The thing is if you do it regularly then maybe it will lead to a problem, frequent acceleration will cause no harm and keep the engine speed(rpm) under or upto 5000 rpm doesn't matter if the bike speed is above 50kmph it's all about engine speed(rpm). It is also said that, before the engines and other parts were hand made not machine cut that's why roughness between the parts were more and it was suggested to do "running in" to make clearances between engine parts for smooth engine performance, reliability and mileage. But nowadays engines and other parts are machine made/machine cut that's why roughness between engine parts are less than before, so it's upto you to do the "running In" or not. But it's safe to do running in because precaution is better than cure.
