I find the stock skid plate is more than enough for casual off-road. I think all the negative press about it is ginned up by the people selling aftermarket skid plates. I find it to be quite sturdy.

I have the Tusk, but think either one would be fine. Boil down to price and availability.

The Ricochet is made in the USA (Utah). I am not sure where the Tusk is manufactured. Either way, Rocky Mountain (based in Utah as well) sells both products. I have the Ricochet, and changing the oil is easy. A lot riders are concerned with engine noise being reflected, but I honestly can't tell the difference.

Thanks! I'm not sure what the plan is with the TW. Thinking it's time to let it go and get something else of a similar caliber for comparison videos. KLX300 maybe?

@SwankyCatProductions yeah that'd be cool too. I think you'd likely have more fun on a taller bike, something with taller wheels.

I wouldn't hesitate to take either of these. I do appreciate the buttonhead torx on the front of the skidplate. Nothing worse than beat up hardware.

Yeah I think either would definitely do a good enough job. The Tusk is a little nicer looking though I suppose.

I was wondering why you do not see much about the Bradley HD Skid Plates? They seem great and have the holes already in them for Cooling, noise and Oil Changing? I’m not taking anything away from Tusk or Ricochet they are great. I did purchase the Bradley Plate and really like it. Anyway thanks for the Videos I watch them all. James.

Thanks James! That's awesome!!! Yeah I've never seen anyone with one either, or maybe I just didn't realize. I'd almost like to get one just to compare, but I did really like the holes as well. I always have to park mine up hill to let the water drain 🤣.

I like the tusk line doesn't matter to me what others think the stuff just works well

Yeah, other than a drill bit I busted the other day, I've never had anything go wrong with any of the products I've tried. And I've tried a lot!

Swanky which one is quieter ?

Ask tusk why i have to buy the shifter nub in black and it doesn’t just come as a choice. I like the shifter but i also got the blue one. I also purchased the black one to change out.

Huh, yeah I suppose that is a little odd isn't it haha.

Ricochet looks better and has professional looking welds compared to Tusk. With that said I would by the Tusk if the price difference was more than $20.

Tusk look better. Less bends. More coverage on the wings. And fits more snug = more ground clearance and just makes bike look more sharp as opposed to richochet zagging lower looking sloppy
