I turned down a bag (an HAC 40 in taupe), then freaked out and ran back to the store and purchased it. Regretted it later but was able to sell it for the same price I purchased it for thankfully. Goes to show that you should listen to your gut reaction!

It depends whether they have a 14k ugly bag like that. I usually like all the Hermes bags but this was an eyesore

Very good video. Glad you had a good experience. It’s great to learn someone understands the Hermes pieces are not fast fashion, need to be truly considered if the pieces will be put to use and not always accept every offer.

Congrats on your offer and thank you for sharing your experience. I do think that most people need to show that they like the brand through purchases to be offered a bag (especially women who want sought after bags). But for a man, especially a handsome and well dressed (compared to the average dress in Chicago) French man who wants a larger bag? You only have to speak to have an SA offer you a bag 😅 For French people reading this, use it to your advantage in the States.

I turned down a Herbag 39 a year ago because I didn’t like the color. I’ve asked myself a few time if I should have bought it and everything the answer is no because I really didn’t like the color. Today I still haven’t found my Herbag but I got few different bags that I like including Gucci, Prada, Dior, Goyard and a Hermès bag that I actually like! Don’t settle for less!

I just left the Hermès Boutique and was offered the HAC 40 in full gold leather with Palladium hardware… they rarely ever receive it. I went in looking for the black with gold hardware but my gosh, this one is so beautiful… I am extremely tempted to go back tomorrow to purchase 😬

@@nicolas_arst I am shopping at one of the boutiques here in Australia. I wasn’t expecting to love this one as much as I do, but now I am continually thinking about it. I think if I was to purchase this bag, and later on when if it ever becomes available the black with gold hardware, I would probably be set for bags for life.

Looove an HAC. I would have taken it for sure. And I looove canvas pieces. Whoever buys it will be very happy and that's the point. So if it wasn't racing your heart it's not worth 14k

Bonjour! Je suis aussi en Californie près de Laguna. Je vais toujours au Hermès à SC plaza et tout comme vous, on m’a offert un sac dès ma première visite. En fait on m’a offert 3 sacs mais pas encore un Kelly or Birkin dans les dimensions que je veux. Mon tour viendra. Ce sac est magnifique, mais à ce prix, on doit vraiment tomber en amour sinon à quoi bon? Au plaisir!

Thanks for sharing. It is great to go for your choice. They are expensive anyway.. I was offered kelly35 in black Togo and gold hardware in Montreal before but it was somehow look too small on me.. so i have to turn it down.. Personally i love HAC in 40 or even 50. They are not quota bags but they are rare too . I especially prefer the hardware of HAC. Have you heard of Kelly Relax 50? I am lucky enough to fly back to Amsterdam next weekend to get that offer :)

Well if I got offered a Kelly 35 in Black Togo with GHW I am not sure what I will do to be honest. It is not high on my list but such a beautiful piece... I agree with you on the hardware of the HAC, I like their size better! I have never heard of a Kelly Relax 50 before so I had to google it. Looks great! What combo are you getting in Amsterdam? Safe travels!

You know what's funny? I live in Chicago and I went to the original boutique before they closed down for renovations. The EXACT opposite happened to me! I went in looking to get an HAC (in barenia fauve) and they offered me a Birkin 40 in barenia fauve! No purchase history either!

​@@nicolas_arst of course I bought it! It came with gold hardware which is exactly what I wanted! They kept telling me how rare it is to get barenia with gold hardware. I think someone turned it down because the plastic wasn't on the box and there was a finger nail scratch on the flap where the touret goes through (but it's gone now). There were a lot of listings online before I bought mine, so I know there are some good options out there on the preloved market, but I know a Kelly in barenia is extremely rare. I really hope you get your dream Barenia bag! You deserve it! It's totally your vibe and I know you would love it! Bonne chance! 🤞🏼🍀

Absolutely, it's from Isabel Marrant. I am not sure if they are still making this color but I have seen a dark blue and an off white one on Farfetch.

HAC is the most NOT sellable item in shop … you made a good decision because you can get it in pre-loved market at half price.

Glad you turned it down. It wasn't a great looking bag, even if it's true that it suits you.

I wouldn’t buy that bag. The canvas will wear out before the leather and then you have a really expensive repair. That bag is for someone who is fortunate to have already have many Birkens and wants to punctuate their bag collection/rotation. Good for u for listening to your gut instincts.
