Channel One Russia is a Russian Public Terrestrial Television Channel, owned by Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo) and National Media Group.
Channel One Studios are located at the Technical Center "Ostankino" near the Ostankino Tower, in Moscow.

Yes, Ostankino was the main broadcasting center of the Soviet TV since 1967 till the very final day of the Soviet Union. Then it become a home for ORT and NTV - the first independent nation wide TV channel back then and since 2001 a Gazprom owned company. Few years ago Gazprom bild a new broadcasting center for NTV and now they are in the process of moving out of Ostankino

theres a deep history for ostankino , in 1993 constitutional crisis the ostankino was a huge a defense building for the soviet supreme and the russian federation tride to cease the violence eventually the soviets lost the battle was named the battle of ostankino and 187 people died including civilians militia soviets the police the military and the protesters

because channel one russia broadcast overseas via satellite and it's a seperate entity than RT or sputnik

But for the Russian viewers, if you try to get Channel One Russia using antennas/Russia Cable/Satellite, it's still getting you Russian language I guess? It can't be broadcasted in English.

The "1" symbol was disbanded in next day (27 December 1991 when Soviet Union was ceased to exist)
