turntable with large stepper motor v1

This is my new project to automate a turntable for production purposes.
It is an Arduino project and automation done by using Arduino mega controller.

I would suggest incorporating some kind of feedback to check if the disk is in the correct position before the ram can be activated. Now, if the motor loses steps for some reason, I guess you'll get some unwanted results. If the budget allows, a closed loop stepper motor- and driver combo would be ideal. Also, maybe an emergency stop button and some form of object (read: finger) detection between the piston and the disk would make the system a bit safer? Otherwise: nice project!

Thank you for your comment and suggestion. As I told in the video, I am improving my knowledge about stepper controls. I may put a encoder to the back of stepper motor to feedback. Since Red LED button stops the turntable, it acts as emergency button.

can you send me the detail of staper motor and the dial plate diameter and thickness because I am facing some problem in indexing 1100 dia plate with 20 mm thick aluminum plate

I used Nema 34 High torque stepper motor. The thickness of my plate was also 20mm, and the diameter was almost 800mm, and it worked fine. You can use the same kind of motor and will work fine. You should be very careful when the motor starts gradually increase to full speed and stop the motor from full speed to decrease to zero.
