That JGB show from Fall '89 the long Island sound where Bobby and Rob open up for Jerry and the band is straight up some of Bobby's best work. Desolation Row, K. C. Moan, Throwing Stones, man they play some bangers and the quality is superb. Glad to see them still pumping out miracles over 20 years later :) 🕉

Sorry guys, this ended up long, but entertaining. (to write) bear with me if you dare.....IMHO, these are some of (Bob's? Barlow's?) finest lyrics, as well as Bobby's composition/arrangement, Perfect mix of mystical esoteric storytelling with just enough spiritual metaphor approached with just the right amount of irreverence and, of course Bob's signature cocky narrative to put it all in perspective. "I'm going to Adams home in a world that we cant see / to sing drunk with the angels / Play again for free"; "My silver spoon's this beggars cup / When its empty I show up"; and ending of course, with the Meditation / Revelation : "Dreams are lies, Its the dreaming that's real". If you really think about this last statement, it is, on the surface, utter nonsense, as it is a self-contradicting statement. However, strangely, it seems to ring true to the "heart" or "deep subconscious" in ways that I can't quite put my finger on; and yet , in a sense akin to Deja-vu, I feel that this very sentiment resonates deeply within my psyche. The Grateful dead have always been a band that resonated with the deep subconscious. At times, so deeply that you could almost ( or totally, completely, without a doubt, most definitely; depending on what you may have eaten for a late afternoon snack before the show) Perceive the different subtle energies ; if not straight-up wormholes to other dimensions or phenomena of overlapping time in a wibbly wobbly-timey-wimey sense. You know- the feeling that you could just as easily be lost in the 1500's or 1850's or 1960's, 1980's while overlapping present times simultaneously, although when you realize that not only are you in your respective "correct" spatial destination, and not only that, but only 3 and a half hours have elapsed instead of the 12,000 years that you had feared while hiding in the bathroom for the last half of the second set, you are at once overjoyed to be "back" while wondering if anything that your ethereal consciousness experienced was indeed in any way valid. The only thing to do in that situation is chalk it up to an unknowable weirdness and move on with the movie in front of your eyes; suspending both belief and disbelief, all the while knowing that once you leave the relative safety / Purposeful mindfuck of the show, the ever-present and seemingly eternal Gypsy bazaar will never fail to be there waiting; at once destroying the time-shifting illusion with cars and modern canopies and such, while also reinforcing it, at the very least by way of reincarnation and an eternal sense of relationships and loves and dramas and responsibilities that only serve to make the Hindu notion that I have been here and done this before and will continue to do so, Ah, fuck wheres russo? I could us a French bread pizza, Or maybe the falafel guy,,, you know,,, "And a Pickle Baby!" No shit,,, best best best falafel ever made in the history of the earth, I now digress to a different tour, but I haven't seen falafel and a pickle baby at a widespread show in a few years,,, I think soldiers n sailors chatt may have been the last time we crossed paths, I would trade my momma and maybe even throw in my guitar for some more of that HEAVENLY falafel!!!!! (no shit,,, that good, the guy has a gift) Anyways- I'm done ranting Love to All, especially close by and long lost family. PS- anybody have thoughts on possible esoteric meanings of this song? I will never again think of Bob just as Jerry's sidekick. This is some deep music, with so much unexpected going on. He forces you to listen, and what a joy that work is! I'm impressed.
My strange heroes lead me on..but Just a 3:21 great humble Gen man/ bro

@Bob Weir since 66/67. I heard the name first and then cuts from the first album right before it was released on KYA AM SF courtesy of Tom Donahue. Once my friends and I got a copy we were on the bus and didn't even know it.

Do you remember you stayed on the elliptical machine the whole time I was in my yoga class and I came out and you were still on there so I hopped on right beside you and we pretended like we weren’t aware of each other’s presents. Do you remember that?
The Wolf bros before they were
I’m talking about the Omni I know you remember do you remember having to drive your pants on the fan cause they were all sweaty
Do you remember when you were in the steam room and he was in the hot tub and he yelled over to you ask if you had your pants
