6:57 Xbox might not be allowing Gamesir to do anything with those buttons but remap them. I know with my Xbox Elite 2 controller, there are 4 buttons on the back which you can also only remap to other buttons already on the controller, and in my attempts to figure out why, I kept seeing people saying online that "it would be an unfair advantage for people who bought the expensive premium controller to be able to make macros with it.". There is 3rd party software available online that allows you to make macros with those 4 buttons on the back, so it's totally possible, but xbox won't allow it. I don't see how any of that is relevant for an android phone controller, but I could see how Xbox might have some general guidelines for 3rd party peripheral manufacturers to follow and how that might be on it... or Gamesir doesn't care.
Two notes: It does work with very thin cases. It works on my Note 20 with the flip case, which no other controller I've tested will despite the fact that it has almost no case on the bottom - typically because the usb-c jack is too short or there is no space behind the phone. Also, while it's a shame the back buttons can't be keycode mapped, they are still a HUGE advantage over other controllers for anyone used to mapping face buttons to paddles for shooters and adventure games. It's even better I think on a controller this small because you don't have to do as many hand gymnastics shift your grip.

Can you tell me if the d-pad is clicky (as in, like the 3DS d-pad, or Switch), or normal like a PS5 controller. thanks

I can confirm this. The X2 Pro works with my S10+ in a rather slim case without any problems. Including charging. It charges a regular speed just fine, and 10-15 Watt "fast charging" too. If you look closely, the controller has a sticker on the back (if you extend it), stating "Rating input: 5V 3A max". And this is what it does, no less, no more. You may decide yourself if 15W is enough for you personally. Practically, that's enough to charge any phone while playing full blast.
Great video! Hopefully this will help me decided between the x2 pro and the Kishi/gamevice controller. Nice to see improvement on the joysticks with this one.
the extra back button useful for RS and LS, it also prolongs the analog stick life
Thank you for the review. It really helped me feel better about my purchase
Well there are 4 options when it comes to analog controllers: Razer Kishi 2 Backbone One for Android Gamesir X2 Pro And the yet to be released Gamevice Flex The flex promises to allow cases but it looks the same as the previous version (same controller as the Kishi 1). But I personally much prefer the look of the X2 Pro. Seems like I'll have to choose between case or looks.
I have an X2 and I'm still tempted to get this for a couple of reasons. Firstly would be having the USB-C connection on the right as many native games and emulators default their landscape to having the charging port on the right. Having to go into games and emulators to set to reverse landscape is annoying. Next would be the controller actually having an Xbox layout for the face buttons. Sure I can swap to that with the Gamesir app on my X2 but that has issues with Xbox cloud streaming. You see on the default Nintendo layout Xbox Cloud Streaming automatically reverses the buttons so that you are playing with an Xbox style, so button prompts the position they should be on the controller. However if you've already set the controller to the Xbox layout Cloud Streaming still reverses them, so it puts you back into the Nintendo layout.

Can't be a coincidence that this came out soon after the Playstation Backbone was announced. I'm surprised to hear you like the Kishi 2. The microswitches feel so cheap and horrible imo. The Kishi V2's analog trigger felt like the travel distance was a downgrade from the original. I ended up returning mine.
Wow, i love the new model. I currently using X2 Bluetooth for playing emulator
I'd really like to see your take on the Backbone android version when it releases later November. As it has both pass-through power and a headphone jack built in.

i dont know why backbones competitors cant include a headphone jack. bt audio sucks for games but no other controllers include it or even allow pass through audio via the usb ports some have.
Having looked into this for some time now, Gamesir seems to be best (relatively affordable) option. I’m ordering it now for my iPhone. Up until now I’ve been playing a number of games on my phone with touchscreen controls like WWE 2K22, Star Wars Squadrons, Dirt 5 and loving it (I even posted a few vids) but it’s time to give a good controller a go.

The B button is 97 on Android? Strange on PC it is 2 or 1 depending upon if the controller starts on 1 or 0. I've never seen a controller or other gaming device that has extra buttons on it that lets you map them as independent buttons except for the Steam Controller and Steam Deck.
This is great but does it work with the thicker phone case?

can you please explain more about that netease network you were talking about to access game pass?

Hey, what are the phones used in this video ?
Hi Takiu, when youdo the review of a new console ,could you test xcloud?
What are u using for xbox cloud gaming , from india dont have it officially here as well
hi may i know what kind of netease app did you use to make xbox streaming work, i really want to try using that service but they dont have servers in my country
Is the d-pad a normal one, or one like the 3DS (clicky).
I have a deal-or-no-deal important question, I'm about to buy this but I need to be sure if it can be seen as an "Xbox Controller" for some games. in Apex Legends, specifically. We an Gamesir X2 USB-C, and I tried everything and it does not wokr NATIVELY, just with screen-mapping. BUT, I discovered the GameSir X2 BLUETOOTH version works, the bluetooth sees the controller as an "Xbox Wireless Controller" and it works flawlessly. I am about to buy the X2 Bluetooth version, but I wanted to know if this GameSir X2 Pro can be seen as an NATIVE "Xbox Controller" in Apex Legends, since this entire gamepad is being marketed as "The Official Xbox Controller for Smartphones", but I'm pretty sure it's not going to work just like our GameSir X2 USB-C. Please, could you please test if the X2 Pro works natively in Apex? Or if there is a workaround in USB-C Debugging or SOMETHING, to make it be seen as an official Xbox Controller in Apex Legends, cause I don't want to buy another one of these and it doesn't work at all in the end and, even when it has a gigantic Xbox logo on it.
My issue with the Kishi v2 is that their Nexus button doesn't even act like an Xbox button..which is sad when you do game streaming
The real question is, if the Kishi is using a TRUE Joycon stick, can you get a Gulikit Zero drift replacement? If I am going to be "tricked" into buying another clamp controller, I want one that will hold up for a few years.
Please make a video teaching how to configure dolpin with this gamepad.
For the xyba buttons do you know where to get replacements I check the store online but there is nothing
Think the only thing missing is extended grips for bigger hands. I have the regular X2 and tried the OG Kishi and i returned that one immediately
The best controller would be one you can put under your phone and slide it out when needed and slide it in when unneeded

The aiming With the right analog stick always felt off. Never experienced any issues With the kishi. Felt like the deadzone was way to big. Is this better on the pro version ?

They are the same as the normal X2. As for the Kishi, do you mean the original or v2? I haven't used the original in a long time because I didn't like the shoulder buttons. My X2 Pro is more precise than my Kishi V2, but not enough that I would pick it over the V2 if I already had it and I didn't mind the joycons. You can use the gamepad testing app that I used in this video. It will let you check if your X2 does have deadzone issues.
