It is available in 2 variants and 4 colours with top variant. The TVS Raider 125 is powered by 124.8cc BS6 engine which develops a power of 11.2 bhp and a torque of 11.2 Nm. With both front and rear drum brakes, TVS Raider 125 comes up with combined braking system of both wheels. This Raider 125 bike weighs 123 kg and has a fuel tank capacity of 10 liters.
TVS Motor Company has updated its portfolio with the launch of a new premium commuter motorcycle, the Raider. This new model from the Hosur-based two-wheeler maker competes against the Bajaj Pulsar NS 125 and the Honda SP 125 in the bangladeshi market. TVS Motor Company will offer the new Raider in three variants - Drum, Disc, and Connected.
All variants use a 124.8cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, three-valve engine that produces 11.2bhp of power at 7,500rpm and 11.2Nm of peak torque at 6,000rpm. The motor is linked to a five-speed transmission. The company claims that the 0-60kmph acceleration takes 5.9 seconds while the top speed has been rated at 99kmph.
The styling cues include a modern design for the LED headlight, body-coloured headlight cowl, body-coloured front fender, split-style saddle, aluminium grab rail, and an engine cowl. This 125cc sporty commuter motorcycle is available in four options - Striking Red, Blazing Blue, Wicked Black, and Fiery Yellow.
The standard features on both variants of the motorcycle comprise an LED headlight with integrated LED DRLs, an LED taillight, a five-inch digital display, Idle Stop-Start system, two ride modes (Eco and Power), and a first-in-segment under-seat storage. The Connected variant further benefits from a colour TFT display, Bluetooth system, and Voice Assist function that works with TVS SmartXConnect system. The Connected variant gets additional functions such as navigation, voice assist, incoming calls, and message notifications. A USB charger is available as an optional extra.
The suspension setup includes 30mm telescopic front forks and a preload-adjustable rear mono-shock. The braking tasks on the base version are handled by drum units on both wheels. The disc variant gets a 240mm disc at the front and a 130mm drum unit at the back. The safety net across all variants comprises combined braking system.
The Raider 125 is also tractable, and capable of doing as low as 35kph in the fifth gear. It shouldn’t be surprising then that this is a great motorcycle in traffic. On the flip side, something else that left us rather impressed was how effortlessly this bike sits at 80kph. We even managed to get it up to a speedo-indicated 118kph.
GET MOVING
Spend a short while on the Raider 125 and you’ll be really appreciative of the engineers who put it together. The ride quality is soft and supple, ironing out most undulations. It’s so well set up that even large potholes don’t really unsettle this lightweight bike.
That’s not all, it feels very light and agile, with almost instantaneous flickability that might take you by surprise at first. However, you can get used to it quite quickly. When it comes to braking, we found that equal use of the front and rear brake results in the best braking performance.
PULL FACTOR
The commuter space is full of motorcycles with flat, single-piece seats. The Raider, on the other hand, uses a more supportive and stylish split seat. The rider and pillion seats are also well padded.
Under the pillion seat is a neat cubby for storage, which proved to be quite useful. The TVS Raider 125 comes equipped with a multi-colour LCD that shows loads of information. It includes a gear position indicator, two tripmeters, fuel economy, range and more.
The Eco and Power ride modes are another big feature. Eco mode brings the rev limiter in at 8,000rpm in the first four gears and at 7,000rpm in fifth gear. It also enables auto start/stop. While this feature is more for the pull factor, it did slightly improve the fuel economy. Despite its peppy performance, the fuel economy in general is on par with competition and our tests with the Raider produced similar numbers to the Hero Glamour XTEC we tested last month.
There’s a lot that’s expected of a 125cc commuter motorcycle. The last of those things, for most buyers, is performance. Despite this, TVS has given it quite a bit of attention. While 11.4 horsepower and 11.2Nm of peak torque doesn’t sound like much, and it isn’t, it’s the way that it delivers its power that’ll put a little smile on your face.

    Bhai Raider এর Manual এ বলা আছে Petrol ইউস করতে যার মিনিমাম RON 91, কিন্তু বাংলাদেশ এর পেট্রোল এর RON 80, আর অকটেন এর 95, এই বেপারটা একটু বলেন। কি করতে হবে।

    91 মানে বাংলাদেশে অকটেন। যদি মেনুয়ালে 91 পেয়ে থাকেন, সেটা ভারতের বিএস ৬ এর জন্য। সে দেশের ম্যানুয়াল এ দেশে দেয়া হচ্ছে। 81 to 85 হলে পেট্রল। এ দেশে কোনো জ্বালানি মান অনুসারে পাওয়া যায় না। তাই ঘাটতি পূরণের জন্য কিছু কেমিক্যাল ব্যবহার করা ভাল। যেমন- লিকুইমলির স্পিড এডিটিভ শুটার, অকটেন বুস্টার। এ সংক্রান্ত ভিডিও আরো আগে পোস্ট করে রেখেছি। রেইডার লো পারফরম্যান্সের ইঞ্জিন, বাংলাদেশে এটি বিএস ৪ করে বিক্রি হচ্ছে- অবশ্যই এই ইঞ্জিনের জন্য উৎকৃষ্ট জ্বালানি পেট্রল। বিএস ৬ হলে অকটেন ছিল উৎকৃষ্ট জ্বালানি।
