Two Giant Wilderness Red Stags - Part 2 - New Zealand Hunting

Спорт

The boys fly up an iconic West Coast river valley in search some red stag roaring action. The hard yards getting into some truely remote country definitely pays off!

Well done. Two very respectable stags and heads. Reminds me of our hard, remote hunting trips during the 1960s and '70s when I was in my teens and early 20s.

Those trophies will have memories of some hard yards.Great weather made a difference, big rivers normally. Interesting to see the numbers aren't high there, it's probably out of the poison blocks.

Shithot lads, that’s some gut buster of a trip. Nice rewards for hard work. You mentioned in part one about 1080 etc I often think it must benefit the remaining animals, more feed etc. The area up the top looks good country and the head basin, the gorge probably keeps a few from venturing up there aye. Cheers for the upload, nice stags!!

Doesn’t help the remaining when its kills like 99% of the deer in some cases. One of east meat spots went from seeing deer and lots of sign every trip to no sign except 1 hind. No grazing sign or prints. Completely ruined it for everyone. Shits evil.

@@kanekahn83 They are usually ok for sausages etc, sometimes selected bits for venison. But those who rave about prime meat off them have "tolerant" tastes, haven't tried a young well fed one, or just an agenda to rave about. When combined with preaching about "managing these overpopulated pests one only has to look at their contribution to the tahr problem. Sage coined a name for the majority of this group, who compromise the decent ones out there and who DoC are really showing their colours about by "enlisting their aid" for pest control.
