Very neat and thoughtful video.
The leeward boat looked generally a little flatter (boat balance) I got the impression the helm was probably working the main sheet more. Interesting to have the video for analysis.

Thanks - that's probably accurate. The leeward skipper also said he had dropped the traveler a little.
If both boats were with just one person in it, then the gain by the leeward boat would be more commendable. Winning against a heavier boat is nothing.

I think there's something to your comment, although we have found that extra weight doesn't have a big effect when the boats are already up to speed. Hard to say.
