To all those writing nasty comments about Kodiak’s first adopter, please remember that she did the responsible thing and contacted Hannah. She could have abandoned Kodiak outside and no one would have known. Sometimes situations don’t work out. I have more respect for her because she returned Kodiak. She obviously cared enough to do that.

exactly my thoughts! better to return a kitten u cant care for than not caring for it. ofc the mistake was adopting her at the first place but we all make mistakes. they already had a cat so theyre no people who didnt know how to deal with a cat.

Positive; The fact that Kodiak's apprehensive adopter actually had the sense to return her, as opposed to keeping her after realizing she wasn't ready for a kitten, or WORSE...

It kinda disgusts me that people put down animals who are perfectly healthy just because they weren’t prepared for them It’s so selfish, like one of my friends was joking about her putting down her young puppy because the puppy was hyper and a bit aggressive They didn’t even put in the effort to train it

Yes but there are ways to accept it. First, the kitten doesn't stay a kitten. So he/she graduated to a forever home. Second, one kitten's graduation makes it possible for more kittens to be helped by the Kitten Lady. It's still not easy but the cycle of life thing gets one to move forward and help a new kitten.

It's really freaking hard. Every foster kitten I've had has been super hard to part ways. But in the end, you saved a life and have room to do it again with another unfortunate kitten, so you gotta just keep going on.

Kittens are nuts. When I was fostering 3 kitties, I had taped off the crawlspace so that they couldn't climb up on the water heater and get lost or hurt. When I came out of there, with cobwebs and dust bunnies all in my hair, they had disappeared. I finally figured out that they had wedged themselves, all three of them, into another crawlspace I didn't even know existed! I had a 12-hour panic attack wondering what I would do -- get the landlord to bust down the wall? What if they got hurt back there? What if there were rats back there? What if they couldn't figure out how to get out??? Then, once it got dark, they squeezed themselves out of there like it ain't no thang and wanted to be fed. I was so relieved and so pissed off. Oh, and they were absolutely FILTHY. Kittens are insane. Cute but insane.

I had a similar thing happen when I had my kitten. He got into a hole and I almost had a heart attack and kittens myself. The hole went from a kitchen store room to one side of my apartment. I wasn’t sure how far it went. I shook a toy and treats and called him. But he wasn’t coming. Soon enough he poked his head out of the hole. However there was a wide pipe between where I was standing and the hole and the space was so small that I could not reach out and grab him. He would not come for a treat either and was just being a proper little monkey. I soon gave up and figured that he would come when he wanted food. So I went and resumed what I had been doing, which was cleaning his litter box. Soon enough when I turned around, he was sitting right in the bathroom doorway with a face full of dust and cobwebs. I was not impressed, but glad that he finally decided to make a reappearance. I quickly made sure to block the hole off though. As I said, he was a little monkey. He was like a miniature toddler in a furry body. I wanted to keep him in. But that was getting increasingly difficult. As soon as I got home from being out, he would dash out of my apartment into the stairway. I was also too afraid of having the windows open because he would hang partly outside of them. One day one of the girls I was sharing with said that he had gotten out and was trying to get back in through the bathroom window. She had been passing the bathroom when a figure jumping up caught her eye and soon realised it was him. There was scaffolding outside and he was on it. She climbed out of the window to get him. She got him and passed him to me. My landlord wouldn’t allow me to keep him. But that was probably a good thing than there being an accident and him getting injured or worse. He got rehomed to a much more adequate place where he could roam around and was at much less a risk of being run over or falling out of a window.

I believe that cats give out a special kind of energy for humans...if you need an extra boost, adopt a cat or kitten. I did when I was in my teens; I adopted two kittens. My life was definitely richer after I did it. Now, I’m in my late forties, I’m thinking about getting another furry friend or two again🧶🧶🤞🏼

I literally cried while watching this. My cat, my bestie. Mr George, died from a virus that I tried everyday to fight with him. Sadly at the age 12 he died.. and I loved him and pet him till the very last breath. I’m so glad hank recovered from her Virus though ♥️ this was an inspiring video and I should really get another kitten soon (:

I feel you. . .my little fur bud has passed at almost 19years. Not even "my" cat, its my girlfriends cat. I cried. Now I have (we have) 2 new brothers (kittens) who are living with us. Getting stronger every day. One was sickly and the others a beast. A BEAST! They drive me nuts. I love them. "We" love them!

