If your Twinkly Music doesn’t work by powering on with its own button it may need a firmware update which is performed with the Twinkly App.
I found my iPad needed a few tries to connect in the initial setup, I tried an Android phone Pixel 3A which worked immediately. Once setup any phone/ tablet on my network can control them. Or just turn on the lights then press the Twinkly music button on the dongle to enable music control.

My Alexa is now confused lol
When picking colours for my Colour Bulb, i can pick from so many obscure colours like: crimson, mint, aqua, ect and Alexa understands

The music I’d like to synch with this is about 12 minutes long, will that automatically synch with these lights once every thing is connected properly?
Twinkly Music worked only the first time, next day waisted hours trying to make it work including reset many times - doesn't work anymore!!! any advice??????????

I just plug it back in and mine works so I haven’t had much experience with the settings
They are pretty damn cool, and if they were strung proper, they would work even better, cheers
I'm curious, the ones that got missed in the mapping due to the monitor blocking them, are they just kept off during the effects or do they still get used?

They are used in the premade effects. In the custom part If you try to switch them on individually, you can’t
I have the twinkly gen 1 for my tree. I want to use this as a Dj back drop. I purchased the same set-up you have. After the initial setup do you still need wifi for the sound active to keep on functioning, or does it stay set once your offline. Reason being I would like to go other places and set this up behind a scrim. Thanks.

I tried after switching off the WiFi, twinkly music didn’t work. If you download the app I think there was alternative way of setting it up in the help section.

Are the effects when you play the music only available with the music dongle, or are they available without the dongle?

The lights only react to music with the dongle. They do have effects built in that don’t need it.
