Even if i couldn't recognize Charlize Theron, an Asian executed in medieval Europe, only Netflix could do that. So, it was easy to figure out the movie. The Old Guard.

Everything I have read about real hangings, or more accurately...nonprofessional lynchings where the neck was not broken like this one, describes the victims as wildly dancing their legs around in an involuntary effort to regain some footing. This scene isn't realistic at all.

Not even close to being realistic. No facial flushing, no involuntary urination, no swelling of facial features. No one stays pretty while being slowly strangled to death.

And this is not historically correct.. the UK used to use long drop not short drop and the hangman would use a face cover..

Terrible inaccuracy. Long ropes are designed to snap the neck upon release of the body, causing its weight to break the spinal cord. Short ropes were designed to make people suffer, like on this scene. They basically mixed one type of hanging with another.

Actually this is closer to reality as hanging does not or at least this kind of hanging does not cause immediate death. They die from lack of oxygen from not being able to breath and that takes a while. They will loose consciousness then the heart stops. At that point immediate brain damage and death. In fact I have read about a number hanging attempted suicides and with few exceptions they all suffered at least some brain damage.

Wrong. Hanging actually snaps your neck the moment you fall, so you will be unconscious. Even in short jumps. Please, do your research before spreading misinformation.

Depends on how one is hanged or hangs oneself, the lack of oxygen in the blood (blocking the bloodflow in the vains of the neck) is what makes one loose consciousness and then ends ones life, not the breaking of the neck etc. The loosing of consciousness happens fast. That's why children who play the choking game die without knowing that it would go so fast.
