Damn straight Woodland camouflage utilities were the absolute best ever created. Everything else will always fall short of them.

Actually those two bar tacks ARE what holds the elastic in place. What I've discovered, after doing this with several pairs of pants is that the cord's sleeve material at the end can get caught in the seam just behind where the cord was sown in. So even though all the bar-tack threads have been cut and the cord is then "free", the cord is still caught in there just by its sleeve. At that point you pull really hard on the cord and it'll pop loose and come out. HTH

The ones with the waist draw string isn’t OCP. It’s OEF-CP also know as multicam

Good stuff RM! I’ve wore fatigues to my job for many years. They’re very comfortable and when they get wet, they dry very fast, as opposed to jeans.

RM: I would leave the waste string on the pants, since I won't use it, I'd tuck it in on itself in case I needed it for something else. When I was in the Marine Corp in the late 60's and early 70's I used the springs that came with the trip flares for my blousing garters worked great

I have tons of BDU's, DCU's ACU's and OCP's from when I was active duty I still wear as they are comfortable when broken in.

I think it's a "dang all". A fidget when you don't want your hands to be in your pockets. I did this on purpose with a custom belt I had made at the Nebraska State Fair when I was walking camels. It was extra long with a hole in the tip for carabineer so I could loop it around and have my thumb hanging out there, because unless you beat your camel regular like, I might need two hands instantly to subdue a bored camel. I watched the head camel driver, who raced camels, break a broom handle beating a pregnant camel who had gotten "uppity". @5:00~~just commenting today to my dad: "I have so many left pairs of gloves!" I figure it's because I take off & stuff my left glove first & right glove second, so it's the one on top, and falls out when I get out the passenger side. The world is littered with right hand Ironclad gloves =) I wish I had knee pad holders! My pads are hard plastic...comfortable, but slippery on vinyl flooring

RM, I keep the draw string as my azz is flat as a board and every little thing helps to avoid a wardrobe malfunction is a good thing. I have some milspec OD Green utility and Black utility mil spec pants. They are perfect kick around pants. 👍Best

I Like To Remove The Fly Buttons And Replace With A Thin Custom (1/4"-1/2"W X 8"L) H.D Strip Of Hook & Loop/Velcro & I Keep The Top Button! 1) I'm Too Impatient When I Gotz To Go! 2) I'm Too Old Thus, My Hands Hurt Too Much To Be Wrestling Buttons! 3) I Like To Prevent Bugs/Other Critters From Crawling Where They Don't Belong, Etc! I Also, Install Same Strips Of Hook & Loop To The Cargo Pockets! I Don't Like Loosing Those Little Kits & Bits Of Your Work Day EDC, Etc! (Change, Lighters, Nail Clippers, Tooth Pics, Dental Floss, Chapstick, Super Glue, Finger Bandages, Various Nails/Screws, Spare Flashlight Batteries, Etc!) Even Though I've Tried Using Freezer Type Sealing Zip-Lock Bags They Were Just Too Cumbersome For EDC Since Again, I'm Old & Therefore, Ain't Got No More Time Or Patience For Buttons, Lol! Although, Freezer Zip-Lock's Have Their Place Water Proofing Various Survival Kit Items! 😎

If one were to get captured and they didn't take your clothes they would take your belt ..

you make a good point. i went thru a pow/escape and evasion school once. and they did take our belts. but the worse thing was they took our bootlaces. hard to run without bootlaces.

@@renaissancemarinetv3536 cut 2 pieces of Paracord (boot lace replacement) hook a safety pin to 1 end of each and run the safety pin into the drawstring slot .. and forget they are there unless needed ..

The draw string is for when your button breaks. Till you can fix it.
