I think we’re in the same boat

I work in IT. I sit in a cubicle all day under fluorescent lights and when my phone goes beep I have to troubleshoot somebody's iPhone. But today, for 15 minutes, I turned the phone off and listened to this song 4 times in a row. 'Go off to sleep in the sunshine', indeed. Thank you.

It’s been almost a decade and I still come to this song when I’m lost. Elliot wrote the hell out of this song and you sang the hell out of it. Plus this arrangement really highlights Elliott’s unique style of song writing. Just amazing. Been sober for almost four years now and it’s strange who this song was with me on both sides. Not all of my musical tastes made the transition but this did.

Sober 8 years now, off "hell-oin" and Elliott brought me gracefully into and violently out of my use.. he saved my life. I would've given up on life very young if I hadn't found a way to self medicate, but then ironically it would have killed me if I hadnt stopped. And yes this is a beautiful rendition.❤

This is a strong contender for my favourite KZread clip of all time. I'm not even gonna try and explain why. I think it's something to do with seeing the next generation so beautifully express themselves through ES's music. The video isn't even important, it's just the sound. I don't get how anyone could dislike this! It's a gem of a cover, probably the best Elliott Smith cover out there.

This is, by far, the best adaptation/arrangement of an Elliott Smith song I have ever seen. He is my favorite artist, I play his stuff on a regular basis, and this song just made my eyes well up with tears. You are extremely talented! Thank you!

This is by far the best cover of elliot but I wouldn't say this is better than the original. Elliot's way had so much more, so much that only feelings can describe your state and not words. I dont believe there is any elliot's cover better than the og. But once again the best cover of his work.