I'm still sad about all the cats and other animals that have left in my life, but I will always have love to share with others that come along. Have 3 cats now that I got off the street and a young doggie and they bring joy every day. :)

When Hannah stared crying at the end when Hank and Kodiak were heading out to their forever home...... Yeah I cried too lol Happy trails Hank and Kodi, it certainly was an adventure watching you get to where you are now 💗

i’m proud of the person who returned kodi. it takes a strong person to admit you made the wrong choice, take responsibility, and make it right as soon as they can. it is sad she was returned, but i’m glad now she isn’t with someone who can’t care for her properly

I rescued an 8-ounce feral kitten whose mother was killed. Poor kitten was in terrible shape with upper respiratory infection, exposure, malnutrition, eye infection, parasites, you name it. She surprised my vet and all the vet techs by living! All disease tests came back negative - she just had a *very* rough early life. A week later I read that orphan babies do better with a companion, so the local Shelter let me foster another orphan kitten: the two kittens were the same age, but the Shelter baby was three times larger! Miracles happen, and they bonded. Shelter baby taught feral baby how to use the litter box, played so gently, and groomed the far smaller one like a tiny mama. The little feral girl is vision-impaired and neurologically "slow", so her outlook for adoption went nowhere. But we couldn't separate the two kittens. I guess we're foster fails because we're keeping them together - in our home. If anyone is thinking about adopting a kitten, please PLEASE consider two! Kittens do SO MUCH BETTER with a companion. I volunteer at a Shelter and am always after staff to put single kittens in with a friend - and the kittens' delight when that happens will bring tears to your eyes. These sad little babies will just perk right up. I swear they dance with total kitten joy. Thank you, Kitten Lady for sharing your stories!

It’s like these kittens were meant to be together 😭 aww, I’m not crying, you’re crying!

I adopted a year old kitty from a favorite shelter in Lubec, Maine last year, then a couple of months later adopted a seven week old kitten so that she would have a friend. With both adoptions, the lady who runs the shelter and cares for the cats was on the verge of tears. She names them, she cares for them and she finds them homes; all the while she gets attached to them as well. I send her pictures of Aurora and Eddie every so often to let her know that they are doing well. Aurora is an eight pound half Siamese, while Eddie was a little bitty orange fluffball who has grown into a 14 pound beast. The lady in Lubec loves to hear how they are doing. I think she gets misty whenever someone finds a home.

I'm always glad a kitten is returned rather then dumped or poorly kept. It's sad but they have a better chance. Your videos always make me tear up!

Thanks for saving Hank’s life!!! You & Andrew simply rock doing what you do to allow all your kittens to ‘make muffins’ - love you guys!!!

A kitten is a HUGE responsibility that not everyone can undertake. I'm glad these sweeties have one another! Remember everyone, adopting an older cat is less work, they are usually already trained, they have a lot of love to give, and they are especially appreciative. I have adopted both a kitten and an adult cat before and the difference in behavior was night and day. I love them both no matter what but the transition to an adult cat was personally easier for my family. We had to baby proof everything for the kitten.

Watching this almost a year later as Kodi and Hanks Mom is celebrating their birthdays. It gives me warm fuzzies.

About a year ago we had a starving stray cat turn up at our home and she didn't leave, so after a little while we decided to adopt her. We took her to the vet and found out she was pregnant. We had her vaccinated and she went on to have only one kitten and we called him Oreo. We kept them both and when Oreo was 4 days off being 6 months old (24th Feb 2020) we took him to be desexed (neutered) but sadly he passed away from an allergic reaction to the anesthesic.. We were totally shocked as this is quite rare and we are totally heart broken.. We also adopted a couple of play mates for Oreo from a shelter in January and he loved being a big brother to them. His mother Kitty has taken to Skittles and Nala and treats them like their hers, which I think helps her.. We love our little cat family they bring us much joy. ❤❤❤❤

My mom went and got registered to foster and volunteer at the local shelter ( with training sessions ). I also went along to the main training sessions. Right now there aren’t any kittens to foster because it’s winter but it’s good because we get to be educated by your videos. We’re looking to get our first foster kitten( s ) in April, it’s gonna be tough because I have school and can’t stay up all night feeding them but it’s gonna be fun! Thank you!
