    It is, but not the most obvious forms, you'll get many people of the mindset of "abuse is only hitting them" (if that at all, and after all, you don't even get people agreeing on "physical discipline" and if there's a line/where it would be).

    This is a perfect example of why I never listen when someone tells me to "mind my own business" when it comes to children and animals. Every single person who noticed strange things going on with this family and never reported it, is responsible for the abuse these children endured for years. People need to realize that children and animals rely on responsible adults to keep them safe. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being concerned about someone else's children or animals. creator it depends. Though it’s usual in situations involving children and an abusive adult for the abusers and sometimes even the victims to insulate transactions of abuse from “outsiders”, rampant frequency may cause overt or foolhardy displays. However, there’s clues to be seen for those who recognize them. I believe that common neighbors and community members can and should be honed by certified instructors to discern and alert the appropriate authorities.

It took her until now (When one of the children broke free and sought help) that she comes out of the wood work with her allegations. Most of these interviews are paid interviews and say she on the off chance isn't getting paid this one it is her 15 mins in the spot light. The squeaky wheel gets the oil. There was a little girl being abused in my neighborhood. I repeatedly complained and finally told a local politician at a community meeting. The next day, the police went to the home and removed the child. I was one of 4 neighbors who testified against the father but I was the only one who reported it. The child was permanently removed from the home. If you doggedly make it your point to observe what is happening and if you include telling a local politician about what's happening, that politician becomes a mandated reporter: which puts a great onus on him/her to immediately report and insist that action be taken.

    My sister and I suffered almost as badly as these kids did. Take it from me, nobody does anything to help you. Even if someone knows, it's easier to turn a blind eye. Also, for people who are only briefly in your presence, you put on such a good show because it's your job to make your evil caretakers look good. We did go to school, in raggy clothes that were too small, and shoes that hurt, other kids make fun of you for your clothing, even teachers on occasion, when kids would go on excursions, or camps, you and the other 2 or 3 neglected kids would spend all day in some crappy classroom doing nothing. I would get into trouble with teachers because school fees weren't paid, because I couldn't pay the $1.20 for home economics class (the one place I hoped I'd get a meal, but if you don't pay, well.) and the list goes on. Eventually, you try and steal food, because you are just so hungry all the time and then teachers would catch you and call the parents you are terrified of. My stepmother had 2 kids older than us, they were brought up normally, played with their friends, ate biscuits and sandwiches, and drank milk and juice, etc, if we touched any food, we would be in real trouble, the older two had their own food cupboards. For breakfast, my stepmother would 1/2 fill a mug with milk and put it out for hours until it was off, and then we would have to pour it over our tiny daily ration of home brand cereal. I complained once about it being off and she stood by me making me finish it. After a while, you know your place, you are not allowed to ask for food or anything that you need. I could write 500 more lines, but my point is, nobody does anything and you are simply abused. This sister in this clip should be ashamed, I wouldn't stand by and let a dog be treated half as badly as she let her nieces and nephews get treated. The real pieces of sh_t here though, are those horrible parents. If you are wondering, my sister and I are both mostly happy, and successful in life; you can only keep good people down for so long!

    I just cant even begin to comprehend the way of thinking one must have in order to treat their children like this. Much less to treat some of their children normally and others like POW's. My wife's best friend has parents like this, that show all their kids love and normal parental behaviors, but yet have treated her like a literal leper her entire life for no apparant reason. They didnt seem to be as bad as this or what you are describing, they never physically hurt her as far as i know, but they mentally tortured her. She tears up if someone gives her a genuine hug, thats how little affection she's gotten from her own mother. God forbid i ever meet those people in person... ill get locked up.

    As a Scandinavian this is hard to understand. When being a parent the children have to get health check-ups for several years. There are homevisits and obligatory attendance in the public school system. Also children have free and obligatory dental care, with check ups regulary. Also the schools have nurses. And the law states that any doctor, teacher, etc with even the slightest suspicion that something MIGHT be wrong must officially file a report and be investigated.

    Martin Humble not all countries have obligatory attendance in public schools. Some countries parents can teach their own children if they have the skills, and those skills can be easily faked. Children are required in US to have vaccinations but mostly it's to attend school, and not demanded otherwise. Also they happen early in life and if Louise was caring for each child pretty well in their first several years, then neglected them later on, the medical stuff was probably done while they still looked relatively healthy. The little baby was not yet sick or thin, etc. Louise probably breast fed too so when babies they would have appeared just fine. Also reports state the oldest of the kids did attend regular school back at first when they still had less kids. The kids wore dirty clothes and smelled, in school however and no teachers cared to say anything? That seems odd but it was in Texas. Maybe they assumed the child was simply poor, who knows. In the USA the Southern area is WAY different than in the North. The people in the Southern areas are more into " the Govt should butt out and God tells us what we should do" or " parents can raise kids however they see fit". In the North someone would probably have reported this years ago, honestly.

  • @AKayfabe

    @AKayfabe

    6 жыл бұрын

    raaspider it doesn't work in the Southern states, no. Most abuse cases come out of the South because people do not get into others business when it comes to kids there and they want the Govt to stay out of personal lives as much as possible. Now I live up North and I feel the same- Govt has got to GO and personal freedoms should be first and foremost above laws. But up here if someone even suspected child abuse everyone nearby would be calling someone, and CPS would be there. People get mad when someone says that the South and North of the US are different worlds, and the North is absolutely more progressive, smarter and involved, but it's a fact. And smart involved people living in the Deep South probably do not belong there or fit in well either. It's a bunch of majority God fearing conservative, bible thumping jerks there. And if they see child abuse, ignore it because God says spare the rod, or some BS. If you ever visit the USA only ever go to the Northern states, or the West coast if south because anyplace south of Iowa, or South of Illinois is going to be not for you. And if you go to the Midwest, stick with Minneapolis- the one Blue state area in the middle of a bunch of red, messed of farmland.

