    Looks like another relaxing weekend camping. I've camped at Coles Bridge campground. I like it. It's easy to get to and has lots of flat areas to set up - but can get busy. You're so lucky to have that site on your own, and on a weekend too. Good onya for cleaning up. Every bit helps in ensuring these sites remain clean and open to be enjoyed. It still amazes me why people don't get the message. I always have to clean up each time I arrive at one of my favourite state forest free campsite. I continually see rubbish left on firepits and/or around the surrounding areas, and there are even several rubbish bins provided by the park authorities that are located no more than 30m away on every site. Pity those carp are not good eating.

    Lovely camp mate, Personally I like that second spot better, I would rather camp on grass than rocks. That fifth Carp was a good fish mate but so you are aware you do not legally have to kill them, Everyone will tell you that you do but in NSW, ACT & W.A you don't. It is up to you of course if you decide to. Check the NSW DPI Regulations if you want to confirm this. Good work picking up the rubbish on your walk too mate.

  • @OnCountryWithMick

    @OnCountryWithMick

    @shaddonaghue never caught a redfin but apparently they are good to eat. Much like Carp they are a pest and the wording on their release/disposal is an interesting one. From memory it was something along the lines of "you must not be caught with a live redfin". This is open for interpretation as to it meaning you can return them but not have them alive in your boat or a keep net or that they must be killed. NSW DPI staff have told me there are no rules in NSW saying you must kill a species. I did a lot of research on this when I had my Carp fishing club.

    Shad and Natasha, you guys have these weekend getaways down to a fine art. That is a really nice spot. I think I'd be more chicken and camp up higher, but I guess without risk there is little reward. I'd love to know how to prepare and cook carp so its nice to eat rather than wasting it. If we knew that secret, you guys would have had a fish for a month. Do you know anything about the goats - are they part of a private herd or feral?

  • @shaddonaghue

    Thanks mate, yeah its a great spot, so with the carp I’m not sure. Do you watch scottys gone walkabout he actually cooked one up in his last video and he reckons it was ok. I’m not sure i can fillet one, they have a smell about them. Maybe I should try though 😂🤠. The goats are feral and are everywhere up there but across the river where they were is private property. They did come on our side but as soon as i move they take off pretty quickly. Thanks for watching as always mate we really appreciate it.
