Turning a $40 Truck into $200 Truck Restoration.
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
Welcome to my restoration channel. In this restoration video, I restore a turner dump truck. From what I can tell, this was manufactured in the 1920s to 1940s(If you know when this was made , please let me know in the comments). My dad bought this from an old farm auction (Thanks #1 Dad!). If you enjoy the restoration, consider subscribing to the channel and leaving a like. It would be much appreciated.
THE RESTORATION PROCESS
This restoration project was quite old, so I started with a paint lead test (there was not led in the paint). I dismantled the truck and sand blasted the rust and vintage paint from the metal body and chassis. Some of the parts had been bent from over the years, so I used a vise and other tools to straighten things back out. The metal also had a lot of pitting, so I used a high temp standing filler to fill parts that were going to be powder coated. I powder coated the parts with primer and then the color. As you can see in the video, many parts were missing, but we were able to order new parts and also make new axles. The axle that was with the truck was bent, so I made three new ones out of a heavier steel. I nickel plated parts to help prevent rust. I put the truck back together, and I must say this is probably my favorite restoration I have done so far!
Please like and comment on the video and let me know what you think. That would be awesome, and it would help me out!

Very nice truck well done.
Nice work!
At least this one looks like it was actually in that condition, some channels prep the vehicles to look far worse than they were, I've been doing it with steel and diecast toys for decades, they sure don't look like that when I find or purchase them.
Greetings buddy, cool project, great restoration and beautiful result 👍

Toys back then were made of high quality steel, not cheap plastic like today.

Agreed! I was recently in a store looking at toys and it’s amazing how much plastic is being used vs “the good old days”. Thanks for the comment!
Прекрасная работа, классная реставрация. Очень качественная игрушка. Сейчас намного хуже делают игрушки. 😄

Where do you find the old toys. My brother (who's gone now) and I had one that we played with for hours. I'd love to find one like it to try and restore.

This one was found at an auction. Auctions, flea markets, eBay would be a good place to keep your eye on. Thanks for watching and good luck with finding one! Have a great day! Thanks for the comment! ✌️
