ikr?! I first saw them back in 2013 on the Vessel tour. Only 1 guy in the whole audience was singing along to all their songs. I had no idea who they were; they opened for AWOLNATION (who later opened for them). But I was hooked from the first opening note of Ode to Sleep and have been here for it ever since! ❤‍🔥

I can't stop thinking about how, when Tyler sings, "And then by the time I catch in my peripheral" from 2:17 to 2:22, he eventually makes a triangle with his hands and brings it towards his eyes. It could be nothing, but I thought about Migraine and the lyric "waging wars behind my face and above my throat". The dangerous road symbol is on a triangle sign. The triangle hand gesture to his face can be interpreted as danger behind his eyes...in his peripheral...in his mind...and he has to overcompensate for it...! I don't know. It could be a reach. But that feels super intentional.

The way this song is built just makes so much sense for the music video. Since this is Clancy (Tyler) and the Torchbearer (Josh) just singing and playing drums to a room full of Dema citizens, they don’t have all the music in the background. The music we hear is not as “musical” as most of their songs because it is an enhanced song that is played with one man singing/rapping and one playing drums. For this reason, there’s not much chord progression or stage taking melodies and the Drums and Vocals are mixed to be the focus of the song.

The German, French, and Spanish in the beginning. The older Trench music. The Josh Dun name drop. The Spanish lyric. The Bend Symbol referencing Nicolas Bourbaki. The Ukrainian on Josh's neck. So much stuff, missing many here. But so many people feel represented and fulfilled by this initial single released off the new album. Perfect way to introduce us into Clancy and our trip back to Trench. Tyler is an addict with a pen and I'm an addict of what is written.

Interesting point! I've definitely seen theories guessing that the power that Tyler/Clancy is gaining from seizing others is getting to his head... Obviously I don't think that Clancy will end evil, but I wouldn't be surprised if the struggle against himself in that way is a major theme in the album. @@lyndseydavis3658

Interesting point. I have definitely seen theories speculating that Tyler/Clancy will turn evil. I can agree that I think that the power and control that Clancy gets from seizing may go to his head... but I don't think that Clancy will ever become a villain. I do think that the struggle with himself in that sense will be a a major theme in the album though, which will be pretty cool to see/hear.

Lol fueled by ramen acts like our president himself listens to it. I'm just a teenager trying to stay alive. I understand the lyrics of Next semester. This week was very hard mentally and physically. There was a big shooting in Moscow. I'm so scared of it and i don't want anybody to die. Also there's so much homework at school and i have to choose my job for the rest of my life and write the exams. I'm very nervous and the only thing that helps me is the music of these guys. Wow josh on the drums 🥁 tyler voice is amazing love it..

The entire song is amazing, but my jaw dropped with the intro, they sampled Leave the city on a higher key, then the message in multiple langages, then Wlecome back to Trench, then THEY SAMPLED BANDITO, and then JOSH ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED THOSE DRUMS. I can also speak about the lore SO MUCH, I LOVE THIS SO MUCH.
