two outstanding human beings here. first the wonderful young lady who takes in strays and has them fixed. she is awesome. and this amazing guy who rescued these two cats from that tree. I just hope that they didn't run back up another tree. great job!

Omg I love you guys. You are such wonderful people. I seriously slept at the bottom of a tree with my cat one night. Because every time I would walk away she would just start wailing 😭 crying even harder. Eventually she came down. But it broke my heart while she was up there.

I just rescued my first cat last week. Very top top of the tree! Got "bitey mouse" in the bag and safely on the ground

i watched this with my cat elvie and she was so worried when she heard the meowing, she came over to check everything was ok a couple of times. I've watched your rescues before but this one was nerve-wracking, the branches looked so spindly- thank you for all the hard work you do.

This looks really tricky and risky. Those branches appear quite thin. Perhaps you can teach the audience about some pecularities of all the different trees you climb? Might raise our skills. I am always amazed about the miracles you guys perform.

Came here from Great Big Story. Whoaa....Never knew this is not an easy job at all. All this time i only see cat sit on the big branch, never before seeing them sitting in such thin and swaying branch.

Canopy Cat Rescue: You guys are SUPER HEROES! I can't imagine being a cat that was chasing something (?) & suddenly realized he was in a helluva spot & couldn't get back. The awesome focus they have is what allows them to catch such a wide variety of prey (even if it's just their sibling), BUT....there's a downside to that total focus ability....You can often not even realize WHERE you are until it's too late. I can't imagine being a SMART Kitty that ends up in such a spot with no way out....Searching for a way back home for HOURS....then the tummy starts rumbling from hunger & THEN the effing bladder kicks in w/ you having nowhere to scratch out a hole to wee in...all while you're being blown around on a flimsy limb by strong winds & getting blown into a twig that pokes you in the butt (like the kitty in this video likely did)....You can see/hear home (Mom), but you have no way to get there - or ANYWHERE, for that matter. In case I didn't say it loud enough before, You guys ARE SUPER HEROES! Thanks for all you do - and thanks for sharing this heart-warming video!

You should get some srt gear to climb those trees. Rope runner and foot and knee ascender. You are going to save your back.

bg147 it depends on the tree in most cases. 😂 but yeah, if the tree is tall and is mostly free from branches the first few meters... its though for a cat to get down. however most people should call a professional, alot of people try to save cats who are not in distress and can perfectly just jump down safely, and then hurt themselves instead. all in all, if you hear a cat in a tree high up freaking out, contact a professional, either an animal rescue or in some cases the fire department.

Do you have a video showing how you get up there? That’s amazing!

I wonder if cats also get lost up in trees with lots of foliage and branches. It just looks like a maze and if I were as small as a cat who can’t see far I’d be lost too and wouldn’t know which branch would lead to the trunk to get back down.

Cat’s claws are designed to climb but not descend. I know how horrible experience this is for cats and the humans. My cat stuck on a tree for 24 hours, I located her in the evening as she was lost since morning. I have no idea how she traveled .7 km and decided to climb that tree. Only available arborist could make it next morning. It was horrible to listen to her whole night and asking for help. He got her down like him. I wish it never happens again

They are chased up by dogs, cats, coyotes, big cats etc.

Normally they are chased up there. Do you think trying to run away to somewhere safe when a predator is chasing you is “stupid”? Sounds like YOU are the stupid one…
