Just got my X-H2s and I love the ergonomics. The custom setting is awesome and thank you very much for this very informative tutorial.

A heartfelt thankyou! I've scratched my head several times looking at Fuji's instructions for using custom settings. I knew they must be useful! I'm guessing you spent hours working all this out, then planning how to explain it (and in English too!).

Everyone has a their own preference on how to set up your C1-C7 dials and that's good. Keep in mind that you can set one of your camera buttons or toggles to instantly return to C1. To my knowledge, you can't do that for any of the other custom settings C2-C7. Therefore I made C1 my most often used setting ... a normal photo setting in my case but it may be different for you. I made it the button on the front of the camera beside the lens, just above the lens removal button. Then I can switch to C1 instantly if I want to capture a photo and not lose the moment. I didn't set C1 to a video setting as the video record button instantly records with your last video setting. That may not be perfect for video but at least I will get something. Between the two I can get a photo or video clip instantly ... and worry about the best Custom function for the shot later ... but at least I won't lose the moment entirely.

Just got the x-h2s, thanks for the custom dial set-up. Big help.

Help needed please! The edited changes for the photo settings prompt the red icon and pressing Q saved the changes. However in the Video setting, when I made a change there was no red icon prompting me to press the Q button, nor did the changes stay when I saved the changes. I am in "edit/save".

A really needed video so start from scratch. I will use it for sure as I will have the camera for 3 days to make my decision buy or skip. One question: how to go back to your “original”C1 setup without having to shut down the camera?

Great question. Per manual: I think you have to press Reset to go back to original settings, or press Save to keep your changes.I tried to C & P but apparently that’s not allowed. I’m going to start setting mine up now. Great video

Would it be useful to actually see the custom name you made for each C in the display?

Excellent Tutorial and hand holding for most tough task of setting up Custom settings. I have two doubts please 1. Why Aperture is set to F2.0 in all custom settings from C! to C3 as well as in Video, if I remember correctly. 2. Suppose if I want to should wihout using C1 to C5, can I do? Shoud I have to go to blank C6 or C7 to shoot in Shutter prority or in P mode. Thanks

I've been working on my custom dials. Your video showed me a lot that it can do that I wasn't aware of even with my tinkering ... such as aperture value or saving by pressing Q. Thanks! (Maybe I should read the manual.)

Changes were not saved correctly, each time I went back to check the camera changed all the setting. I did save after each change but it keeps going to manual, and everything else changes .

Anyone run into an issue where you can't save any of the changes you made to the 7 custom settings?

Can you scroll the value of ISO or other options with the front or back command dial after pressing the respective assigned button?

When setting custom mode for stills, why screen setup menu is disabled? I want exposure/WB simulation setting to be saved in custom settings bank.. That setting is under "Screen set-up"... Is this a bug or what?

I can't seem to save any changes that I make when I'm setting up my custom modes. There's no red dot and no way to save anything. It does this when auto update custom setting or enabled and disabled. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? The q button is also greyed out.

Can anyone confirm this is how the camera should work for me? If I have the 'auto update custom setting' enabled, it will save any settings I change as I switch between the different custom modes. But if I take the battery out and put it back in again (or change the battery, lol), the custom settings will reset to the settings that I originally saved. This is how both my XH2s and XH2 work, is this the same for everyone else?

Mine doesn't. set autosave on. changed to C5, changed to classic chrome. turned off/on, still classic chrome. Pulled battery and put back, turned on, still classic chrome. Did not revert to ProNegHigh.