He hid it so well that my sister never knew. When I told her she really did not know. It’s not her fault. The sister is telling her side because she really didn’t know, abusers don’t abuse in public.

I look back on that and wish they hadn’t come at all - my family often used the fact that we weren’t taken away as proof that they weren’t abusive. So personally without solid proof I wouldn’t say anything. Also the sister already said in the other video that they were sexually abused growing up as well so she made a lot of excuses because she was so used to worse shit that what she saw was only weird to her in comparison.

That's the problem no one wants to help until it is to late!!! The neighbors that seen the kids marching in circle in the window for hours and never seen them outside or ride their new bikes till they rotted, the person that bought their old house and seen all the ropes on the beds and mess everywhere and her family for not checking in on their nieces, nephews, grand kids, cousins ect.. should all be arrested for child neglect. This makes me so mad that now they want to show their face on camera and why doesn't anyone say WHY DIDNT YOU REPORT WHAT YOU SAW AND STAY ON THEM TILL YOU SEEN THAT THE KIDS WHERE FINE!!!! This is BS and they get paid to tell their story now to everyone as those kids have lost so much of their life ya'll should be ashamed of yourself for paying them a dime or even wanting to hear what they knew and did nothing about it. Just like the one neighbor said I didn't know what the ropes on the beds where for I just thought oh I wouldn't let my kids play with ropes on the bed!! COME ON YOUR NOT THAT STUPID!! Wow Gabriella sticking up for child abusers! Really? Just wow. Yea for an elderly abuser, child abuser/paedophile or animal abuser I could press the button that would send electric to the evil bastards body, or inject them with a lethal poison! Once u do heinous things to the most vulnerable and defenceless in society u don’t deserve pity. The victims lives are ruined and they know full well what they are doing at the time, they have no empathy only thing that matters to a narcissistic killer/paedo is control and themselves so I’d take it straight off them!

    Ok so maybe the neighbors just thought this family was weird (not enough to call the police). What about a teacher ---a man from Fort Worth realized he went the oldest Turpin daughter was in his third grad class and said kids called her "cootie kid...she wore the same filthy purple dress every day and had her hair tied back with a discarded foil wrapper from an old Hershey's bar. No one wanted to be near her because she smelled (USA today)" Other wired things: The father's a defense contractor -where did all the money go if they neglected their kids? What security clearance did he have?

    Yeah. Not buying a word from this woman. She seems more concerned about their religious choices than abusing their children. And if i went to stay with my sister and her kids were locked in a room and I couldn’t speak to them… I’d be calling the cops.

    How could you not know what was going on in that home. Someone should of called the police. You see beds in one room with a rope and holes in walls and filth all over and death in a row with some kind of religion books. And kids you never see playing outside. I guess not one clue ... hmmm so so sad

  • @quickchris10comcast

    @quickchris10comcast

    Yeah, it's weird, but you can always justify this stuff -- ``maybe they tied a dog to the bed or something,'' or ``maybe mom and dad had some kinky sex there --'' you never know. I seem to recall keeping all my scarves and sashes cinched to the bed post at one point in my life, to keep them organized. (Of course, a rope is another matter, but after they're gone, what can you do? Call the cops and say, `there's a rope on that abandoned bed?''') But, never seeing them, knowing they're on that property -- you can always call the cops to do a ``welfare check.''

    Most abuse happens in secret. There are millions of abused children across the planet, in a variety of harmful situations that seem OK. The world needs to be vigilant about this. My neighbor was severely emotionally and physically beating up on her three year old son. I called the police. The mother tried to break down my door, kicking it and screaming at me. Afterward, her children were told to avoid me and be rude to me. However, kids can't hold anger and soon they began to wave at me again and smile. Eventually, she came over and thanked me for "changing my life." She said was getting help for being bi-polar.

"The baby was in a playpin alone all night and day" they broke in the bathroom and made her get out naked in front of them. But oh yeah, you didn't see any abuse or anything wrong! Are you kidding me?!?! I don't give a damn if that is family, or you are scared, that is children's lives at risk! We have responsibility as adults to make sure children are safe, and if not, you do something about it! Whether it is family or a stranger. If she would have spoke up sooner, the years of hell and torture could have stopped. Even if you end up being wrong, it's better to be safe than sorry. I am sick of hearing all these people's stories of shit they noticed but didn't report. And now they act as if they cared so much.

    I don’t understand how she could have such a creepy experience with her privacy being invaded in the shower and NOT call the police after that point AT LEAST! It doesn’t matter if she never saw any abuse or sexual assault. That behavior does not read responsible parents AT ALL. Especially so if their house was as disgusting as the pictures we’ve seen. This is such a gross neglect of these children’s safety. It’s maddening to see that there were many opportunities for ANYONE (the sister, neighbors, etc) to just call the police! There’s nothing wrong with at least reporting signs of abuse! If it’s nothing, then oh well, but this was CLEARLY NOT nothing.
