Twin Turbo S10 First Fire Up
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
Well it's finally here, the S10 runs! The engine is finally together so I decided to try and get it to idle and make sure it has oil pressure/fuel pressure/ other stuff. In the video I give all the details on the truck, if you want to skip to it running, go to the last 3 or 4 minutes of the video.
Details on the truck:
1983 Square body S10, gutted with an 8.50 cage and a 4-link and coil over back half. Shortened ford 9 axle. 6.0 LS, stock lq4 bottom end, ls3 heads, brian tooley stage 3 twin turbo cam, twin borg warner S366 turbos, twin air to water intercoolers, tial V60 wastegates and a bunch of other junk I'm probably forgetting.

Cool truck. Congrats on the build and first start up. Always exciting!
You say “I’m not a professional”, you are a professional. Very nice, knowledgeable work. Hope it kicks ass. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
You will only get that feeling of hearing the engine on a successful start up with becoming a father that’s the only 2 things I care about is my family and my hotrod. Congrats on your truck starting up it sounds great.
I love it especially because you chose this particular body style. She sounds so good.
That thing starts up and everybody in your neighborhood knows it. Beautiful

Man thats a bad ass little truck. I remember starting my camaro for the first time. Very good feeling.
Not boring... A lot of good info. Awesome build! Can't wait to see it rolling under its own power! I just test drove mine... NA big block vette. It's like driving on ice... Got a lot of suspension tuning to do.

I love the way that you explain everything and this is such an inspiration to watch just because I'm trying to get my dad's old S-10 that's rotting away in the driveway, I have big plans to Twin Turbo the stock V6 in it after it's bully bill and I really want to run it off with methanol. It's just a matter of getting the truck. Thank you
That's a sweet build 🤘🤘
Man! What a feeling. I can’t wait for the day, likely years from now, when I’m in your shoes.

Nice, I'm a big fan of the single turbo set ups
Been there done that, rebuilt the motor, checking this, checking that, double checking, triple checking .... then crank it over and hope it fires over and idles fine ...
Good job brother congratulations good job man my eyes are teared up cuz I'm working on a project just getting started but your your s*** looks tight looks cleaned the job bro
What a monster
Sick 😷 man
11.5 min of gibberish to hear it run is a little insane
Condensation is just from start stop short run times.....I just went through this myself. Get it all squared away to run and drive for 30 mins or so cos if you keep doing the start stop thing with the learn on it will get bad data and screw you up, the Holley base timing table in the wizard is also terrifying so scale and square that tune away first thing before running it up or you will be chasing your tail to have it fixed up later if that makes sense. Aaron from green shorts performance helped me big time.
Start at 11:38 SICK build
SET FIRE TO THE RAIN , BROTHER
The only thing I can say is ditch the rubber boots on the pipe work, speaking from experience. Other than that great looking build, I have seen absolute garbage from shops, but it looks like a clean build. 👍👍
An extended cab? Man put that awsome power train in a standard cab
Sweet truck👌 What headers did you go with💪🏻
Currently watching this so I can put one into my lego porsche

Dude sounds like a young John Godman no joke
Wondering how many miles you could do with a full tank with these types of cars?
Big tire or small? It looks like it's got stock tires on it and gonna be small 10-5. Tires
Nice build, what are you doing for boost controll? You mite find that waste gates are to big and make it really hard to maintain a steady boost.
@SneakyZeke
3 жыл бұрын
at the moment I'm just running spring pressure with a manual controller but I'll get a co2 controller down the road. I figured I'd rather go overkill on the wastegates rather than under and have to rebuild the hot side down the road.
Rad!
i noticed in the video that you had tape or something (looked blue @8:08 ) over the turbo on the driver side, did you take it off before you tried to crank it i didnt see you remove it in the video before and after you started it it was gone did it get suck into the turbo(can be seen without it @ 13:09)? Otherwise sweet build man keep it up!
I'm just so full of questions ... what brand and size injectors are you using?
I'm curious where you got your bov. I have a procharger and need to add one on mine, but not trying to spend $240. Thanks for the info and ideas!
@corvettefever360

Try ebay, try DNA, anywhere from $30 plus. Just remember that even though they advertise it for the intended boost your trying to make, but in truth the spring pressure is relevant to the amount of vacuum your engine makes. So you may need to possibly change the spring if it opens too fast or too slow.
I'm thinking about getting a 2001 Chevy S10 4.3l v6 But haven't seen any turbo kit or recommend turbo for it anywhere plus what exactly I'd need for the extra power..
NICE
what air to water intercoolers are those? I'm looking for something similar and compact like yours
Aye first one here but I love your vids man

I got more with my big block in my s10 then you got with a LS and I got radiator up front. I don't feel so bad now.
Hello from Miami looks like you did a great job under the hood just saying
Woah that's fucking clean. How much power you expecting to be pushing?
You have like at least $20.000 dollars 💵 in the project man...WoW..!!

Question I’m doing a twin turbo LS3 and I’ve seen most twins running the exhaust out of the hood or on the side with a hole 🕳 in the side of the fender. I want to run mine out the rear is there a reason besides not dealing with the extra piping to get it out? Or does it provide additional power? Sorry if it’s a stupid question but gotta ask
@kdsboosted4954

They do it for the simplicity of it. I run full length pipes most of mine
