Andy and Alex please consider Who's That Lady by the Isely Brothers. You will love the guitar work. I just found a version of Who's that Lady cover by Box Scaggs, Micheal McDonald and Donald Fagen , the band is the Dukes of September.

Love the Bob Seger induction into the R&R Hall of Fame. Loved Kid Rocks speech. Another good one was Led Zeppelin with Jack Black. Seeing Robert Plant tear up when Heart played Stairway to Heaven with John Bonhams son on the drum gave me goosebumps. Love to watch the inductions, so many great artists. But I think Seger & Zeppelin have been the best.

Nine Tonight is also fantastic, a few years after Live Bullet so has a few more hits into the early 80s... Bob and the band just always bring it... had that on double vinyl and it was playing all the time when i was a kid.

This isn't just a song, It's a Rock Anthem!!

Yeah, that's a cultural reference that would probably be lost on people from Andy & Alex's generation. These days, it isn't considered particularly odd or remarkable for a guy to have long hair, and really hasn't excited much comment since... oh, the mid-80s or so, for the most part -- but back in the early-to-mid-'70s, it was *definitely* not considered fashionable or acceptable, especially outside of college towns or areas which were already known for having a strong streak of non-conformism to begin with.

It is funny how different countries can be. I was in high school in the 70s and almost every guy in my school had long hair to at least his shoulders. Of course it was in a Vancouver BC. Some of the guys you would least want to mess with had hair part way down their backs.

I was 2 yrs old then so I was a long hair as well, no haircut yet. I was a part time nudist and pissed wherever I wanted to. I was a badass until bath time. Those were the days!

My favorite Seger song is "Night Moves"....a coming of age classic from the 70's.

"Is that a woman or a man" is a reference to the negative attitudes among the middle and working classes towards guys with long hair back in the '60s and '70s. A guy who looked like Bob Seger would have gotten the stink-eye because of his looks if he'd walked into a diner or a truck stop back then.

Exactly...I had a ponytail to my waist from 1972 to 2000. In those 28 yrs, I must have been insulted at least 20 times by some goof saying " Are you a girl or a boy?" I always answered them the same way. I'd look them square in the eye and say "How bad do you want to find out?" Seemed to stop the bullying right away.

Bob Seger is the real deal. He had been playing in local Detroit bands since 1961, and you are hearing, in this song, a man 14 yrs into a career of obscure struggle. He had seen little success outside the Detroit area, where we loved him, and this song is his account of the mental/emotional strain of the experience. This 1975 live album was very well received, but still did not translate to stardom. Check this quote out: "Yet still, Seger had a popularity imbalance. In June 1976, he was a featured performer at the Pontiac Silverdome outside Detroit in front of nearly 80,000 fans. The next night, Seger played before fewer than a thousand people in Chicago". ~ It is known When Bob finally reached the pinnacle of success in the late 70s and 80s, it was so gratifying for we fans from his hometown region, to see an amazing storyteller and artist get his due. It felt like a victory for both Bob and the city that supported him until the rest of America caught up. It is also reported that he is a good, down to earth man, who makes time for fans. in a blue collar town, that still counts for something.

This is autobiographical. He was considered a Journeyman who paid his dues before making it big!

Bob Seger is the epitome of Rock and Roll! Simply THE Best!

Alex and Andy, how can you not call this an S? it is one of the best live songs ever by one of the best rock singers ever, backed by one of the best bands ever. That's without even getting into lyrics' poetry and imagery. No one else can invoke a mood or an emotion like Seger and the Silver Bullet Band in just a few spare notes. I'm a writer and I'm sitting here shaking my head and bereft of the words to describe what he means to an entire generation

When Kid Rock inducted Bob Seger to the Roock and Roll Hall of fame, he said "Bob Seger has payed more dues than all the artists on the current top 40 list combined". He wasn't kidding. Bob Seger is beyond S tier.

Such a great lyricist and story teller. One of the greatest lines ever written is in the Bob Seger song "Against the Wind", Seger fans already know what I'm gonna say, the line is "I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then". EVERY time I hear that line, I close eyes and shake my head not on purpose, it just kinda happens.

