TWISTED TRAILS EP.2 Building the Field of Dreams
We're back at it, building the next section of 3 lines that twist and intertwine as they go down the hill.
The dream is for a family or group, with mixed abilities, to ride the same hill at the same time and all be smiling at the end of it. We wanted something to get the beginners stoked and also something to challenge the serious shredders out there. It sucks to feel like you're out of your depth, and it's equally irritated to feel like you're being held back - so this is designed to cater for those people and everyone in between.
It's not been easy, and it's taken longer than we anticipated, but we want to make sure whatever we build is right before opening it to the public in the spring next year. Sorry to those who would like it done quicker, but we all work full time so can only volunteer one day per week. Any potential sponsors out there please get in touch :-)
In the next episode we will be giving details on when these lines will open to the public- we plan to hold some kind of opening event to kick it all off in style. Keep your eyes peeled for that.
Thanks for watching - JKD crew.

The only problem I see is its not in my backyard.
Hey man, I am a huge fan of the work u guys do, and I have a question for u. How long does it take to build a line of jumps?? Keep up the work, it looks fantastic!!

Hey man- thanks! It's very difficult to say because it depends on so many factors- how big/long the trail is, what material you have to work with and what machinery, if any, you have access to. If you're digging by hand I would say 2-3 days to build a kicker and about 6-8 days to do a landing.

@@justkeepdigging1956 Wow, I never thought that it would take that long. It's even more impressive that u have built all those lines now that I know how long it takes. Keep up the work can't wait for the next vid. 👍
Love your videos. Do you know where i can get a good shaping shovel?
@justkeepdigging1956
Жыл бұрын
Thanks dude. Ours came from a variety of places - garden centres and DIY stores. We tend to go for longer handled square edge ones. As long as the head is flat and square you should be good. If it's painted you'll have to wear through that to bare metal before it'll be good for shaping.
Where is this? I need to know
Where is this at? Will travel a bit to ride.

@@justkeepdigging1956 A chainsaw is a chainsaw if it can cut through wood the face and neck don't stand a chance.
