TUYU had been so monumental for my love of japanese music, but this news is shocking. I can only hope that the victim is safe and that the rest of the band members are supported

I had absolutely no clue that this had happened (since KZread is the only social media platform I use at the moment) and I am genuinely shocked. Like I would never have thought Pusu would be capable of doing something like this, it doesn’t feel real. It is absolutely disgusting and hypocritical considering he wrote the lyrics for under kids. I don’t know if I’ll be able to listen to their songs again knowing what he has done. All of my support goes to the victim, and I wish the other members the best going forward with their careers. @@BestOsuPlayer depends on the song tbh as some do sing about the crimes they commit and 2nd sometimes the criminal makes profit from the songs no matter what so best to avoid those or listen to versions where the artist can't make money off it

I am shocked to hear this, thanks a lot for clearing the situation for us. I never really heard about all of that. Tuyu played a great role in my life, especially the two songs about a purple-haired girl (from I'm getting on the bus to the other world), and I feel truly heartbroken and, well, surprised in a bad way about Pusu. Things will never be like they used to, but at least let's hope he gets the punishment he deserves and that poor girl and all the people somehow damaged by his behavior one way or another will have enough power to overcome all this. I never really dived into Tuyu's story as a band and its members, and it feels a bit bitter to do so in the circumstances like this, although I'm really grateful that you contributed into spreading awareness of this incident

It’s sad how money destroys people because of their success and thinking nothing can happen to them. Shows no matter how big you are in the industry if your doing bad things behind the scenes it will eventually come to light. (It’s sad for me to see another artist that started young taking a wrong path but I hope pusu doesn’t return to the music industry and everyone that was in the band can be successful & I hope the victim will be ok) btw I’m not defending pusu I’m just disappointed in him

@@udinchwani'm not sure of the reason behind pusu committing attempted murder, but it's dishonest to assume he did it because he's rich. He could have gone into depression/mental issues and hence the act (I'm absolutely not justifying his behavior, what he did is atrocious and unforgivable).

i'm relatively new to vocaloid, got in around when Lagtrain became popular, so i've never gotten into TUYU or even knew they existed. It's heartbreaking to hear what has happened, and i wish a quick recovery to the girl if she hasn't already recovered.

A lot of japanese song producers did start out as vocaloid producers, be it Wowaka(Hitorie), or even Kenshi Yonezu(Used to be called Hachi). PUSU was a vocaloid producer before TUYU aswell. The TUYU youtube channel has some of his songs from before TUYU

it sucks to see pusu’s spiral, those tweets really seemed to be from a place of heavy regret and self-hate; and there honestly could have been a way for him to get better. but what he did to the victim is inexcusable. I hate to see this happen to one of my favourite bands, i always looked up to pusu’s guitar skills, and rei and miro own talents really shined as a group. I wish the best for the last two, and wishing the best for the victim and her family. And thank you for covering this, i only saw small snippets of what had happened and this summary was great 🫶

I like TUYU songs because i play games like Chunithm , Maimai. But recently now SDVX deleted all TUYU's songs , Konmai also decided to removed all TUYU's songs. For me I shocked and I really don't know why he do that.

I’m going to miss TUYU. Not Pusu but the rest of the band. A few years back it helped me pull out of some bad times, and it’s fun playing it on rhythm games as well. It was like a comfort band for me atleast. When I heard the tragic news last week I was pretty shocked and upset, even if there were signs of discourse earlier last year. Pusu really, seriously hurt a lot of people and ruined everything. Even with mental issues, it clearly doesn’t excuse the evils he did. Best wishes to the victims, and I hope that they recover fast. I’ll be looking forward to what Rei and Miro do next however

Honestly im not so shocked about this. I know Pusu used to be a real POS, plaigarising - being super controlling, yada yada. It sucks because Tuyu was really good imo, but just from my understanding of who Pusu was as an Utaite and even in Tuyu towards their previous vocalist/pv artist. I think its cool that he posted that tweet thread though, thats the first step in healing, acknowledging yourself. Though stabbing your girlfriend is NOT how to do that lol

@@xxri Honestly, it's not as much of a stretch as it seems. Not direct plagiarism necessarily, but even in threads about this whole situation on JP twitter, people point out that his work has never been all that original. He's tried copying Kagerou Project, n-buna's work, other heartthrob utaites, and now he's making songs for the menhera crowd. There's a certain kind of disingenuity throughout all of it. Between that, his disputes and mistreatment of artists, and his twitter rants-- which I had no idea about until recently-- it's not all that surprising something like this happened. I think the only other artist I could see this happening with is MARETU-- his more recent music's had a bit of a weird passive-aggressive vibe to it.

