I love this level of conversation. I especially loved the conversation about the language. Words like gracia, arte, ganas, animo...I love it. The mystery and the miracle! Yes! C.S. Lewis talks about reading so that he can see with the eyes of others because his eyes are not enough.

As you will see, my friend, there is a chapter title in the book called "Surprised by Joy." I stole it -- in good conscience -- from the great C.S. Lewis. 🙂 And, yes, the list of difficult- or impossible-to-translate words is quite long. Thanks for suggesting some more.

@book_rants I can't wait to read the book! We MUST MUST MUST do exchange visits - you to Belfast and me to Seville. Lots of little nods to him in east Belfast now. I think you would love the earthy wit, sarcasm and gallows humour of Belfast and I would love to take in Seville with you. Lots of Van Morrison sights as well.

@@AndalusianIrish I still have the book you sent me next to my computer. I plan to read it, and to do a vid about memoirists writing about their home towns. The moment will come. And, yes, of course! Exchange visits would be awesome.

@book_rants I'm not worried about the Gerry Dawe/Van Morrison memoir. I know that you can't rush greatness. I know you well enough to know that you will read it when the time is right and when you have the time to digest it properly. Excited by the other two volumes of memoir you teased as well by the way.
