I run a '17 Viper ACR on track (regularly) and it is completely clear bra'd. The short answer: yes. It helps. Small rocks and debris will bounce off and not damage your paint or body. However, it really depends on the size, weight, and shape of the object as well as how fast and at what angle it comes in contact with your car.
@Jacked1537 жыл бұрын
How are the laps worked out? Like in your laps there was pretty low powered stuff like miata/mx5 and then a gtr? Then in another set of laps it was all porsches from each end of the spectrum like 911 turbos to caymans, but it can be on manufacturers because in Jay's laps there was mazdas and nissans and all sorts. Best guess it's based on driver experience on this circuit and maybe on previous experience?

IDK I'm with Fmily, that sounds like a broken mic, like punctured membrane, dealing with certain vibration frequencies. Kinda like a blown speaker but the microphone equivalent. I have experience with a "blown" microphone from back in my highschool, certain presenters could not use it because their voices would just not jive with the mic, mainly from singing type performances. Am not familiar when it is as loud as it would have been in Jay's car.

Dominc Williams I know what peaking is, I dealt with it a lot in my Trip to Denver video because I didn't have a computer to test my levels on. If it was peaking don't you think you would hear it on all the runs? I only hear it on the first run. Maybe it was a combination of the mic peaking and the track compressor he is using in post or something, but it doesn't sound like just peaking to me.

Hey CoCo M on the tire warm up thing, its true they get warmer when under load/turning/braking hard/accel/ etc......NASCAR does the weave deal when they are under Yellow only because they are limited to the speed they can go so they are trying to mimic the sudden and hard turns (load) as in when racing , its not perfect but its what they got for now...AS for the TJ clown UMMM hes using painters tape so yeah hes got that going for himself...lol......Jay you would have a blast at Sebring or Daytona, we have a ton of fun places to run down here + old abandon military bases or air ports. anyway i have the same issue finding stuff for my Chevelle that's why I hardly bring her out much anymore, most places dont carry things for cars or trucks older than 25 yrs old sad to say! Jay I want your life haha, amazing car man
What a Twist at the end :)
You do know Jay that going side to side isn't only about heating up tires, but to clean the rubber on those tires reducing wheel spin like on a restart in NASCAR.

Aly Osman just driving gets rid of marbles braking heats tire but after a lap of driving race speed the tires will be hot enough as they are street tires
Darn, that's a bummer...
thank goodness it wasnt the timing belt tho
Tough luck Jay, stuff like that happens. At least no harm came to you or Nizzy. :) Speaking of Nizzy, how much power does she make?
Didn't road kill do the Corvette Cart There? just running the track backwards?

That looks like the track from Born 2 Race. Wait, is that the track from the movie?
2:09 Josh representing Colion Noir (with the PPL hat), and doing so behind enemy lines in Kommifornia FTW! Lol off topic I know, but I noticed that and thought it was pretty cool. :)

@0:27 - It's a track day video and you STILL have to have a graphics card box in there somewhere.

Ctrl Null He only did it a few times when we first started. I was the only person to get an A in drivers ed. Actually an A- to be exact, that was the highest grade given. I still don't understand how people struggle so much. I am a fat dude, and I still did better in PE than almost everyone else who is way more athletic than me, simply because most people didn't dress and sat on the sidelines with their phone.
