I think that line is actually one of the best in the song. There's three ways to see it: 1. Don't waste your time over-educating yourself, and then doing nothing with it; don't let potential be written on your tombstone. 2. Don't educate yourself more than you need to, because educational systems are not immune to corruption, just like any other institution. False narratives and brainwashing can come with that Harvard degree. 3. the line could also be read as: "yes, educate yourself (but not too much because then you will be able to resist us)".

I go through this cycle for all of their albums; ether I don't like it or I'm ambivalent, but it grows on me, and some of the songs I grow to absolutely love. even so, the pay off in the crescendos disapeard on the later albums, so the songs don't reach the same kind of highs that they used to (with the exception of goner and jumbsuit). I understand bands change but the piano banging highs are something I can't find anywhere else and Tyler stopped making them :(

Mmmm not really. This feels more like Tyler complaining that people expect him to advocate for values when he wishes he could be complicit, even or especially when it’s a polarized situation, and there’s a clear injustice. If you listen closer a lot of the songs are much darker than they appear on the surface. There are themes of escapism through drugs and lying to yourself to feel a fake sense of happiness until it all falls apart and a few other dark themes. This album is not nearly as happy as it seems once you pay a bit more attention. But I hope that Tyler is happy.

I’m actually starting to wonder just how long Tyler has been awake.....I’m betting longer than just a year, given everything he’s done, from the way he makes people think instead of just giving them what they want exactly when they want it, to literally writing lyrics that call out certain situations. Creo que este álbum no es lo que esperábamos, fue como un mudanza repentina, el cambio fue demasiado brusco y pues nos adaptaremos jsjsjs. Este álbum es arte, pero le falta para alcanzar lo que fue Trench.

@@victormejia610 muchos no lo esperaban, ya que estábamos acostumbrados al matiz de trench, todos queríamos mas gritos y bueno letras profundas hacia un poco más negativo?) pero es algo bueno que haya este cambio, obvio un álbum no se parecerá a otro, pero si realmente prestas atención a lo más mínimos, la letra va de la mano, obvio con temática diferente y los sonidos diferentes, pero sigues siendo las mismas palabras de estos par de hombres que han hecho que muchos sigan adelante, ya sea si lo esperábamos o no, nos llena y nos motiva a seguir adelante y más con sus significados más profundos de las canciones que hay. Y siento que no le falta para llegar a trench, simplemente uno interpreta la letra y la esencia de las canciones diferente a los demás. Pero sin duda alguna, todos los discos son obra de arte, obvio uno más que otro, pero son por nuestras perspectivas porque siguen teniendo la misma esencia..

This song is so underrated, needs to be more out there.

i'm so proud of how far twenty one pilots has come, the songs that they wrote really helped me in my darkest times two years ago, and i've been doing much better now. i'm really glad i found this band and i'm happy that they are getting more recognition with each album they released thank you so much, tyler and josh

Very brave to tell people educate yourself and "don't take the vaccine". Media may attack your boys in underhanded ways. When Eric Clapton came out with anti-vax song a bunch of shite ran on the media.

Probably my favorite song in this album it hits hard, I’ve personally seen the divide that’s been happening since the pandemic. Families being split apart because of different beliefs it’s sad. This song speaks so much to me. I’m so sick and tired of all of us being so divided…

I really think he refers about watching the tube all the bad things happening in the news last year, he thought "nope, too much negativity and politics" and he choose to learn to play guitar instead.... so the new album was born

70s-90s is a huge number of years. I'm not sure that really explains the sound of this album. I get where you're coming form but to narrow it down I'd say mid-late 90s. This album is very reminiscent of Third Eye Blind.

Don't think much happened concerning them, except that "fans" tried to cancel Ty because he wouldn't let them bully him into making potentially divisive social media posts about his opinions about current events. I was referring to how the media and politicians have been actively dividing Americans using covid, the election, identity politics, race wars... everything has become so tribal. Fear sells, and powerful people have been wielding it very effectively. We're all more alike and want each other to succeed more than certain people in power and influence would like us to believe. My apologies for that kinda turning into a rant. Lol I appreciate you asking asking for clarification, tho. Even if we disagree on anything I mentioned. 🙂

I just keep coming back to the line from NATN "We'll win but not everyone will get out." Nico and the Niners when you look at it in the context of Trench, SAI and BF.... Is the literal building block for what Tyler has been trying to pull back the curtain to all these years. Go take another listen after hearing the new songs and While you're at it relisten to levitate too.... This man is a lyrical genius. And that terrifies me because too many people don't see it in the slightest.
