can present for labs and treatment. Lyme disease, as with other tick-bourne illnesses, should not be delayed for medical intervention. The quicker the antibiotic treatment is implemented one decreases long term side effects. Rashes, joint pain, and fatigue are a few of the symptoms you should be aware of. If you have a story of a tick bite or know someone who does, please feel free to share. Education is the key and awareness of prevention. Stay safe.

The last story is very similar to my own. I had a non-itchy disseminated rash (no bullseye) and was prescribed a topical steroid cream and cycle of 60mg prednisone. When I didn’t improve I went to a different doctor and was prescribed 250mg clarithromycin and still didn’t improve. Never figured out what it was. I had a myriad of symptoms, but the chief among them was the excruciating muscle and joint pain. Then a year and a half later I had the same episode of illness. No symptoms between flares.

I hate to be so graphic but i pulled a tick off the end of my tallywacker about 2 weeks ago. Theres still a mark at the site of the bite and i have an extremely itchy rash all over it now as well as my lower abdomen. Should i see a doctor or should it go away on its own?

See a Doc....rash can be allergic or lyme. Definitely do not roll dice on that.

I was bitten by a tick (white dot in the center of its back) 2 days ago. I pulled it out of my shoulder and it came out intact. The place is now watery like a blister when I scratch it. It itches pretty bad. It has been cold here (Mississippi)still so I was surprised but I had been in the woods the day before. We are in the woods a lot and I’ve found a number of ticks on me over the years. This one was under my bra strap on top of my shoulder.

That was a male lone star tick. If it was not on you greater than 24 hours then that's a plus. Topical Benadryl or topical steroid cream should help with the itching. Concerns? You see your health care provider.

I have a circular rash on the back of my legs and it itches? Does itching mean its not Lyme disease?

Nothing is 100% in medicine. Strongly advise getting it checked out.

@@SurviveOutdoors Thank you for your response. I've read that lyme rashes don't itch so I guess I'm in the clear. Personally don't believe in western medicine so taking natural antibiotics and trusting in the Lord for my healing. Thanks again, sir.
