I agree that Batter Up was the correct choice to debut with. Given that the pre-debut "Dream" was not hype, the debut needed to scream YG. This song was the perfect follow-up as it showed their range and versatility. I expect the comeback for the mini will probably be a banger!

It reminds me of Blackpink released Boombayah debut strongly and then they released Stay to show off their vocals, this is a really cool strategy of YG. And 2NE1, Big Bang, iKON, Winner, Treasure,… too!❤

Exactly ! No way this can be a debut song. These type of songs can be a pre-debut or a follow-up . Or can be a song in their later yrs of career. Batter up is a very commercialized form of song which will give them a grand opening, and YG did exactly that. I'm very sure that next will be an upbeat track leaning more toward hip hop or traces of hip hop.

Yes Rora can play piano, she also showed this off in her introduction video. I’m also happy they gave ASA time to sing but also would love to hear Haram more.

It is Asa!!! No one knew just how good her singing voice was until she did Me Myself and I, and after that (and after writing for Batter Up), people elevated her to being one of the Aces of the group (along with Ahyeon)

I feel like 'Batter Up' was a good debut song because, if you think about the lyrics, they are introducing themselves and expressing that it's their turn, similar to what 'batter up' means in baseball.

For me batter up is the right music to debut in to capture new people and to disappoint fans of BM. 🤭 Then follow-up with a great song like this is perfect to showcase what fans wanted. Balled dont do very well usually for streaming and for YG putting up a song like this they really have confidence for this group.

Wassup KTwinz, with regard to your discussion about what if they would have done this song first the "Batter Up". "Batter Up' had 22.59 million views in 24 hours. This song won't make 10 million at the rate it is going. Besides, the debut song needed to be upbeat and catchy. I will say this was a great choice for song #2. Visuals are stunning, vocals are angelic, the performance delivered ( got a bit emotional the first few time I listened to it), sets and production outstanding. I want to hear it live. What about you?
