If you're one of the many people who requested an in depth project course covering every aspect of a project then I've finally got something for you. Click here for more information on the course: bit.ly/2vUiSpu If you're not interested in the course then that's fine. I'm going to continue to make regular content as I have for the past few years. Have a great day!

Jay Bates I was wondering what was going on with you. It's been awhile. I also am happy to see you've expanded into the instructional side of this KZread/self employed thing. There is very few that do it and I think you will have much success in it. Congrats and best wishes.

I too enjoyed the music and production style of this one. Not something for every video, but a little change up now and then is fun. Do you think you will do any in depth build courses for shop projects?

The buffering part in the video got me good. I thought it was youtubes' new buffering wheel due to all the changes being made.

Justin Barnett got me too! Brat!
Mr Bates your skills have come miles in a relatively short time. Well done. This is a very demanding traditional woodworking project.
I really liked the part where you build this over the course of the video. Fantastic looking box!
Of all the jewelry box videos I’ve been watching, I like this one the most! It’s beautiful!
this is a work of art .. high praises to this guy
This is one EXTREMELY good looking project and one of your coolest videos in terms of editing! Job well done sir 👏
Ummm...speechless...craftsmanship. Holy buckets Jay.
Love the hickory and walnut mix! sweetness all around!
I can't say enough how much I like your videos and this is one of my favorites. The box came out awesome. I love all the attention to detail. Keep up the good work.
And nary a dovetail guide in sight. You are the master!
Great build nicely done. I especially like the size difference in the draw pulls, at first I did not think it would work but when I saw the finished item it works very well.
Hi Jay, Could not wait until the end so I could start to watch it again. Nice to see some old fashioned joinery/ cabinet making. I have a small retirement workshop but their is no way I could do justice to some lovely timber on this project. A delight to watch.
A simple, elegant design with proud joinery... this is quite literally my ideal design for all my projects lol.
Well that's clearly a labor of love - both the box and the video.
REally nice build, I especially like the different size handles. It adds a nice perspective.
A joy to watch and a joy to behold. Beautiful.
I love music on this one. It's the same one you used on the dog house build a while back. It really fits the building process.
Nice looking project. The editing is incredible.
Very cool box. Good to know your wife liked it in the end. Great job.
That's how you do that! Watched once for the woodworking and once for the video.
Jay, glad to see you back in action. I've told you before, but I really mean it: there's not another KZread woodworker who I've watched over the past few years whose skills have grown as much as yours. Always impressed.

You're too kind, Andrew. Thank you.
I sure am pleased that I woke up earlier than normal today, because I had notification of your first video in a month. And, boy oh boy, it was sure worth waiting for. Not only are your photography and editing awesome, but your beautiful walnut and hickory (my two favorite woods) two-drawer box is phenomenal!!! You have outdone even yourself, Jay. And the fact that you are willing to share your creation with us via two formats (regular KZread and your newly offered, in depth course for only $49.99 minus a generous discount) blows my mind. Thank you, Jay.

Thank you so much for the kind words, Barbara!
It's good to have you back Jay
Now you're just showing off. Well done, Jay. You have a gift that has been developed over years and is apparent from your progression in both your videos and woodworking skills. I really appreciate your assessment of what works and what doesn't. I want to focus more time to woodworking, and I look forward to supporting your channel by purchasing a few of your plans in the future.
it's incredibly fun to have seen you grow from a guy doing shop projects with mostly pocket hole screws to these kind of projects ;)
Jay - Dove tail joints - It's the best woodworking joint to use. Both beautiful and strong. Dove tails are difficult to cut and it takes practice and skill. The box looks so nice with the 2 contrasting wood colors.
Wow! That is awesome! The detail and craftsmanship is inspiring!
I'm a simple man, I see Jay Bates uploaded a new video, I watch. I like and I comment. Jay, I really appreciate you posting this! It was amazing. Greetings from Houston!
Jay, I have admired your work for some time now but this project has gone to another level. I love it. Thanks for posting.
Wow! That is just gorgeous. Incredible job by you, Jay. Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful box. You are not the same Jay Bates from 3 years ago that built everything out of 2x6's. Your skills have certainly grown!
Very nice job and I really liked that you gave the project a good long look at the end, I wish more people did that!
Absolutely incredible Jay.
It is nice to videos made by a real top notch woodworker instead of someone who just wants to be a KZreadr. Thank you for sharing and beautiful job!

Beautiful work, that is one of your best boxes.
Absolutely beautiful work Jay. The joinery is spot on, and the Hickory and Walnut make a great compliment to each other. Bravo Jay, Bravo.

