Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit (Piano Cover) - Kirby & the Forgotten Land

Музыка

Game: Kirby & The Forgotten Land
Song: Two Planets Approach the Roche Limit (Final Boss/Vs. Fecto ___)
Based on an arrangement by HAMNOKUNSEI: musescore.com/user/10620761/s...
I was originally intending to wait until I finished playing Forgotten Land to cover any of the excellent songs, but the power of KZread recommendations showed this to me and I knew I needed to cover it both because as a student of astrophysics I adore the title and because it's an excellent composition! The sort of "organized chaos" present throughout this, the longest single-movement Kirby song, is a fascinating blend of the styles from several earlier boss themes.
Again special thanks to HAMNOKUNSEI for arranging the song for piano. This version is largely based off of that, but I cut out the additional sections from v2 of the song as well as reducing the repeats to highlight my favorite portions. I also added a small solo near the end as every other Modern Kirby final boss theme includes either "Green Greens" or "Kirby's Triumphant Return" so I decided that omission needed to be corrected here. Finally, while the entire piece is performed on solo piano (with different MIDI settings on the left and right hands), partway through I added a second set of pianos with heavier synth settings to highlight the instrumental and tonal change in phase 2 of the actual boss fight.
Perhaps someday we'll return to tackle a full instrumental cover, but for now enjoy the piano performance as Kirby turns 30 this week!

The addition of Green Green put me off very slightly, as I personally felt that the omission was very intentional by the original composer, but that does not take away from my enjoyment of this cover. Great job!

Thank you, and I appreciate the thoughtful criticism! I can definitely see how the transitions into that segment could be a bit abrupt and I do certainly appreciate the uniqueness lent to the original by not including that, but I ultimately enjoy adding a little reference like that and I'm glad you still liked the cover overall. :-)

I don't get to say this often but when the situation calls for it I relish using these words this cover is absolutely and most definitely a TOUR DE FORCE! it is almost impossible to use this term without sounding pretentious so thank you for meeting the requirements and for being a great artist that always helps too!

Definitely one of my favorite differences between the modern Kirby platformers (starting with Return to Dreamland) and the classic set from Dream Land 1 to Kirby 64 is that the track titles just start becoming more and more ridiculous like this. I appreciate the scientific representation but it sounds fake when I try to tell my family what songs I've learned recently. XD

I feel like you are missing out on a ton of great titles such as forgotten land and returns to dreamland (this one is very similar to Super Star)

Forgotten Land has one of my favorite final boss themes, and this piano cover does a great job capturing the chaotic and syncopated feel from the original. Nicely done!

Thank you!! The melody has an interesting variety and really lends to that chaos here, but I didn't really appreciate until playing it how much the sporadic rhythms drive the piece forwards.
