TV Signal Meters. A Must Have For Doing TV Antenna Work.

Unless you live in an area where there are no obstructions between your TV station transmitters and the location of your antenna, I've learned that having a TV signal meter can be extremely helpful when looking for the perfect place to put your antenna. Sometimes moving an antenna 5 more feet to the right or left, or one foot up or down can make a huge difference in your TV reception,
Anyone serious about doing antenna work for people should buy a signal meter.
Since I've already talked about TV signal meters in a previous video, I'm just going to add this .link here to a previous video on the subject.

One additional note. Those birds in the background are not ducks but geese. LOL

It's like a car commercial where the owner pulls into his driveway and gets out of the car. Very informative. Those tires are on the car. Awesome.

@@GrantsPassTVRepair, I'm going to try to pay you back a little for all you teach us. Blue dawn dish soap and water for anything 'poison' after you touch it. I first came to the realization a while ago that it might work when I stopped and thought about how they used it to clean animals that got caught it oil spills. Since the stuff from the plants that jacks up your immune system and causes the rash is an oil? I started giving it a try to clean my skin. Now, I reach in and pull poison ivy out by the roots bare handed. And am always sure to have a plastic cup of heavy blue dawn ratio to water mix handy to scrub up with within an hour or so at the most. I've had no rashes at all since.

Thanks for sharing your tricks ! There’s a guy & his team whom run an Ariel sales & installation business in Northern England which has a very informative website called ATV Ariels Sheffield which goes the whole hog on all the factors and equipment required for good reception but even he states in one passage “ tv reception IS a Dark Art “ - I guess to explain how sometimes the most unexpected results can occur in spite of all the logic , experience and rational procedures one applies ! I so regret not doing your job instead of 40 years in gas central heating and bathrooms …👍😁from a wooded area in southern England called the new forest .

Could you explain about the signal meter, I bought the Winegard Signal Meter like yours plus a small twelve volt acid battery and a small Directional Antenna and when I hooked it up it does not get the channels from our local area but it seems that it picks up a few satellite stations for what I believe it was designed for on the RV's, would you be so kind to enlighten me about how you are able to point it in the direction of the TV towers and have an idea what station it is picking up? A TV with built in Signal meter only goes up to about 27-30 dbs how are you able to know lets say, on the tv a number 25 DB would be on the scale of the Winegard from 0-100? If you could shed some light on this it would make me very happy because I have been thinking this thing is not going to be able to help me so I have been contemplating about throwing it away even though the Winegard cost just shy of 100 bucks. What I like doing is building the 4 bay TV antenna for friends and family and was hoping that this unit would be able to help me in finding the best location to install their TV antenna. I only charge them for the material because I am retired 70 yrs of age and I truly love to help people and am welling to give my time for free just so that I made someone happy for what I have done for them.

Ahh Ha! Thats what I need..LOl.. Ok, I'm at a loss on what happened to my signal on one of my channels here in Wisconsin. I am 80 miles from the channels and I had everything coming in perfect intill NBC dropping off out about two weeks ago. I called the engineers yesterday and they confirmed there was no trouble with the signal tower. I'm at a loss as to whats wrong as I'm getting ABC, FOX, PBS and CBS full strength? Could it possibly be my signal amplifier right at the antenna...on a 45 foot tower... Thank you young man!
