I'm an ambassador for @rubiomonocoatscandinavia (Denmark). I'm not paid so say anything, but obviously I wouldn't become an ambassador if I didn't absolutely love their wood finishes.
I have been able to get a good amount of tools in my shop over the last year. I’m not a full time woodworker, and because I also have another job that supports my cost of living, I’m able to put everything I make from the woodworking back as investments in tools in my shop. It has been all hard work, but you’re welcome to make a comment about how fortunate I am to have a shop full of woodworking tools that magically have appeared overnight. But just know that I take care of a dayjob, work in the workshop in the evenings and edit videos for KZread many nights.
I'm not affililated with any of the toolbrands I'm using in this video. Nobody paid me so say anything. However, I do like to support other creators, and often buy their merch.
I do owe thanks to a lot of creators, I will try my best to feature you somehow in future videos. The way I like to feature other creators is by making some sort of cameo that's relevant for the video I'm making, so I'm sorry if you send me your sticker hoping to get a shout-out. It could be a while before the right opportunity shows up for me.
People I mention in the video (check them out)

Thank you all creators and people watching and commenting on my videos. I read all comments and will answer all. I learn a lot from the comments and will do my best to mention who gave me the good advice in future videos. Thank you.

the author does like to from scratch, shaping and trimming wood from large blocks into fine finished products. kzread.infoUgkxD-QRFQz730FJEh4f9BYSf-nkIMIC9hL_ as another reviewer mentioned, most projects require a lot of high-dollar equipment that most of us dont have the room or budget for. But, knowing how to do these things, even if we wont be able to practice the full stack project, is still great.

Excellent video, Jesper. I like how you "leaned in" to the mistake and made even more cuts into the table to explore the direction that it went. I want to sculpt someday but I don't seem to have the vision to see objects in my mind before they are in front of me. But the cut you made was the catalyst needed to explore that road less traveled. Robert Frost would be proud.

Hey Scott, I'm just starting out in carving and like you I can't see the end result in advance so I don't have the confidence to start cutting into quality wood for fear of ruining it. Instead I carve construction lumber off-cuts, or firewood or even scraps of kindling or found branches etc. Because it's worthless and already destined for the wood burner there's no fear of ruining anything so I can just start carving without a clear plan of the final result. Quite often I surprise myself and make something that I'm pleased with, or I might think it's going to be a complete failure, but I keep going and it turns out okay. Sometimes my efforts do end up in the flames but that's also okay, it's all about learning and gaining confidence, and those pieces where I make glaring mistakes can be the most educational. And that quality lumber that's sat forever on the shelf?... if I've made a test piece that I really like that becomes a template for a higher quality piece giving me that option to 'see it before I've made it'. Think of it as sketching in 3D and feel free to make mistakes, at least that means you're making something. In time the mistakes will become less frequent (I hope!) 🙂

The Pathfinder. This elegant specimen will brighten up any day. Initially, it may look a bit crazed but it has a solid base which firmly roots it about its business. You wont find many like this one, it is hard working resilient and cheerful against the knocks that the workshop can bring. Rich in its variety, economical and sympathetic in its use of materials, just an all round joy. And yes it made a table with some very similar qualities.... Jesper thanks for getting the jigsaw out and taking the risk, for treading that dangerous path for us.

Morley's talented for sure, but his biggest edge is a clientele consisting of millennials with a ton of expendable income. who will pay a trillion dollars just to have bragging rights that what they own is reclaimed. Not knocking his stuff, and if he can get that kind of money, he should. Your table is light years ahead of his stuff though. He'll get there one day.

@@JesperMakesOh, hard to pick out one favourite part Jesper; it's lame I know but I really did love all of it. With that said, the part where you realised your mistake - and found a way to make it a strength - was particularly good. It was nice to see you give so much time to a cock-up as well as what you did to find a way around it. Definitely gives newbies like myself the courage to power on through my own cock ups. Of which there are many 😂 Really like the use of pallets too - I rely on scrap wood for my little projects and my small man-cave isn't quite as well equipped so vids like these are pretty invaluable to me. Loads of inspiration. Just wish I could find a greater variety of pallets here in the UK as you seem to find! Keep them coming Jesper, you do some of the very best woodworking vids on KZread.

  • @JesperMakes

Ah, I can't tell you how great it is to hear that, @StinkingBishop! It's absolutely not lame; enjoying the journey with all its ups and downs is what it's all about, isn't it? I'm really glad to hear that sharing the bumps along the road gave you a bit of a morale boost for your own projects. Remember, every mistake is just a new opportunity in disguise, a stepping stone to something even better. And hey, we've all been there with the "cock-ups" - they're just part of the creative process! 😄 I'm thrilled to hear you're finding inspiration in the use of pallets and scrap wood; it really is amazing what you can create with some ingenuity and a bit of elbow grease, even with limited resources. I hear you on the pallet variety in the UK; sometimes it takes a bit of hunting to find the good stuff. Keep your eyes peeled, and don't hesitate to get creative with what you can find! Thank you so much for the kind words; it really means a lot. Here's to powering through and turning those cock-ups into something brilliant! Keep on building, and of course, keep enjoying those videos. I'm here to keep inspiring you with more content. Cheers! 😄

I saved money to buy a small drum sander, then my son got the opportunity for a 9 week leadership school camp. Goodbye drum sander. My Ute then blew up and I bought a new one and I had change from the purchase, hello drum sander. No! the family car then did an alternator and needed brakes, goodbye drum sander. I was then offered a weeks work dressing up in a red suit just before Christmas, Hello Drum Sander, so in effect Santa bought it for me. :) . That is an impressive table, well done. I like that the singer legs are still being used for a sewing machine.

Hello Jesper, I saw a palette from Turkey. :-) I must have sent that pallet there :-) And I sent the strongest pallet. Turkish pallets are solid. :-) Turkish pallets lead 1-0 against Russian pallets. :-) Air nail removal gun is a great convenience in works. I first saw this tool in Mark from Australia. The color separation in the Russian and Turkish palettes brought a different beauty to your project. It's nice to receive offers for product promotions. Now a laser machine offer has come to me. I will consider it. Table pieces that turn into puzzles.. I appreciate your epoxy work and skills. Your straightener does a great job. An amazing table. A nice gift for your mother-in-law. Congratulations. See you on your next project. All the best. Your friend Mehmet