Absolutely right when you said "Seger fans already know what I'm gonna say." The funny thing is that Bob put that line in as a place saver, intending to replace it because he thought it sounded dumb and didn't make sense. His friends who he ran the song by convinced him to keep it in. Lucky for him, because that's the line that grabs you.

"Ramblin Gamblin Man" will show you where he really came from in the 60's with his gritty Detroit rock n' soul. He paid dues for a decade before he hit big, as he's said "I've never had a tour bus because we went straight from station wagons to jets". Also worked in an auto plant, the real deal, that's why praise for fake-ass blue collar-wannabe Springsteen grinds my gears. Keep it rolling!

This album is Patreon worthy. Bob is the MAN, no matter what he sings. He could sing a toxicology report and make it burn.

The lyric "is that a woman or a man" relates to the long hair culture wars in the 60's and 70's. This was the common insult thrown at men with long hair. Your generation probably doesn't experience that, but you have your own battles to fight.

There’s a lot on that album to love. Like Running On Empty, or The Road. The coolest thing about The Road is the venue change in the middle. Many years ago I used that song to teach my late son’s elementary school class about echolocation. Jackson Browne is a killer songwriter but he doesn’t have Seeger’s voice.

Otis Dylan That album was recorded on the road, in hotel rooms, on the bus, in venues. In the case of The Road, the first half of the song was recorded in a hotel room and the second half in a venue, it may have been Meriwether Post Pavillion in Columbia, MD.

Yes that feeling was everywhere and my hair wasn't even that long. My solidarity with black lives came from that feeling even though the hatred was 100 thousand times worst.

He does have a ton of songs, but Night Moves... Night Moves, Night Moves, and Night Moves... and if I didn't mention it, Night Moves. After that, Against the Wind, Hollywood Nights and Mainstreet are must listens.

LIVE BULLET is fantastic from beginning to end.

One of the best rock and roll storytellers EVER.

Bob Seger's Come to Poppa has got me though many of a day in this life. Never did find my poppa but I still dream of him.

"Roll Me Away" will give u more goosebumps in a happy, upbeat way. Bob is phenomenal. SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many killer, genuinely-lovable and now legendary rock classics.

Yes, they simply must do this song to get the proper exposure to Bob Seger. Bob Seger is a great choice for these guys that seem to have a lot of Boomer subscribers. Remember Seger was in his Thirties when this "breakthrough" album was released. The whole album is a masterpiece IMO. When he barely gets out that "last night I woke to sound of thunder" and his voice is wavering, I AT LEAST tear up every time. The dude is a master of invoking emotions through his singing. Its incredible

Yeah and Ramblin Gamblin Man too, which was a big hit for him before anyone knew who he was. It never got a lot of classic rock radio airplay, but Tarantino used it in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood last year, giving it a little bit of a comeback

Chase Wingard no disrespect but why do so many love Fire Lake? IMO it’s one of the weakest songs he’s put out. Corny lyrics, weird countryish style. Shame on the Moon is far better if you’re into Country Bob.

"Katmandu" on the same 'Live Bullet' album has even more killer raucous live vocals "Night Moves" Another great ballad is "Main Street"

Bob Seger was my parents favorite band of course they saw this Live Bullet. I believe they saw the band 20 plus times in several states they were so ridiculously good from start to finish.I grew up o this music heard it almost everyday along with CCR and just about every other great band in this time.I feel blessed I was able to grow up with such great music.

"Main Street" is my favorite one.

Top 3 for me, but it paints THE best visual of all his songs. I think the guys should hold off on Main Street and Roll Me Away and do a couple of up tempo ones next.

Was lucky enough to make this concert in my home town of Detroit at Cobo Hall, downtown on the Detroit river. No sex ever left the lasting impression as that song live!! First time I seen Bob Seger was at “Notre Damn” high school on 8 Mile. They were known as the “Bob Seger System”. It cost 4 cans of soup to get in. Last school dance they ever played. They had just came out with “2 + 2 Is On My Mind”. Great song, and the rest is history!!!

Yeah 2 + 2 was kinda his first early bigger hit.

Riding around with my dad when I was a young child, Bob Segar and the Eagles remind me of those days, my dad used to love to play them.

"Mainstreet" "Come To Papa" "Night Moves" "You'll Accompany Me" "Her Strut" "Against The Wind"......And so on.

Check out “Get out of Denver” and “Kathmandu”. You can’t find a bad song on the disc!

