TWO railtours, BOWLED twice and a load of rubbish!!! Half an hour at Warrington BQ. 5th June 2024
Half an hour at Warrington Bank Quay station to see 2 railtours.
First to arrive was class 40, D213 Andania, with The Bucket & Spade ( charity ) charter, returning from Scarborough to Crewe. While waiting for the second one, 66652 passes through with the Knowsley to Wilton bin liner.
A few minutes later, the second steam hauled railtour, by A4 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley, The Settle & Carlisle Fellsman was due to arrive, BUT a nail biting few minutes for those of us on the opposite platform! A Glasgow bound pendolino pulled into platform3 as the A4 arrived.
A quick walk to see SNG depart, BUT another, Euston bound pendo was in the way!!
At least the sun came out as 60007 left for Crewe. 5th June 2024

Great video, shame about the two Pendos but at least you weren't completely bowled by either. D213 sounded great as always

Cracking sound of D213 departing, what a shame the 2nd pendo came in Sir Nigel would of looked good side on in the sun

A great sound. To be honest Colin, there were so many people on that platform, I didn't miss much.
really nice set. SNG torpedoes Pendolino to show sream is still king. SNG appears on the other side and wounded pendolino staggers off in pursuit.

Cracking vid! In 4 years of commuting between New St and WBQ I never saw anything remotely interesting! It was great to see SNG & the second Pendo side by side in profile. Pretty much exactly the same shape.

You weren't bowled at all. The second Pendolino stayed put till SNG was out of sight, before his move came along. Some Drivers are very considerate towards you, and will make sure their trains don't move till you get what you want. You ought to be grateful.

Yes I was grateful, and yes some drivers are very considerate, although sometimes they have no choice.
A rare opportunity to compare the aerodynamic front curvature of an A4 with a Pendolino. I always thought they were pretty similar.