Beautiful box with excellent pneumatic properties. Well done and another great video.
Fantastic job, both the build and the video itself... Still love the clock, thank you for all your efforts on our behalf. Green and Green rule.
very nice job with a few little extra touches. very pleasing to the eye.
Beautiful box Jay. Fantastic work.
Another outstanding video from Jay Bates! Thanks man!
Very impressive work. I love your wood choices. Hickory and walnut are two of my favorites.
Glad to see you posting. Very nice project.
Very fine craftsmanship, beautiful work!
Beautiful box. Incredible skills. Brilliant video.
Your video production skills have excelled. I liked how your chisel strikes were in beat to the music. Great job on the project and the video.
Nice job, Jay. Looks great!
Brought back the old music...I love it! Great job on the box Jay.
So excited to see the block plane at work!! Glad to see the in depth direction you are going in. I will definitely be signing up!

You do not need a block plane but they are hand to have.
I'm envious of your skill, Jay. Outstanding work!!
You're crazy with your videos man. And the music in this one can make someone think you're making something for James Bond. You really know your stuff.
Love the Greene and Greene inspired piece. This build really shows your abilities as a craftsman
WOW!!! Jay, this piece makes me reflect back and think how wild it is to see how far you've come since your beginnings in the apartment kitchen shop. Good job, man!
Wow, very impressive skills on display, both with the woodworking and the video!
Amazing video and absolutely beautiful project. I will be revisiting this after I finish a few more dovetail projects and feel a little more comfortable!
So beautifully made. Love it!
Beautiful piece of work, Jay! Thank you.
That is a lovely little tool chest .Your skills have improved steadily over the years.I have watched.
Wow! Fabulous skills on display. Woodworking and video skills. What a great project! Thanks
Wow, people are more interested in the editing than the content. Jay, I began watching you when you were in your vacant apartment shop. You've come a long way baby. This is truly a fine piece of furniture, and you inspire me to keep improving my skills. I will check out your links. Keep up the excellent work, you are amazing.

+Rick Cook thank you very much, rick
So much beauty in a little box thanks for sharing
Beautiful work Jay!
I wish more people would learn these types of things. Even if you don’t want to identify as a woodworker it’s still good to learn to do stuff for yourself. Plus the quality will be a lot better. My family has handmade furniture from before the American Revolution. It’s lasted hundreds of years and it’s still suitable for daily use. I can’t say that for the furniture you might find at Ikea or an equivalent store.
That's a work of art, I dig it. Thumbs up Jonathan.
Beautiful Build Jay, I love the contrast in the woods.
Beautiful and such high quality!
Quality project. Thank you also for taking the time to display tools used. All the best !
Jay, I haven't even watched the video yet and I can say, I'm glad to see you here. I can't wait to see more!
This thing is so gorgeous! Nicely done.
Fantastic Mr Bates....awesome job....beautiful box.....you inspire us.
badass green and green box so cool Jay
Fantastic video! Makes me want to jump in the shop and get working on a new box with drawers!
You're a talented young man, Jay. Love those dovetails.
This came out great. Beautiful craftsmanship jay
Very Ishitani Furniture-esque but with a rock beat! You even had the "beauty shots" at the end. (All you need is a little white dog. Ha.) I know you said you liked this video and project better than any you've done. I like the video, but your chess board and storage project is my favorite. Thanks, Jay.
Great joint choice, awesome wood combination, brilliantly put together video!!!
Great to see your videos again
Beautiful work! Box and video.
Welcome back! Great to see you making again! Love the wood choices, the dovetails, the attention to detail, and those beauty-full new tools ( the saw by Brian, and that block plane). Keep doing what you love and keep on showing us mere mortals how to do it,
Love it Jay. Nice work.
don't think I could even get to close to making something as good as that, great job Jay.

very very nice. a true craftsman who loves his work; it shows. kuddoos.
Beautiful work Jay! 👍
Jay, Loved the video and the box with your joinery is beautiful. Thanks for videoing and sharing, Jim
Definitely your best yet! Thanks
Loved the video! Fast paced hand tool work!
Well done Jay this is simply beautiful work!!
Great video and a really great design. Also I appreciate the showing different pictures of the piece after it's finished. So many people don't do that.
Wood choice is lovely and the results really show. Fantastic work Jay
Beautiful build. Nicely done.
Great to see another video from you!
That's a great project Jay. Nice work!
Best project of your channel, in my opinion. And video editing, AMAZING!
I can understand the music haters, but as you said, it fits the rhythm of this video so well ... I came back to watch it again, just to be sure. two thumbs up for the editing.
This was an absolutely fascinating video! Thank you. Your videos are so well made. Thank you for all that you've done to share your passion for woodworking and content creation with the world.
Beautiful build, great video!
Holy crap!! You had me at "hand cut dove tails", but you hand cut half-blind dovetails! That's impressive. I think you should show your wife this next to that jewelry box you made her when you first started woodworking. LOL! Well done sir!