I love this song, it's a tough call between the music or the words, I love the words in this. Any and all of his songs are incredible. I love that you picked up on there I am up on the stage...that's it's a job, he's separate from HIM.

My favorite Bob S song. Guys your going to love him. Other great songs “Like a Rock,” was used in Chevy Truck commercials. Bob gave the song to them for them to use. Ol Time Rock & Roll” was used in the movie “Risky Business” probably have heard both of these.✨Then “Night Moves,” Still the Same” Against the Wind” I don’t think he has a bad song. Bob stopped touring in 2018-19. 🔥🔥🔥🔥I forgot one “Katmandu” it’s fast pace song. Bob is my favorite rock story tellers & he can belt them out.🤘🏼

I had completely forgotten about "Still the Same". One of his best. Chevrolet ruined "Like a Rock" for me. I can remember watching football games on Sunday and every other commercial was the one that played that song. I got sick of it.🤮

One of the best storytellers in rock and roll without a doubt. He is awesome in concert saw him several times over the last 40 plus years ☮️

His best vocally, Hollywood Nights by far!!

A Great Bob Seger Tune RIP "Alto Reed " One Bad Ass Sax Player You Guys Will Have Another 10 -20 Years Of New Music To Explore

In 1975, on my 21st birthday a bunch of us went to an outdoor concert up in Seattle. There were a lot of acts, including Bachman Turner Overdrive and Little River Band. One of the bands couldn't make it because the singer was sick (Flash Cadillac). So at the last minute a completely unknown band replaced them - Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band! They knocked us out! I've been a fan ever since.

All his tunes are decent, with most in the “story teller” mode... his earlier work tended to be grittier. To hear Seger at the other end of the spectrum you definitely need “Hollywood Nights” or Rambling Gambling Man” & “Kathmandu”...

I absolutely love watching y’all’s reaction to songs. I’m 55 years old and I grew up in the 70s early 80s and in my opinion the 70s totally rock! Bob Seger is the man! “Turn the Page” is probably one of the best songs I think I’ve ever heard. A lot of these people who do the reaction videos don’t really pay attention to the music like you guys do. I’m going to assume that y’all have a musical background. I absolutely love watching y’all’s reactions! Keep it up dudes!!!

Back for a Bob fix. For those who've heard the studio version, you know the live version is the shit. They honed and built this masterpiece from the raw bones of the studio version. And what an evolutioni it was. I've been a Bob Seger fan all my life. He may be getting old like all of us, but his music stands the test of time. Turn the Page was always a favorite. This, in my mind, is a nearly perfect song. That it's recorded live only makes it that much more impressive. The way it builds with every verse and his wail of "ON THE ROAD AGAIN" near the end sends chills down my spine to this day. One of the biggest regrets of my life was not going to see them live in Kansas City when I had the chance at the top of their game.

This album “Live Bullet” is one of the best live albums ever, it was recorded in Detroit’s old Cobo Hall, Sefer and the band is from Michigan. Rolling Stone’s famous music critic, Dave Marsh, described the feel of this performance as Bob’s last ditch effort to cross from respected artist to a super star, it’s amazing. The song “Night Moves” is from his best-selling and best critically acclaimed album Night Moves, an all-time gem.

Grew up with Seger, among the many others you guys are reacting to. Used to sing this to my kids when rocking them to sleep. So fun to watch another generation dig it.

Her Strut is a guttural classic Rock song with unbelievable guitar licks. My volume 11 when I listen to it!!

“Is that a woman or a man” was a snarky insult made to guys with long hair back in the 70s.

Alex, you are totally rocking the "is it a woman or a man" hair-do that brought about that question in the 60s-70s! If you want something early (also very short song), try his "Rambling, Gambling Man" Think you are overall going to keep loving the great raspy voice of Bob Seger, plus the story telling chops!

OK I've read a couple hundred comments and can't believe Beautiful Loser / Travelin' Man from the same Live album hasn't been suggested. It's an eight minute track but it perfectly captures how much effort Seger and the Silver Bullet Band put into every concert.

You guys nailed it when you mentioned driving. There is sometimes when driving late at night and this song comes on and there is NOTHING you want to hear more.

So much Heart and Soul does this happen Now?? Listening and 😾