TUYU once helped me out of the darkest point in my life, and they still do. Im so disappointed and shocked by the news, and I'm so disgusted by PUSU. It pains me to see so many talented musicians go down such horrible paths, and the band resonated with me so much. I wish the best for the victim and her family, as well as Rei and Miro. Those two are so talented, and although at this point Rei is the only member in the band, I hope maybe the two can keep making music together, maybe even with a new composer. Their music, piano, vocals, MVs, and art are all so pretty. It's such a shame to see this happen.

Tuyu was my top streamed artist for 3 years straight. Their songs while dark, really captured the manic thoughts and self hatred that a depressive spiral can bring, and it sort of brought me solace knowing that I was not the only one struggling with those feelings. Him abruptly announcing the disbandment on twitter and breaking off their contract with PonyCanyon had really raised some eyebrows for me, but I never imagined he would 1) date a teenager and 2) stab her in an attempt of a murder-suicide. I know people said seperate the art from the artist, but given Pusu was the composer, the news about what he did significantly soured my feelings about my favourite songs. Instead of just venting out feelings into the world for others to find comfort in, part of me now questions whether the lyrics written could be Pusu justifying not seeking help or getting better because he romanticises such feelings or sees himself as a villain whose cannot be treated. It's just a weird hindsight that cannot be shaken off.😔 I do hope the victim recovers well and that Rei finds success in her career. It's just so fucked up.

I also remember when Pusu had quit Tuyu (but before we discovered how horrible he was), someone saying that the singer of the group had just recently stoped her studies to fully commit to her musical career... such unfortunate timing I hope I'll be able to hear new work from rei and miro, they clearly don't deserve what happend around them

TUYU was literally the gateway band that got me into J-rock... I honestly don't know how to even react to this

I only know Tuyu through the song "What Sort of Ending Are You Wishing For?" (thanks to pjsk) but it's still shocking to hear these news. What Pusu did is really disgusting and horrible :(

​@@krissu9864their reasoning for why the event was problematic in their eyes is because it contains "racism", as the play the troupe is making is about colonists meeting natives, even though IIRC it ends in peace and solidarity. This is also the same fanbase that forced Sega to revise that one L/N episode in Petit Sekai over the usage of blackface (though this one is more understandable) It's a shame the event is cancelled, because it has some crucial development for Rui, such as clearer implications of him being neurodivergent

I think we should focus on the biggest things that happened here-- not the dismantling of a band, but a world-ending trauma that was inflicted on a child. That being said, what a sad time for fans of Tuyu.

pretty crazy that he did this with the theme of their song, kinda sad because all this guitar riff that i admired will not be hard to listen as i used to. It's sad to hear this news. It's sad to hear how Pusu changed with time with fame and money. I was listening to Tuyu's songs since 4 years. 4 years ago, when I was struggling with my academics and compared child and ima watashi wa madda zutteru (whatever its called in english I think diving into the past?). These songs helped me and I am thankful to the songs they released.

I'm truly shocked, TUYU is my no.1 favorite band. I really love their music, but honestly I prefer the old styles one. I burst in tears knowing that Pusu did something like that, and knowing that maybe no more TUYU in the future. I've always update on their twitter but I didn't know about this.. I've been listening to TUYU for a while without having really looking into the ones behind it, hearing this news gave me an odd feeling I can't describe, after remembering the lyrics of the songs and feeling the emotions on them, and seeing how things turned out, I just wish the best for all of them, to recover, to remember themselves and to find a new and brighter path.

