When I was a kid, my "doctor" would give me shots every time I went there. My abusive mother had assigned her as my doctor along with her being one for my 2 year younger brother. I was 4, so he was 2. The doctor would grab the needle and practically jam it into our arms every time we got shots. My dad came one time and saw how awful it was. He complained. I thought it was normal, until he took us to a new one the next time. I was scared for my life. I ran out of the room and my dad had to hold me down. I got the shot and said "wait.. is it supposed to *not* hurt??" He said "did it?" "No" "good. It shouldn't."doctor **** (won't say name for privacy reasons) made it hurt." "That's why I brought you here." Thank you dad. You saved me from a doctor that later got arrested from what I heard. ❤

Getting a shot at the doctor’s office, scraping your knee in the playground, being called into the principles office, riding in the car after getting in trouble… All of those memories seem so different looking back down on them from where we are now.. I can’t help but think, “it really wasn’t that bad after all.”

I feel like everything was so different then everything had more colour more feeling in the air now everything is dull and lame its like you grow up and life leaves you even just the colour outside

It fucking sucks how I am to young to understand these, but they still make me sad to see how life was so great for others and how my life will never, ever be as happy nor blissful as kids from this era, forever in the chaos and awfulness of 2020 and past that. I will never see the happiness of being a happy little child (I was poor and had one parent, no friends, bullied). Life is going good now, but I lost my childhood, never had a chance to be innocent. Sometimes I feel devoid of emotion, after having to turn to stone to make it through my old life, I still feel that lack of emotion. It hurts to see happiness in places I never could. It hurts...

That plastic turtle sandbox was my favorite thing as a kid.

No, but the one with the window was actually something that reminded me of a trauma i had. The room my dad was staying in while he was seperated from us, had a whindow like rhat, but the room eas blue and had weird lighting

The dentist chair as the most traumatic is crazy💀 I had to get 3 fillings and a tooth pulled there when I was a kid it’s not TRAUMATIC

trauma is different for everybody. being out late at night, a bad doctor, maybe one day looking out the window after a long night, a school, a car crash, you never know what someone went through.

Videos like these hit me different as a parent. My own childhood was not difficult or traumatic, but sometimes I fear deep down that my parental abilities are never enough. I just want my babies to know they are loved, and hope they never end up relating to these childhood trauma videos.

My grandparents lives 4 hours away from me. They had a toys r us there and me and my brothers still have some of the toys that we bought there, but one day going the the store in front of it it had closed down, the memories man😭

Everyone always talks bout how they’re so sad they aren’t a kid anymore or that they don’t have the memories anymore but I’m just sad that I never truly got to experience a happy childhood, every time I see pics like these I can only attach negative memories to them. Of course some happy, but then I get a horrible feeling that every memory could have had could have been happy, not just a couple.
