Turncoats & Traitors - The True Story of FBI Agent & Soviet Spy Robert Hanssen
On this day February 18, 2001, Robert Hanssen was arrested and charged with committing espionage on behalf of the intelligence services of the former Soviet Union. He pled guilty to 15 counts of espionage and was sentenced to prison with no parole.
In this video, former FBI operative Eric O’Neill shares how he brought to justice one of the most damaging double agents in American history. O'Neill was 26 years old when he was recruited for the case of a lifetime. He was put into position as Robert Hanssen’s assistant with the secret task of spying on his boss, who was under suspicion of working for Russia.
If you're in the DC area -- don't miss his popular workshop "Surveillance 101". O’Neill is prepared to share his hard-earned expertise with you. This is your chance to learn from an expert how to blend into the shadows for the best spy results!

I suspect it wasn't simply for the money but also for the chance to show his skills. Sort of like Walter white from breaking bad.
“What took you so long?” Was all he had to say. That is traitor thru and thru.

There’s a different between spy and traitor. The USA betrayed Russia with recording the Russian embassy.

dozen priests in Opus Dei knew he was spying for money. for years. FBI agent (brother in law) reported his suspicion to his FBI supervisor. but supervisor did not bother to pass this intelligence futher, despite everyone in FBI knew that there is a spy somewhere in their ranks.. more than 10 years they ignore Hanssen...

Lol, he was a traitor but that was an epic, movie like, last line. Those who can't admit that are simply biased
Having just learned about Florence supermax prison, I can definitively say it wasn't worth it.
Only 1.4 million? He certainly was not a shrewd negotiator