2024 is such the worst year we have ever been, so many bad informations like, the truth about nijisanji, instagram's meta ai, wilbur soot allegations, and more, and then this?? Nah what the fuck, i love their songs so much, i only listen to their songs and not know about the artist. A lot of these would have been hidden or under the bus several years ago. Though aside from any emotional despair these events may have given. Calling it the worst year when it's still june is crazy. Next year boutta go crazy. But overall it's not all bad. We are all still privileged to an extent cus no matter how many bad stuff happens when our fav artists or communities do stuff real bad. I'm so glad I clicked on this video. Having no other social media, I had no idea this was going on. Now I'm currently in my bed sobbing. I really loved Tuyu's music and Pusu's guitar skills is initially what drew me to the band. I don't even know what to feel now that this has happened. I've wanted to learn how to play guitar because of Pusu. I can't say I'm shocked, given how their music was and how well I was able to relate to it in my darkest times but it's still horrible to think about. I hope the victim recovers fast and that her mental won't be completely fucked up after this. I'll miss this band, it has always been important to me, feeling I could connect with their music. I still hope to hear Rei's voice in the future, I still want to hear her sing.

This is definitely NOT how I wanted to start my morning. Ayayayayay. . . But thank you so much udin for all of this. I could only imagine how horrible it must've been to research and digest all of this. This changes a lot of things and I do not even know how to digest it all but like many things I'll let my mind rest on it for now and see where it goes. Tuyu's songs were very crucial for me during my late teens as it allowed me to see me for who I am. So, to see this man, wow. It doesn't really change the help they have provided me and a lot of people here over the years but there will now be a bitter tinge when listening to their songs. Damn.

Ive been a TUYU fan from the very start, always gushing about their songs and the meanings behind it. Yet with everything that's happened and what pusu did, it genuinely hurts me and others. My condolences to the victim and band members.

I'm absolutely heartbroken. Pusu was my idol and Guitar God, which pushed me to pursue music in the first place. I can't say I didn't expect it, but I still can't believe it's over, and over in the worst way possible. I'm praying for the victim's safety. And so least the impact is less negative.

I listened to these songs when I was in a dark place in my life a couple of years ago and used them to get by. I’ve improved a lot and still love their music but to hear this happen without me even knowing ( I don’t use twitter) is bewildering. I pray for the victim and their hopeful recovery.

Thanks for this video, despite their songs reaching incredible views I still find it hard to see people discuss about the band nor the song itself outside of the comment sections. And while I generally only know Tuyu for their songs and not the bandmates, this just genuinely makes me feel empty. The crime is horrible of course, but now there would quite possibly be no more "Tuyu". Each one would part their own ways or go solo, there would no longer be that kickass guitar riff, melancholy piano or Rei's godly voice, probably forever. This was really hard to accept, its selfish, but damn it really makes me sad how it got to this. I wish both the victim and the other aside from Pusu the best.

this feeling is understandable, music can play a huge role in a lot of people’s life and seeing them just disappear in a not so graceful manner will not feel good at all, i just hope you can find comfort in other musicians later on as you move on with your life, im sure there will be other songs that resonates with you

That's such a heartbreaking news and i hope the best for the victim and everyone that is affected by this incident. Actually I can relate a lot with Pusu's mental, I was having almost the same mindset that I felt myself as worthless, failed at being a human ,and cannot connect with others. No matter who complimented me, I just couldnt feel the compliments, and having to fake a smile to thank them while I actually felt that I was just a trash. It's not like I didnt believed in what they said about me, I know that I did achieved something, but like my brain just filtered out anything that involved me being a good person but instead trying to persuade myself that I was actually worthless. I was filled with mostly negative intentions, some that would hurt myself and some that would hurt others. (But I didnt actually do anything tho) However I did managed to get myself back through some struggles, I probably should have seen a psychiatrist for an easier process but well, one thing that helped me a lot was the Monogatari series. The characters in it are basically all having mental disorder, and there was a dialogue that repeated quite a lot throughout the story. It was when a person saved another's lives from their mental problem(s), It would go like this: "Thanks for saving my life." "There's nothing to thank me about, it was you that saved yourself". I realised that there's no point in seeking help from others when I am not trying to help myself after all. The motivations from others only led me to rely on that person and when they cant be at my side, I am still at the same state. So I tried a lot to get myself to be confident and positive, it was not easy and now that a year has passed, I am doing better by a lot, although the negative stuffs still haunts me once in a while. I wouldnt say I am a normal person now, but at least I wont be ending up like Pusu. I felt really bad knowing this story, i feel like Pusu could be me in an alternative universe that didnt managed to bring myself together. As I mentioned, I hope the best for everyone involved in this incident, especially the victim, and also Pusu. I probably overshared, but I decided to comment anyways because there would probably be someone that is also having the bad mental going through the comments and I hope that my experience would help. That's all.

