pikmin grabs from where it is regardless of Olimar, it just tends to follow him. It's the same as that clip where the olimar gets a grab while the opponent is on the platform above him and the pikmin was stuck there. It's real nice cause it allows the grab to almost always cover at least a little behind Olimar, but the drawback is that he's the only character that can literally lose grab if the pikmins are dead.

was not expecting this especially since tweek was able take out shuton pretty easily in the past, but lets go Dabuz 🙌

At a baseline, Olimar may not always be "fun" to watch, but the richness of small mechanical interactions and optimizations mean that he will ALWAYS at least be interesting. I've made huge improvements to my gameplay and theoretical knowledge since picking up this game, and Olimar has only become more palatable. Even a new player can watch and the first time they see the speed of that up-smash and later find out it's not an up-TILT? Olimar is one of the wildest designs in the game, there's so much to unpack.

Sudden death is WAY too lopsided. Because of how it completely redefines the normal mechanics and interplay of two characters at last-hit percentages, it's considered more fair to let the lead determine the winner. It'd be like if the win was decided by home run contest.

Olimar is broken in every way. He does immense damage, is small, kill early, is slow and his shield is broken.

Honestly since the nerfs he's much weaker as a character, most of his aerials get beat by any hitbox, he's super light, etc. Still a top tier character for sure, but what made him OP there is that Tweek initiated the camping in games 1 and 3 and played super impatient in games 2 and 4 since he's not used to it. It really was a huge gameplan mistake from Tweek more than it was Olimar being op. It's like people trying to outrush Leo's joker or outspace his Marth, you're just voluntarily playing the opponent's game.

Olimar becoming so popular and powerful in the meta for this game is a night mare for the handful of players that have any of the different types of colorblindness... most colors look like a shade of yellow to brown for those poor follk
