How are you able to select gold stake for a deck you've only beaten up to black stake on? Is that an unlock or something?

If he bought it he would’ve been at 27, so he still would’ve only gotten $5 that round, it would only start paying itself off if he banked even harder and you generally want to spend your money on gold stakes

No. It only actually pays out more interest if you're above 25 often. If you hit 50 after having seed money, it pays for itself in 2 rounds. If you're only at like 25, the voucher does nothing. The problem is getting that 60+ the cost of jokers early on, which means the long-term investment might kill you.