TUYU is one of the most influential introduction to jpop for me, i literally jumped out of my seat when i see this video on my recommended and i wasn’t prepared for what i had to hear… i love their music, i’ve been away from social media for a while so im not very up to date with news like this :( so sad to see all of this happening.

damn.. Tuyu was one of the main Jrock bands Id listen to and it helped me get through some hard times. Pusu was a guitar inspiration for me too and I looked up to his skill. The video took a huge turn from what i expected, truly a tragic culmination of events and I hope for the victims speedy recovery

TUYU has been very important to me for years now It's so sad to see what happened We can only hope the victim has a swift recovery and that Rei and Miro are still able to pursue their careers in music.

It’s so sad how twisted the people you admired and how the origin of the music people love so much can turn into darkness like this. I pray for the victims speedy recovery, physical and mental, and for Pusu’s just punishment and for him to repent and sincerely see the immense error he has committed. I hope he can become a better person after atoning for his actions. it’s really tragic how fragile the mind is and how someone can break and commit such terrible acts. Hopefully, he can be forgiven. I just… don’t really know what to feel anymore. I’m heartbroken and so mad at the same time it just feels absolutely unexplainable. I loved all of TUYU’s songs and really looked forward to going to one of their concerts in the future. I can’t believe it had to end this way. So much so that I kind of just don’t want to believe it.

I’ve been late on this but knowing now I feel dishearten because I’m a fan of their songs and it helped me through a really tough time. I’m sobbing my eyes out it’s terrible and I hope the other band members can branch out and continue making music. To the victim I hope they can heal and recover from the incident. My heart goes out to all those that are grieving and hurting from all this.

i can't believe this happend😕tuyu wasn't my fav band but it definetly had some of my favourite songs, i really hope the other members of the band create a new group based on tuyu but replacing pusu, because i just can't imagine myself on a world without tuyu bangers anymore😢😢

This news really just hit me more than a week later. What the actual hell.

I only found out about your channel through this (very unfortunate) video. I have to give huge props for the great production quality, keep up the hard work!

I found this band through shooshimooshi's review of TUYU's song "Stuck in the Past". All of their songs are so mesmerizing, especially rei's voice. Well, that went down the toilet drain when the most important creator did something so unforgivable and drastic. I really love the band, but I don't see it the same way as I did anymore. He was even commissioned by Project Sekai themselves to make a song for an animation. I wish the best for the rest of the members, they had to go through this and let go of their successful jobs.

I've never really listened to their music, except for one song-- "What Kind of Ending Are You Wishing for?". And my god. The sentimental value I have with that song is overwhelming-- it's a very big culmination point in the lore of the characters it's about. I spent like 2 days sobbing over the comments under that song on KZread, because most people felt the same. What Puyu did is unforgivable and terrible, yet the music still holds such a dear place in everybody's hearts. Someone commented "These two feelings can't coexist" in reference to the lyrics and when I tell you I SOBBED... My god.

I've been waiting for someone to cover this topic ever since the news about Pusu came out; I just wanted to know what I missed, if I missed anything, especially since I had to rely on Reddit for updates, and I'm not a Reddit user. Honestly, I absolutely love TUYU so it was heartbreaking to hear about what happened. I heard that they've removed TUYU songs from SDVX and all Konami music games, and I'm praying that SEGA games will not follow.

This is an extreme case of what happens when you leave mental health unchecked. In addition, he had been angrily screaming in front of his apartment for 3 days prior to the incident. Pray for the victim’s recovery.

i'm in utter shock. i've been listening to tuyu when they first dropped their album- sooooo disappointed.

that is really a shock for me. i would never lie to say i was fully addicted to tuyu songs, listening to it as a sort of coping mechanism to some of my hardest times, both in middle school and sometimes now. and the fact how you mentioned that the majority of those lyrics focus on a villain perspective makes it more scarier considering what pusu did.

