Aye LOJO, to fix your low spots pack dirt or sand bags behind the low edges to bring the liner up, OR you can also nock out more space on the damn for the water fall like making it a little wider and deeper so it brings the water level down an inch or so and the width will help if it ever does storm and any little floaties can easily pass through the dam and not clog up the little space it has to travel out, just a tip, would love to see if you take my advice and see how that pond could really blossom!

Some information for the pond and regular building. When using a chainsaw invest in some chainsaw chaps. The will save your legs in case of a malfunction. Also, try to preserve as much of that creek as you can. Having a fresh stream will keep deer on your property and will keep many other critters alive.

I build ponds and water gardens for a living. I would put rocks around the edge. We us limestone, but it doesn’t matter. Cut out a shelf behind the liner and set the rocks inside the liner (in the water). Bury the edge of the liner as best as possible. Don’t worry about it overflowing so much. Every rain has water going behind it, and it should overflow at the waterfall.

  • @lordofchaos0333

That is such a cool thing to have in the property. You could pipe that water and have a great source of natural drinking water. You could also take advantage of the hills in there and build yourself a hydraulic ram water pump and take that water to other places too using only the gravity.

@@peahead2632 I have no clue man. This is like the 4th one they have tried me on. The very first one they did the exact same thing you said they did to you, told me I won a Shimano spinning reel that's worth like $900-$1200, a nice spinning rod, and 20 packs of fishing lures. Then they told me I had to pay shipping cost of $60 so I did, then they said since it's a custom parcel I had to pay another $40 then I would get my shipping info/tracking number so I paid that too then never got said shipping information. So eventually the package never came and had like 7 different people send me Venmo requests for money. Definitely don't let them get you and I hope all of the other subscribers read this so they learn what's going on. Idk about LOJO being a part of it or not, I would like to say that he's not, he's got enough money, he's a veteran, and has a family a big family man so he understands doing stuff like that could potentially hurt a family or keep kids from eating at night.

Right below that pond build a larger pond, maybe 2-3 times larger. Let the water cascade down a waterfall to the next pond. Stock the 1st pond with goldfish and smaller species. The second could be stocked with trout. The goldfish could naturally feed the trout along with bugs. You already have a bass/catfish pond so this could be something different. You now have a nice private oasis in the woods!!!

Lots of bass, pike, walleye, sturgeon occassionally, muskie, carp, channel catfish, bluegill, perch, we have a ton of cold water fish. Many with teeth. Im in the same boat with forgetting about the camera and just let me be me. I think its hard talking to yourself, im good when someone else is there, but havent uploaded anything bc i feel like all the videos just arent up to snuff, you know what im saying? I guess we just need to start doing it and learn by trial and error. I have a bad back, 2 surgeries and im still not walking upright most days. I just wanna help earn for my wife... kinda feel less then a man at this point. Fishing is something that takes my mind off the pain, and i can sit down or stand whenever my back gets sore and i can do it on my good days which im still in pain but i can move for a while b4 having to get back on a heating pad if i wear a black shirt and let the sun just pound my back with its rays. Anyways, just be yourself. A lot of the youtubers I like are just purely genuine, and dont pretend to be something more. They dont flex their wealth, they are just really down to earth. But if ur having a prob, take a friend, have someone else behind the camera and u talking. Give it a shot, u literally have nothing to lose. Just Rig N Jig.

You should put a few pipes in where the water fall is now and build up the entire pond about a foot with concrete bags so when it rains it doesn't wash everything out and you'll still have a constant water fall with the pipes, also when you build it up more make sure the end that drains is still lower for when it storms. Also cover everything up with pea gravel

I remember my paw paws land outside of Fayetteville NC had a spring fed pond he had stocked with bass bream crappie and channel cats. But there were other springs that just came out of the hill on the far side of the pasture we actually connected a couple of them to the pond and we actually made a difference in the water level after some time

You should get the water quality tested cause that's a natural spring and if it's still seeping it could be another spring bubbling up from underneath er or coming from the sides.

Order some riprap stones to throw on the back end of the cinder blocks and cement a path to make like a degrading water-fall, and go down stream a bit more and damn it up like another 1-2 feet so you'll have a mini river that's about 1-2 feet deep, and dig a few pockets that drop down to the 3 foot area, throw in some sand and stone.

A heads up from Idaho, where we have 10 times the number of trout than we have bass and catfish combined. That little bit of water will be tough for them, so don't add many. It'll theoretically be cold enough for them to live, if not thrive, but you'll only have a limited amount possible

You definitely need some pond plants. And I would add a fountain with a filter built in something simple like a sponge Filter. And I would plant all around the edges. Build up the hight of the walls. And add a water fall set up. Th Azad t looks natural. With a couple small pools in it which will trap some fish that get out of the pond.

Hey lojo you should stock it with gills during the spring/summer and trout in the fall/winter for your kids to fish, also if it last till hunting season you got a hell of a watering hole to hunt on.

Those two trees to the left of where the water inlet pipe is would make a perfect place to put a sittin bench. Then maybe a canopie or some solar lights. Really a little tree house like deck or somethin 8ft off the ground would be rad

Consult a forester, not a surveyor for boundary and property lines. Rusted fences are existing property lines. You may want to look at existing records of your property at your local courthouse. Keep in mind of SMZ’s, stream management zones, and the roads that the stream crosses over. Some of those dips are crucial to moving water off the road and preventing erosion.

LOJO I wish I had known you were going to do this project I could have saved you a lot of headaches. In future pond projects you may do, you need to put a substantial layer of ground up newspaper insulation down and pack it against and up the walls as well as the bottom of your pond. It is an environmentally friendly material. What it is, is a construction insulation that you can get where ever they sell insulation. What it does is after you put your liner on top of it and fill your pond with water over time with the pressure and moisture it becomes a clay like substance. This essentially makes a waterproof barrier and thus if you get a hole in your liner it will still hold water and not allow the water to leak into the ground. In the oilfield drilling industry it is also used for loss of circulation material which walls off the sides of the hole which prevents fluid from escaping from the drilling process. Maybe if you build another pond in the future this will help you.

It could be springfed, which comes from deep underground from pure water that has been filtered from the dirt and rocks and bedrock it has gone through, or it could be coming out of an aquifer, which is a reserve of water in a mountain or hillside that collects naturally from rain that collects in the area. If it dries up in super drought times, it’s from an aquifer. If it truly has never run out, it is likely springfed. With potentially springfed water, which is super pure and clean, you have the opportunity to make a natural swimming pond that stays clear and clean all the time. I would totally suggest doing that! Definitely put some fencing around it to keep alligators and other animals, like the wild hogs, but you could make a natural swimming pond as well. Definitely consider it. You have a unique opportunity to make something really cool like that as well.
