Twining : Weaving Techniques for Beginners
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Twining is a weaving technique used often to keep or build structure in weaving. You can also use this technique to add color and texture to your project.
Twining is created by wrapping a yarn around the „X“ of the weft and warp. Twining is also the basis of scalloping.
A full written twining tutorial on twining can be found on this blog post : fibersanddesign.com/twining-we...

A stroke damaged the part of my brain that deals with processes and problem solving -- until I found your tutorial trying to twine was incredibly frustrating. NOW, thanks to you I can easily get through the two lines of twining I need at the beginning and end of a tapestry-- and I will now be able to use it within the body of the tapestry. A very good tool for the box. Thanks again.
I truly appreciate your real time weaving. I found this tutorial very helpful. Thank you.
This is such a beautiful technique. I am about to finish a weaving with it. Thanks.

You're very welcome- Thank you for watching! :)
Great tutorial, I just had a problem with the music in the background. Because it was repetitively repeating the same line of words over and over was overwhelming and made my head hurt. I couldn't turn it down because I wouldn't have known what you where saying. I suffer from severe migraines and it makes me very sensitive to flickering lights and sound especially repetative sounds.

Could you twin both the warp and the weft. A cross twining if you will? Can you double, triple, etc twining on either? Just curious what the results would be. Both strength and aesthetically.
What is name of that metal needle you used please?
THANK YOU😻😻😻🎈🎈🎈🧸🧸🧸👍👍👍
Very clever and also very pretty (smiles)
where and how did you tuck the ends?
I like the idea

Great question! The technique below in all blue is the hemstitch. You can find a video on this technique in the "Finish Weaving" playlist on this channel :) Thanks for the kind comment!

easiest twining I've even seen!
I love everything about this tutorial except the chipmunk music. It’s smart to change color. It helps to see the stitches. Thank you!