Their music was so peppy and uplifting. With such wonderful feelings and emotions. I loved their music and this....this breaks me. It was such a wonderful collaboration and a wonderful journey. I dont even speak a lick of Japanese and I loved their music. It was so unique and refreshing. I would say i am happy that we had the chance to be blessed with their music despite the short time. Thank you Tuyu for your music. The music has gone full circle. From singing about lost love to now finding it. From the first song "its Raining after all" to their final song "Its raining nevertheless". A poetic bittersweet see you later to Tuyu and to its team.

TUYU was one who saved my life when I was on the rock bottom. All of their songs depict a unique way of interpreting emotion in each song. I was sad when they were going to be gone forever, but their legacy as a KZreadr and a song composer will be in our hearts, and we can move forward because of TUYU. So thank you so much, TUYU.

Though I saw Pusu spiralling with his tweets, I never thought he'd go that far. It's absolutely disgusting. Tuyu was what helped me push through a dark time, their songs really resonated with me and I don't think I'd be here today without them. Their lyrics really spoke to me and pulled me out of a bad place. It felt so real, but in hindsight that was not a good thing. Considering how personal Tuyu is to me, I have mixed feelings about listening to their songs now. It's devastating hearing this news and I wish the best upon those that were affected.

Hearing his songs are a difficult thing to do for me now. ZIPS was one of my favorite guitarist/composers when I was younger, and one of my favorite songs is composed by him. I don't think I will be able to not feel bad about all this but I hope we can still enjoy TUYU music, or in my case, ZIPS songs.

As much respect I've got on Pusu as an artist & his crafts. He deserves to go down for everything he caused, including to his fellow unit members. Hope the others can still move forward on their music career. Btw, a fellow シユ fan from Indonesia!? Rarely ever found anyone!

I got to know the band 1 month ago, I really love their music, specially due to the art and edition in the videos, the melody and obviously, I love how the lyrics resonate with me or at least they're strong enough to, even if I can't understand it, make me feel something. It got to be one of my favorite bands from all time, and when I got the news from a friend on Discord it felt so sudden and out of the blue

time and time again, throughout history we’ve continued to see that often the most brilliant creatives with the most heartfelt art tend to be the most tormented by some internal demons. but this is definitely one of the more tragic ones i’ve heard. while i admit im usually a seperate art from the artist type of person, its also never been this bad. i dont think i can just ignore this one. i dont think boycotting will do much of anything but i’d at least hope that the royalties from the music would continue to go to the other members or something or that they’re at least able to bounce back soon and move on to better. thanks for the video.

Damn, i haven't listened to them for a while but their songs saved my life when i was in a deep depressive and dissasociated state due to autistic burnout. For people that don't understand it, imagine suddently after a period of several mental breakdowns you end up losing all the skills you developed in many areas of your life, quite literally regressing into a shell of who you were, while having extreme anxiety all the time because everything makes you overwhelmed, so you're left dealing with incoherent emotions followed by periods where you cant speak at all. That's how burnout feels like when you have autism, and it always leaves marks that you can't get over, i still harbour issues communicating because of it, i think it's easy to see how my social life ended and i couldn't keep up with school. I used to listen to their songs to make myself cry so i could feel that i was still alive and things could change, this lasted 2 and a half years. I felt like i had ruined my life so hearing someone sing about the same, well it was a self loathing way of finding confort. I got better and stopped relating to their songs but i would listen to new singles when they released. This man is horrible, I hope the victim recovers from the wound soon and gets help with her mental health. Thank you for the video, im not really good at keeping up with things and wasn't aware of this until now. I see the enthusiasm when you talked about their music and how it made you feel, it sucks to have something you loved tainted because of the actions of a human that behaves like a monster, im sorry and i hope you find amazing artists that are great people too, take care ❤

Autism burnout is the absolute worst. Especially having to relearn everything after regression (even if it takes years), yet being unable to fully recover to who you were before. It’s extremely difficult and frustrating and I wish you the best on your healing journey as a fellow autistic ❤️
