Craig have you rewound a scratching post with nylon rope? You don't really want to do that, bud. The fibres that come off are long enough that they can cause gut twists if ingested. A single strand might also cut into a pad. The rope on the posts and towers are natural short fibres so that they can be safely shredded and are safe to eat (some cats will eat long grass etc or any "long-strandy" fibre they find to deal with furballs and so on. If your cats don't go outside and have access to grass they are more likely to do this.

I binned that when i watched this video back. I dont often sit in conservatory, that stick with the rope is from a cat that died years & years ago. Looked very trampy, so i binned it
