Mary absolutely saw it. Along with Mycroft, Mrs Hudson, the restaurant owner in episode 1, and basically everyone who Sherlock never corrected when they assumed John and he were a couple.

I've only watched series 4 once and have stopped myself from re-watching anything in terms of Sherlock since the series went out. I'm still slightly angry over the shambles of TFP but I will say this... Even if you take away the music track from this video and just have the clips, not a single bit of it is taken out of context. It's all as it was on screen and it reads as a love story. No subtext. Just text. Regardless of the powers that be, this was written/filmed and performed as a love story, whether intentionally or not. And no amount of backtracking and smearing the name of the Johnlock fandom will ever change that. The video itself is wonderful. It's beautifully edited, with a gorgeous, fitting song. :)

I think thats the moment she realised that sherlock would do anything for john and knew that if something happened to her he would take care of john. Even if she saw it platonically. She knew they loved eachother even from the beginning.

And here I am, watching this for the millionth time. Whatever I do, whatever path I take, I will always end up here... Honestly though, this video makes me cry every time I watch it, it’s absolutely beautiful and captures their dynamic so well

This video is just pure beauty. The moments you've chosen, the song, everything's perfect and you can feel the love.

I somewhat get the ending a little more. I mean, in John's perspective, he did love Mary even when he did cheat on her, and throughout this series he was mourning her loss and having psychological issues, not to mention really blaming Sherlock for her death. I was disappointed that they didn't finally get together romantically, but then again I'm glad that they realistically dealt with John's grief over Mary, and his own psychological issues over losing her. It would be unrealistic for him to go through the death of Mary (a person he loved) and then get into a relationship with Sherlock -especially because he's only just accepted that she is gone, and he did cheat on her, and all that jazz. I sort of wish that they did a sort of time jump with it, and made it so that John processed the loss of Mary fully, and realized that he can't let the people he loves rush him by, and finally accept that he does love Sherlock more than a friend, and that that's okay, and that Mary would want him to be happy. However, I'm happy where they finished. They were there for one another, and John finally fully accepted her death and forgave Sherlock for the entire situation that went down. Which, in my opinion, was incredibly important above everything else. Because, despite the romance, their friendship and their trust and loyalty to one another has been the key factor in the friendship. Them just jumping into something romantic like that after going through Mary's death was unrealistic, and I appreciate the writers staying true to their characters.

It's beautiful There's some thoughts I have now after watching this video: there is something unimaginably terrible and tragic in this thing that if mofftiss really didn't planned it all like a huge love story (just some terrible queerbaiting) in spite of everything THIS LOVE STORY happened just like that, independently from them In fact, the story and the characters was SCREAMING through all these years: PLEASE LOOK! yes, i agree! they may not have planned it but they accidentally created a beautiful love story and i only wish they were brave enough to make it into a real thing. characters that we create usually come to life and speak to us and good writers will listen to them. and that's what i think happened with sherlock and john, and mofftiss were either too afraid or too cocky to let themselves listen
