You can snapshot the vortex buffs. Affliction Warlocks(using this videos example of the raid being dark) - Put your Demonic Gateway under the dark vortex. Then go click the opposite color(White vortext). When the fight starts, Sbolt>UA>Corr>Doom. This wil snapshot a huge Corr and doom. Then Demonic gateway back to dark vortex and boot to the raid and go about your single target rotation like on the raid Valk. Periodically keep up corruption on the other Valk by using a rank 1 Shadow Bolt. This ensures you get a very powerful and buffed up Corruption ticking on the off target Twin. Note-DO NOT MANUALLY APPLY CORRUPTION ON THE OFF TARGET, you will lose your powered up Corruption if you do. Takes some practice, but this is 100% worth

Wouldn't it be better to put your Demonic Circle down where the raid's stack point is, then click the White Vortex, and go stand near Dark Vortex? Then you can do the snapshot, and click the Dark that's right next to you already, then teleport into the raid instead of booting.

Morning Jordee!! Ty for the vid.

Resto druid is also a great soaker on this fight. Can heal at nearly normal rate while mobile and has barkskin for bad vortex. Will need some assistance to survive, like a holy paladin divine shielding + hand of sacrifice, and dedicated healing for 5 seconds. Additionally, resto druid is tailor made for this type of raid damage profile.

Looks like such a fun fight!

Now I've done this fight this guide makes so much more sense! Its just one of those encounters where you need to do it to truly understand it - as simple as it is when you really get down to it. Ready to pump harder next reset! For context, I was a soaker (Hunter) and... well, I made a pig's ear of it (no wipes, just... sub-optimal). Next time I'll talk with the other soakers to have their areas to cover so we're not all running for the same orbs.

A BIG TIP IF YOUR GUILD STRUGGLES WITH SAME COLOR SHIELD 3-5 seconds before the mech, make all your dps to change target. That way the raid will be ready in case you get the same color shield.

1) How much reduced damage do you do to same color targets? 2) When swapping to a target which casts the Twins Pact shield,If that target is of the same color, will I do reduced damage to that shield? Thanks again for the great guides u put out.

At @10:55 what is showing the time left before the person is healed? Its showing not only your heal but how much time before someone elses heal goes off on that person which i think is really sick.

Hey Joardee, thanks for all your work! Q: During Light Vortex, when everyone switches to Light Essence - do you have some people stay Dark Essence to soak the Dark Spheres? What if a Dark Sphere comes into raid when everyone is Light Essenced, or you get Hit while raid trying to switch back to Dark Essence?

Typically the "goalies" will maintain the opposite color of the raid majority

What addon is showing CHANGE COLOR in the ToGC raid?

Joardee is the only disc priest that deserves Valanyr

If shadow resistance hurts your damage when you're attuned to the dark vortex, why not do the reverse and have the raid attune to the light vortex and the soakers to the dark vortex, and that way it's not as big of an issue because most of the time you'll be charging the buff with holy damage. Or does this mean the soakers and offtank take too much damage since they'll only have holy resistance from GotW?

no, they just use cds for the vortex of the opposite colour and if 2 or 3 dps nuking the shield with reduced damage matters enough that you cant kill it, then you should probably be doing normal.

Would an Assass rogue using Feint be a good option to soak the light buff in the beginning of the fight? Would be a 50% damage decrease on the AOE dmg right? 5:37

No because you need to be able to soak the white orbs without being near the rest of the raid! Ranged dps is def preferred, and hunters especially since they need to be at ranged anyways.
