I saw twilight when I was 11 I think, and that scene bothered me sooo much that I haven't forgotten it to this day. Why couldn't she just have said "yeah I ate a little bit at home but I'm still hungry/ would love to try it/ am not full yet??? The phone call with James needs to be in a remake of Twilight immediately. This was brilliant! I would have loved Bella so much more if she was actually like this.

I love that she didn’t have that argument with her dad. Teenager stories depict young people having problems with their parents all the time, and this might be good for relatability with some of the readers, but damn I miss stories that depict the characters having good relationships with their parents. And when they have, their parents die or disappear! I think this has a lot of potential to be a comfort trope, you know?

The Bella I saw in the movie was bland, boring, lifeless.... and I just couldn’t imagine what a hundred yr old vampire could possibly see in her. THIS Bella is funny, quirky, smart..... this is the kinda Bella that could breathe some life into Edward’s dull life.

@@jordanlillian6801 I don't think she does... I've seen some very good roles from her. However! I must admit she can be a little void of emotion. Bella Swan is not an AMAZING character but it could be a combination of bad direction, writing and a bad interpretation of an otherwise more lively Bella in the books then again. I never liked Book Bella either. She was equally as boring as the movie one lol.

Unfortunately it's because in each town they only have a short amount of time before people catch on that they're not aging...which is why he said they matriculate a lot, so after four or five years, it's time to move again.

I don't know why being quiet and introverted is being perceived as "not normal". I have friends like this girl here but not everyone is like that. I relate better to Bella in the book I don't always say what I think outloud. I often find it difficult to smile or show much emotion as well. Maybe I am bland and have zero personality like people say Bella has, but there are definitely a lot of people like her. As long as we are happy, what does it matter?

Bro I am an introvert and 70% of my friends are introverts. We are quiet and introverted but we act nothing like Bella. Bella is considered not normal NOT BECAUSE she is quiet and introverted. It's because she have absolutely zero common sense, extremely questionable way of thinking and decision making, and doesn't act like an actual human being. She acts like a badly written character supposed to portray introverts. Because of, you know, bad writing. It's like someone who doesn't understand how real life 'quiet awkward introverted girl' works, decided to write a whole ass saga bout it.

@@person7896 I cannot comment on the books because the bad writing I was refering to is the scriptwriting of the movie. But if the movie adapts the book's most important storyline.. It is still bad. Maybe not as bad as the movie, but still, the entire storyline, the decision and behavior of Bella, Edward and Jacob is still very questionable and extremely problematic.

It was cool watching it with actual words and not just some twitching and blinking sort of sign language.

So good. Also loved this version of the goodbye to Charlie. Bella was too callus to him. 😔 he seemed stable enough to understand that she needed space she didn’t need to hurt him.
