The BLM hosted a field tour as part of the Section 106 consultation process for the proposed Lava Ridge Wind Project in October 2022. A host of participants from the Friends of Minidoka, Japanese American Citizens League, Idaho Governor's Office, National Park Service, SWCA, Magic Valley Energy and the State Historic Preservation Office visited existing wind turbines situated on private land near Hagerman, Idaho. They viewed the wind turbines from various distances and then complete impact assessments on what the potential effects could be on the Minidoka National Historic Site from the proposed Lava Ridge Wind Project.
