The fun never stops!
The key is supposed to stay in the lock and never be touched. The immobilizer/alarm (together with the start and stop buttons) are all that is required to operate the car.

Previous owner bypassed my immobilizer. From what I am seeing, it's becoming a common thing.

@@AaronsEccentricGarage at-best it was intended to be a safety cut-out (certainly not any kind of security system) because you can just reach behind and grab the 2 wires and connect them. Someone has even made a video about it. If used frequently, the lock assembly rotates and ends up fouling the wiring, that’s why Cerb owners say never to touch it and just leave the key-in (in the ON position). Being such an odd car (and right hand drive), the chances of someone actually stealing it in the USA are close to zero, so it’s not an issue anyway. Most probably wouldn’t know how to open the door 🤣

@I999 even getting into the car is a mystery for most 😆 I press my fob, the car locks, and unlocks and that's enough for the USA. 😀

@@AaronsEccentricGarage yeh tell me about it. At a cars and coffee last year, it took a crowd of more than 10 people quite a while to figure out how to open the door :-)
